Lot # 117 (Sale Order: 151 of 1164)      

Springfield Model 1855 rifled musket with a Maynard type primer style device dated 1858. Iron mounts with brass fore end cap. The .58 caliber percussion musket has a...more 40” round barrel secured by three bands, with a long range rear sight. Good eagle and lock markings, the metal shows some light to moderate erosion and some heavier pitting at the breech behind the nipple from firing. The stock is fair to good with minor losses along the ramrod channel and cracks beneath the lock plate screw. The butt plate is rusty, the lock works well and the nipple has been replaced, with the ramrod included. The John Brown era musket has been bored out to smooth and the muzzle is pitted. Est.: $500-$1,000. (Antique).

Grooved pump handle, 32” barrel, e...morexposed hammer, steel butt plate. The shotgun is in poor to nearly fair overall condition with little finish and large spots of rust from poor storage. The wood is better with dents and scratches from use. It is however a rarely seen shotgun. U.S. Model 1861 musket marked, New York with eagle and dated 1863. The .58 caliber rifled musket was manufactured by Sarson and Roberts, subcontracted by Alfred Jenks...more of Philadelphia. The musket is one of approximately 5,140 manufactured. The musket shows gray/brown patina finish with scattered light pitting and good lock markings. The lock works well and the musket has been bored out to smooth. The stock is fair to good with minor imperfections and an old repair using filler to the bottom of the fore end about 1 ½” in length and ¼” - ½” in width. The sights, bands and ram rod are retained. Enfield Pattern 1853 percussion musket with a stud for a saber bayonet. The .58 caliber rifled musket has iron mounts and a 31 ½” barrel. The lock is marked, “R.T.” ...more(Possibly indicating Pritchett) in block letters. The musket shows scattered light to slightly heavy pitting with old chemical cleaning to grey metal. The stock is only fair with losses around the butt plate. The barrel has been bored out to smooth bore, with the nipple protector retained and no ramrod. Robert Taylor Pritchett (R.T.) was a well-known exporter to the Confederacy and the musket retains a paper tag (#25) from the Fred Slayton Confederate Arms collection circa 1989. Est.: $700-$1,400. 20IU-2 SILVER MTD/CARVED PEARL GRIP HUNTING SWORD

18th century silver mounted with carved pearl grip hunting sword, probably French with an engraved sun on the blade and an original silver mounted scabbard. The sword...more is 25 ¼” in overall length with a 20” blade. The blade shows some pitting, erosion and a dark uncleaned patina. The grip is very well preserved as is the wire wrapping and thin sheet silver guard. The scabbard is very good for its age with minor losses and normal aging. There are some dents to the throat and tip. A very small silver proof is visible on the guard and on the center hanger of the scabbard but is not decipherable. From the era of Louis the “Sun King”. U.S. Model 1816 dated Springfield .69 caliber musket dated 1817 with North Carolina markings on the barrel. An original flintlock with the correct hammer, frizzen an...mored small parts, heavy and dark patina with scattered light to moderate pitting. The lock markings are visible but slightly light. The proofs and North Carolina markings are discernable and an extra hole has been drilled 5” down the barrel on the left side (reason unknown-Dewat?). The ramrod is period replaced. The stock shows breaks, old repairs and cracks and is in fair to poor condition. A secondary Confederate Civil War musket last sold in the Fred Slayton collection according to the consignor. The musket is in NRA Good overall condition with light to moderate scattered erosion and pitting. Good lock marking, the stock shows some wood loss at the top left edge and typical dings, mars and scratches. Correct style ramrod channel. The lock needs minor adjustment and working imperfectly.
