The metal surfaces retain nearly all of their blue finish with light handling marks. The barrel is marked, “MADE IN JAPAN” and will chamber 2 ¾” and 3” shells. The receiver and trigger guard feature light scroll engraving. The checkered wood stocks are in very good condition with storage marks. Authentic Colt Conversion of 1861 Navy to .38 caliber centerfire with “Original” Tiffany grips showing Civil War battle scenes, S/N 8875. Fully and finely deluxe scrol...morel engraved by L.D. Nimschke. This Colt remains in very good plus to almost fine condition showing most of its original silver-plated finish toned to natural patina. The markings are sharp, and the edges are crisp with all matching serial numbers. The grips are crisp and well defined and are among the most documented in the Colt collecting world. Provenance: The Charlie Schreiner collection illustrated in full color on page 258 “The Texas Gun Collectors Antique Arm Annual 1971”, “The Colt Engraving Book” (Vol I Page 295), and “The Study of Colt Conversions” by McDowell who describes this revolver “As the most often photographed and most valuable Tiffany gripped Model 1861 factory engraved revolver”. The metal surfaces retain the majority of their blue finish with wear at the muzzle and small mars consistent with field use. The 98 Mauser action has a butter knife bolt handle which has been bent for scope mounting and magazine release button in front of the trigger guard. The smooth custom Myrtle wood stock has an exaggerated pistol grip with palm swell and a “California Rollover” cheek piece. The butt stock ends with a Pachmayr Whiteline ventilated rubber pad providing a 13 ½” LOP. The rifle is topped with a Bausch & Lomb Balvar 8A 2.5 x 8 variable power rifle scope with clear, crisp optics. The lot includes 100+ pieces of fire formed brass and a custom set of RCBS dies. 19JG-2 JOSEPH LURCH CIVIL WAR ERA RIFLE

Unique Joseph Lurch Civil War era air rifle, .26 caliber, Serial #NSNV. The rifle is in fair overall condition with a 21 ¾” octagon barrel marked, “JOS LURCH NY”. Th...moree metal surfaces have gone to a blotchy grey patina with light to moderate surface rust and pinprick pitting on the receiver. The trigger guard, rear portion of the action and butt plate are all brass. The air rifle is driven by a spring piston with the brass pump handle in the comb of the stock. According to the consignor, the rifle is non-functioning at this time and is missing part of the trigger sear assembly. The smooth wood stock is in good condition with mars and bruising. The butt stock has an exaggerated cheek piece and ends with a smooth brass butt plate. This is a truly unique and striking piece that deserves further research. Est.: $500-$1,000.
