***Auction Highlight*** 2016-W 1/4 oz Gold Standing Liberty Quarter Centennial (w/OGP) (fc)

Lot # 364.5 (Sale Order: 326 of 554)

***Auction Highlight*** 2016-W 1/4 oz Gold Standing Liberty Quarter Centennial (w/OGP). The U.S. Mint issued these 2016-W 1/4 oz Gold Standing Liberty Quarters in cele...morebration of the 100th anniversary of Hermon MacNeil's famous design of the 1916 Standing Liberty Quarter. This coin contains 1/4 oz of .9999 fine Gold. Housed in the original mint box with a certificate of authenticity. Centennial design issued in celebration of the original Standing Liberty Quarter from 1916. The obverse depicts Hermon MacNeil's design featuring a militaristic Lady Liberty holding a shield and olive branch walking through an opening in a wall bearing 13 stars. Inscriptions are "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," "AU24K," "1/4 oz.," and "2016." The reverse depicts an eagle in flight with its wings outstretched. The eagle is flanked by 13 stars, seven on the left and six on the right. This was the original design by Hermon A. MacNeil. Produced by the U.S. Mint at West Point, N.Y. This special 100th anniversary coin was issued in memory of the popular 1916 Standing Liberty Quarter and features 1/4 oz of .9999 fine Gold making this coin a great addition to both numismatic & investment portfolios. This is the second coin in the series commemorating the coins minted during the Renaissance in American coinage called for by President Theodore Roosevelt. Though the original Standing Liberty Quarter was struck in Silver, it is now celebrated in .9999 fine Gold giving great detail to its timeless design. The original Standing Liberty quarter was struck from 1916 to 1930. The Standing Liberty was struck at the Philadelphia Mint during this time period except in 1922, when no quarters were struck at any mint in the United States. This beautiful coin has a circulation strike finish and a reeded edge. The Gold Standing Liberty is the second of three coins the U.S. Mint released to celebrate popular designs introduced 100 years ago.

***Auction Highlight*** 1927-p Peace Dollar $1 Graded Choice+ Unc by USCG (fc)

Lot # 366 (Sale Order: 328 of 554)

***Auction Highlight*** 1927-p Peace Dollar $1 Graded Choice+ Unc by USCG. The 27-p is the big sleeper of numismatics in my opinion. It has the 2nd lowest mintage in th...moree whole Peace dollar series. Lower than the 34-s, the 21-p, yet it does not command its proper value. Good coin to own multiple of and save, in my opinion, but if you've been coming to our auctions for a while you will have seen that this has always been my opinion.

***Auction Highlight*** Morgan dollar roll ends 1895 & 'o', Better than average circ (fc)

Lot # 383 (Sale Order: 345 of 554)

***Auction Highlight*** Morgan dollar roll ends 1895 & 'o', Better than average circ. Great Original Roll of Morgan Dollars. The roll is held in an old "Steel Strong ...moreAutomatic" Wrapper Dated from 1921. The Roll is also faintly stamped "Banker Trust of Philadelphia, Central City Office, Walnut Street at Juniper". I researched that name and the Bank closed in the post-Crash of '29 Depression period (my research showed that it failed on Dec 22, 1930). The Two ends showing are the obverse of an 1895, and the other end has a near uncirculated 'o' New Orleans Mint Reverse. We received this incredible consignment from a private collector while at the Baltimore show. The consignee gave us his father's entire estate hoard of shotgun rolled coins. We have had great feedback on the rolls so far. Your choice to open the shotgun roll or leave it as is, but if you do open the Roll, please let us know what you find.
