The pistol shows scattered original blue finish in protected areas with the left side of the frame and butt strap stamped, “AM EX CO 668”. The checkered hard rubber grips are in very good condition with flea bite nicks at the edge of the left grip and the lanyard ring is retained. Colt Single Action Army Revolver in .38-40 caliber with a 4 ¾” barrel, patina finish, and hard rubber grips, S/N 301253 and made in territorial era 1907. All matching ...morenumbers. Markings are visible but caliber and address is a little light. The front sight has been slimmed slightly. Gray to brown patina finish with light erosion and scattered light to moderate pitting. Original grips worn from carry and use. Two frame screws have been replaced and the cylinder pin is also replaced. The action is good and the bore is fair. The ejector rod housing has been re-blued. U.S. Model 1814 Common rifle by Henry Derringer with a 33 3/16” barrel marked with a large U.S. on the lock and H. Derringer, Phila. Also marked in two lines on the ...morebarrel, .54 caliber rifled and expertly re-converted back to flintlock from percussion. The stock shows some restoration and refinishing and a couple areas of small losses of wood during use. Only 2,000 were delivered by H. Derringer, who’s name became infamous with the Lincoln assassination pistol. The rifle is in N.R.A. good overall condition. Est.: $1,400-$2,800. (Antique).

Colt SAA Revolver in .44-40 caliber with a 7 ½” barrel, blue and case colored finish, and hard rubber grips, S/N 170789 made in 1897. This revolver remains in very goo...mored plus original condition with 50%-70% original blue and case colors evenly aging and going to light natural patina where finish has drifted. Good roll die marked “Colt Frontier Six Shooter” barrel marking and other marks also sharp. Matching numbers. The grips fit impeccably and show slight wear to the checkering but good plus to very good overall. The front sight is its full height with all the blue and correct hammer shows most of the case colors still very colorful. Good mechanically with bright bore. A pleasing Pre-98 Colt that rates a solid 7.5-8 on a 1-10 scale and very desirable. Factory letter states .44/40 caliber, 7 ½” barrel, blue finish, rubber stocks, shipped to: Simmons Hardware Company, St. Louis, Missouri, July 1, 1897, 2 guns in shipment. U.S. Model 1841 Mississippi rifle by Harper’s Ferry Arsenal, dated 1847 (Mexican War Period). The rear sight has been removed and the barrel shows an old fill with th...moree dovetail moved forward to just behind the rear band (sight ultimately removed), front sight shows a blade and post of the period replaced, also by a gunsmith. There is a sheet of copper shield added beneath the hammer to protect and repair the stock for cap explosion and burning. The lock markings are good with 75% of the eagle showing. The metal shows minor aging and pitting. The stock is weathered and has wear from carry and use. Inside the patch box and extra nipple is retained along with two extra ramrod tips for pulling balls and original style ram rod also included. Shows 3 inspections by George Talcott, 2 “W.J.”, 1 “J.H.K.”, 2 “J.W.”, 2 “Y” and 1 by “J.H.” (John Hawkins). There is a small whole 4-5mm, drilled by front bank on the left side, presumably for mounting. The stock is fair to good and sound, just carried a long while and probably went West after the

U.S. Model 1847 Springfield Cavalry Musketoon dated 1858, in .69 caliber smooth bore which remains in N.R.A. good to very good condition with saddle ring bar and ring ...more retained. The gun has gone to a patina finish with light to moderate pitting and erosion. A very good eagle and markings on the lock. J.W.P. carved in the left buttstock and IIIA and an A on the right. There is a “5” neatly engraved on top of the rear band, the nipple has been replaced and the action is good. Two nails have been added to secure a piece of wood behind the hammer during use. There is a good patina on the brass and original swivel ramrod. Est.: $1,750-$3,500. (Antique).

