20IO-2 COLT LONDON NAVY

Colt 1851 London Navy .36 caliber percussion revolver, factory engraved in the original case, Serial #2032. In original good to very good condition showing 30-50% ori...moreginal blue on the barrel with visible case color within a light grey patina on the frame. The cylinder shows 50% plus thinning and toning blue with most of the original cylinder scene and Ormsby signature slightly light but visible. There are minor areas of pitting near the end of the barrel. The grips are deluxe burl wood showing 50-70% of the original varnish and just normal aging and loss of finish. The grips fit impeccably. All matching with sharp markings, crisp action and all six safety pins retained. The engraving is typical London style with a hand cut Colt’s Patent in banner on the left side of the frame. The English style partition case is lined in red velveteen and shows an authentic instruction label. Includes a Bartram and Company bag flask in very good condition, along with a mold and wrench showing 75% plus bright blue, and a cap tin with no label. No compartment cover

Magnificent pair of 18th century European royal quality flintlock horseman’s size pistols with richly gilt ornate cast brass mountings. The pair are of generous prop...moreortions measuring 22” in overall length with 14 ¼” barrels of approximately .60 caliber smoothbore. The barrels are fully and finely engraved from tang to muzzle with significant traces of gold gilt around the stand of arms and floral engraving. The locks and mounts are also finely engraved in a similar motif along with an unusual frizzen spring cover or protector. The side plates are pierced as is the plaque inlaid in the wrist. The bulbous butts show raised relief stands of arms. The hammers and frizzens are original and the pair are in their original flintlock configuration. The stocks show incised and raised carving. The origin, in our opinion, is Southern Germany or possibly Carlsbadian and though not signed, are excellent quality and possibly made at a royal workshop. Armi-Famars Italian custom order 12 gauge SxS exposed hammer, self-cocking shotgun with exquisitely engraved game scene signed,“Severin”. The barrels measure 28” wit...moreh a low rise, non-filled rib showing gold inlayed name and gold bands at the breech end. The shotgun features double triggers with auto ejectors. The lot includes a set of six Briley screw-in choke tubes with tool. The finely checkered stock measures 14 ¼” to the end of a thin pad, with a neutral cast and 1” drop at the comb. The shotgun is in excellent condition showing little, if any use. The shotgun comes with a high quality Famars luggage case. Newly discovered Colt U.S. Model Single Action Army revolver in .45 Colt caliber with the barrel reduced to 6” and all matching numbers, Serial #131920. The excellent ca...morertouched grips show a crisp R.A.C. inspection dated 1890. The barrel was shortened and the original front sight was carefully dove tailed into the barrel. The pistol shows 90-95% plus bright original blue and fiery case hardening. The interior is excellent and the bore is bright. The action is working correctly. The barrel is “R.A.C.” marked and proofed. The serial number on barrel matches once ejector rod housing is removed. There is bright blue on the screws. Note: Serial number 131928went to the Cebu Police in the Philippines and is also near Rough Rider and New York militia arms listed in the Kopec and Fenn book. The factory letter states; .45 caliber, barrel not listed, blue finish, stocks not listed, sold to the U.S. Government, delivered to the inspector at the Colt plant, April 30, 1890 with 300 guns in shipment. Fine original cased 1851 London Navy Percussion revolver in .36 caliber, S/N 36226. This stunning Colt shows deluxe checkered select wood grips which are a scarce option ...moreavailable on London arms. This navy retains 95%+ bright and “Inky” original blue on the barrel with minor loss and aging. The cylinder shows a strong 80%-90% original blue with all its original scene and clear engagement dates at front edge. The frame, lever and hammer show 85%-95% rainbow colored case hardening. The back strap and trigger guard show 50%-70% thinning blue at gripping areas. The grips are fine with minor “Bumps”. The blonde oak original case is also fine with full original trade label and lined with green velveteen. The lining is very good plus to fine with minor impressions, slight imperfections and small losses. The “Colt’s Navy Flask” by James Dixon retains 90%-95% lacquer with bright blue on the spring. The mold is unused with most mottled blue and some surface erosion, excellent blued nipple wrench, correct rod, compartment cover, key, unopened navy skins and Dixon marked capper also included. A strong 9-9.5 on a 1-10 scale that would be difficult to upgrade as the pistol shows almost “No use”. Gary Wiemann collection. (Antique) Est.: $9,000-$18,000

The rifle shows 75%-85% of the original blue finish with natural toning and aging along with just beginning light erosion. The stocks are very good plus with normal aging and minor imperfections. The action is sound with a bright bore. The rifle is a 7 ½-8 on a scale of 1-10. A nice rifle. Est.: $1,750-$3,500. (C+R).

Colt Model 1911 U.S. Government Property marked .45 auto, #492621. The Goddard book, page #245 lists the pistol as shipped to the Brooklyn Naval Yard on November 5, 1...more918. In good condition with traces of original blue, some minor erosion and pitting by the left front of the muzzle. Good markings including an S-17 eagle proof on the left side of the frame above the magazine release and “27” on the trigger guard. No U.S. property on the frame with very good grips and a two-tone Colt clip. Sound mechanically with a good and shiny bore, some cleaning on the breech and the end of the barrel. Scratches partially obscure a small proof mark (H.P.) which is correct and this 1911 is as issued. Est.: $1,250-$2,500. (C+R/PPT).

20HI-68 ITHACA MDL 4-E

Lot # 311a (Sale Order: 389 of 1164)      

Ithaca Model 4-E, 12 gauge, single barrel Trap shotgun with a 30” Improved Modified to Full choked barrel. The shotgun is nicely engraved with trap shooter on the lef...moret side and an American eagle on the right, surrounded by quality scroll engraving. The select fancy checkered wood stocks are fine. The barrel and frame retain 90-95% original toning blue finish and case colors with some minor loss and normal aging. The stock has been professionally refinished and spacers added to extend the pistol grip cap. The wood still fits well and is not down against the metal indicating little to no sanding. The stocks are very good with some scratches and sharp carving. The LOP is 13” to the end of the wood and 13 ¾” to the end of a thin pad (with a thicker pad, the LOP would easily extend to 14”-14 ¼”). The pad is only ½” thick. A nice 4-E with exceptionally good engraving. Est.: $1,500-$3,000. (C+R).

The pistol retains approximately 95-98% of the blue finish with a high quality restoration of the frame. The pistol features the early hollow lug with a ramped front blade and adjustable rear sights. The checkered wood medallion grips are in about excellent condition with sharp checkering. The bore is very good, the action is crisp and the markings are sharp on this early Python.
