Proof ***Auction Highlight*** 1877 Proof Indian Cent 1c Graded Gem+ Proof Rd Cam By USCG (fc)

Lot # 468 (Sale Order: 327 of 618)

***Auction Highlight*** 1877 Proof Indian Cent 1c Graded Gem+ Proof Rd Cam By USCG. The mintage of the 1877 proof cent is in dispute. Walter Breen in his Complete ...moreEncyclopedia gives a figure of 510+ produced. Research by R.W. Julian revised the estimate to 900. The 900+ figure given by David Bowers in his Flying Eagle and Indian Cent book is based on his contention that at least 1,500 were produced, with unsold pieces being destroyed or released into circulation. The present Gem Cameo offering is a simply beautiful specimen with fully original copper-orange color. The razor-sharp strike is far superior to that often seen on business strikes in this series, and the fields glow with an intense reflectivity that could only have been imparted by proof production methods. A great representative of the ever-popular 1877 Indian cent in proof format. I have included two other examples for your comparison. A PR65 RD CAM and a PR6 RD CAM. I think you will see ours is accurately graded PR65+ CAM. We have never before been able to offer the elusive 1877 PROOF, I wish you Luck in obtaining this first example we have brought to auction.\ A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation

Lot # 472 (Sale Order: 330 of 618)

***Auction Highlight*** 1911-p Gold Indian Eagle $10 Graded ms66+ By SEGS. The incredibly beautiful surfaces of this 1911 eagle border on pristine. Displaying superior ...morefrosty mint luster and warm golden-orange patina, both sides are free of even the most trivial distractions. Fully struck, the razor sharp detail extends even to the central high points. The 1911 is generally available in Mint State and examples grading MS-60 to MS-65 are particularly popular for type purposes. However, above this range the 1911 is a noteworthy condition rarity. This is one of the nicest examples that we have handled in recent memory, and it is sure to sell for a strong premium. I’ve included another ms66+ for your comparison. Lot # 477 (Sale Order: 335 of 618)

***Auction Highlight*** 1901-o Morgan Dollar $1 Graded ms65+ DMPL By SEGS. Up for Auction is a Near TOP POP, a half point from the finest known in DMPL. The 1901-O is...more among the most common late-date dollars, but it is seldom located with deeply mirrored fields, such as seen on this coin. The mirroring sets up a strong background for the mint frost on the devices. While not one of the strongest contrasts among all Morgans, this piece certainly sets the standard for the 1901-O. Most of each side is brilliant with beautiful golden-brown rim toning. Fully struck throughout. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. HIGHLIGHT OF THE NIGHT – Up for Auction is a Superb Gem Plus 1893-p Morgan Dollar - Few silver d...moreollars were struck in the midst of the Panic of '93, in part a legacy of the Sherman Silver Purchase Act of 1890, which was repealed in August, 1893. Proof ***Auction Highlight*** PCGS 2000-w Library of Congress Modern Commem $10 Graded pr69 dcam By

Lot # 482 (Sale Order: 339 of 618)

***Auction Highlight*** PCGS 2000-w Library of Congress Modern Commem $10 Graded pr69 dcam By PCGS. in the year 2000, the U.S. Mint produced its first and only rin...moreged bi-metallic coin, which happens to be the 2000 Library of Congress Commemorative $10 coin. It is composed of a .900 fine outer gold ring and a quarter-ounce center of .9995 fine platinum. Noteworthy, the coin also boasts one of the lowest mintages of any modern coin. Not just did the Mint produce these coins out of bi-metallic metals but it also produced the coins out of two very expensive metals. Gold was one of the metals used to produce the coins while platinum was the second metal that was also used. The gold content is located in the outer ring of the coin while the platinum metal is located in the inner ring of the coin.It is unknown why the U.S. Mint chose the Library of Congress Commemorative as its first bi-metallic coin when it could have used any other U.S. coin. However, since the coin was produced for the year 2000, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Mint used this coin to demonstrate its advanced minting techniques in the new millennium year.Despite the coins unique characteristics, it is also one of the lowest mintage commemorative coins in existence. The total mintage of 7,261 coins is a relatively low mintage compared to all other commemorative coins. It contains both a ¼ ounce of platinum and a ¼ ounce of gold.

***Auction Highlight*** 1859-s Seated Half Dollar 50c Graded ms64+ By SEGS (fc)

Lot # 484 (Sale Order: 341 of 618)

***Auction Highlight*** 1859-s Seated Half Dollar 50c Graded ms64+ By SEGS. Exquisite brilliant lightly toned surfaces are sharply struck with a full endowment of ...moreintensely frosted luster. Uncommonly smooth with outstanding visual appeal, this is easily one of the finest certified 1859-S half dollars available to today's discerning collectors. The San Francisco Mint released its first half dollar coinage in 1855, and as with most issues from that coinage facility, virtually all of the mintage was sent immediately into circulation, a scenario that played out annually. Indeed, the 1855-S half dollar is a key date in the design type. By 1859, the San Francisco Mint was churning out half dollars in near-record numbers. Though 566,000 half dollars of this date were struck, their usefulness in commerce was such that today's survivor of the 1859-S issue is apt to be a well worn VG to VF specimen. Higher grade circulated examples are elusive, especially near the Mint State threshold. Few were the collectors in America at that time, especially on the West Coast, and even fewer yet were those who collected branch mint silver coinage. This beautiful Choice half dollar no doubt was saved more by chance than intent. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation

Struck to c...moreommemorate the 250th Anniversary of the Charter of Albany in what was then New Amsterdam, the coin had a very local interest. When examining an Albany Charter look for signs of wear on the beaver’s hip and on Governor Dongan’s sleeve. Untoned and lustrous surfaces grace this gorgeous Superb Gem. Fittingly designed by Gertrude K. Lathrop of Albany, New York, this issue celebrates the 250-year anniversary of the charter of Albany in 1686; well before then and well before the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock, Massachusetts, Dutch and Swedish settlers were farming in the Albany/Hudson River Valley area of New York. A handsome coin fit for one of the finest collections.