U.S. Model 1803 flintlock rifle by Harper’s Ferry Arsenal dated 1817, in .54 caliber with a 36” barrel and open sights on the rear of the barrel, which is correct on t...morehe later production (See Flayderman’s 9A-114). Original flintlock configuration with correct hammer, frizzen and parts. Full eagle with U.S. and good arsenal marks and date. The stock has been lightly refreshed with traces of original browning on the barrel and some wood loss around the tang and lock. Light to moderate pitting at the breech and firing areas. Correct rod and an extra old rod that is over length and has always been with this rifle. The rifle has been bored out to .58 caliber and is rifled, possibly arsenal, as it was period done, possibly during the Civil War. No markings visible on the breech, on the left side. U.S. Model 1797 Springfield flintlock musket in .69 caliber with bayonet and rod. In original flintlock configuration, Type I with a 44 ½” barrel (No visible date on ...morethe butt plate). Eagle over U.S. in script and Springfield in curve at rear of lock, with a 1 ¼” lug for bayonet mounted at muzzle with bayonet. Original swivels, original full-length configuration with the correct hammer, frizzen and small parts. Dark uncleaned patina with minor pitting and erosion. The stock is good for its age with small losses around the rear of the lock and tang and along the ram rod channel. There are other minor imperfections, the bayonet shows light to heavy pitting. The first musket made at Springfield Armory of which about 25,000 were made and mostly shortened. A better than average example from an early collectors estate. Est.: $1,750-$3,500+++. (Antique).

U.S. Arms Co. (Chicago, Illinois) .22 caliber, knife pistol circa 1915-1916 marked-“PATENT PAID FOR” and “DEFENDER” on both blades. Approximately 3 1/8” in overall lengt...moreh when folded, including original chamois leather case. Invented by L.L. Rogers, Boston, Mass. And showing 1.5” and 1.25” folding blades with a German steel body and steel blades. A research folder accompanies the lots with 1916 era advertisements in outing magazines showing this type of oddity. Also, a newsletter from the automatic knife resource guide & newsletter with an article on this subject weapon. A handful of L.L. Rogers knife/pistols of this type are known (less than 5) and it is the only example marked, “PATENT PAID FOR” indicating early production or prototype for display. This piece has been in local family since before WWII. The condition is near fine but action needs repair and not working. The side scales are removable by screws making repair relatively simple. Classified as curio and relic under National Firearms Act Section IV-(3A-Pg.90-91). Est.: $2,000-$4,000.

Notarized document dated March 13, 1995 states Massman was assigned to Co. D 179th Inf. Reg., 45 Div., 7th Army, and he took the books from Hitler’s office. Also stated Massman was a special service interrogator. Copy of article dated Wednesday May 14, 1986 in “The Daily Herald” United Pres International described the two edition along with other artifacts Massman liberated and sold to the Seven Acres Military Museum in Union, Illinois. Listed as lot #900 in the sale of this military museum on Monday, Aug 21, 1995. The condition of the books is near fine with cardboard original cover inscribed to Mary by Massman stating “I got these right out of Hitler’s library, Bill”. As found 18th century American “Kentucky” flintlock pistol with side plate stamped, “Revolutionary War. 1776. Captain Daniel Reiff.” The pistol is 13 ¼” in overall l...moreength with an 8” octagon barrel of .52 caliber plus smoothbore with brass mounts. The stocks show most of the original reddish color violin type varnish with minor nicks, mars and scratches. There is a crack behind the top rear area of the lock that extends to the tang. The ram rod is missing. An original flintlock with correct small parts, completely uncleaned and unrestored as discovered by Walter J. O’Connor in the Pasadena area in the late 80’s-90’s and sold by Little John’s for the Reiff descendants almost 30 years ago. Unfortunately, the information on Reiff was lost but Little John recalls he was from Pennsylvania, possibly the Lancaster area. Est.: $3,500-$7,000.

Unsigned with Belgian proofed barrels, near fine condition with 80-90% plus original blue and case hardened finishes aging naturally. The stocks are beautifully carved and near fine. The case is lined in purple velveteen and very good plus with slight aging and imperfections. The actions work well and the accessories are proper to the set (extra nipples and key in cap tin box).
