19RH-7 FULL STOCK KENTUCKY

Fullstock Kentucky rifle signed “T.N.” in script engraved and pierced patch box. 13 nicely engraved silver inlays with 2 missing on under portion of fore end area. Dou...moreble set triggers and lock plate secured by 1 screw. Measures 58” overall with a 43” barrel of slightly heavy weight in .36 caliber rifled measuring ¾” across the center of the muzzle. The wood shows “Burnt” or artificial stripping and remains in good condition with normal wear and minor scratching. Darkening around cheek piece from “many Campfires”. Large V notch rear sight with blade front. Dark patina on metal surfaces with light to moderate erosion and pitting. The action and triggers work well. Very attractive patch box and a quality early percussion rifle. (Antique) Est.: $1250-$2500

“A. Gibbs Lancaster PA” marked American combo rifle/Shotgun circa about 1850-60s. Measures 53 ½” overall with 38” barrels. The right barrel is .36 caliber rifled and t...morehe left is almost .45 caliber smoothbore. Interesting difference of sights on the barrel as rifle barrel has Winchester style buck horn with lifter and large blade front. Smoothbore sight is fixed with small blade. Engraved and pierced patch box. Small fox inlay in butt stock with 5 pointed “Texas” style star on underside of fore end. 2 other simple German silver inlays. The rifle barrel has a set trigger and actions work well. Deep brown patina finish with scattered light to slightly heavier pitting. The breech end shows a good deal of firing and use. The stocks are good with light cleaning long ago but no sanding. Small losses along the top edges of stock. A very well recognized and desirable maker. D. Douglas stamped full stocked Kentucky rifle with pierced and engraved patch box and 6 silver inlays including oval plaque over cheek piece with stylized engraved ea...moregle. D. Douglas is listed 1854-62 in Mark Township, Huntington County Penn. The rifle measures 54 ½” overall with a 40” slightly heavy weight barrel of approximately .40-41 caliber rifled. Measures 7/8” across center of the muzzle. The metal shows an even gray brown patina with minor erosion and pitting. The lock is almost working but needs adjustment or minor repair. The stock is good plus other than missing fore end cap with splits and breaks in the area. (Antique) Est.: $1400-$2800

Full stocked percussion Kentucky rifle with barrel engraved “A.M.” in script. The lock is marked “Bird Bros, Philadelphia”. Measures 57” overall with a 43” barrel of ....more41 caliber rifled. Sleek styling with narrow butt measuring only 3 5/8” from top to the bottom of butt plate at heel. Set trigger with engraved patch box. The stock is fair to good and would have been very good except large sliver of wood missing at the top left forward edge of the stock approximately 10” x ¼” also some damage to toe and blackening of stock which may hide damage or filled in wood on the left rear of buttstock (Sounds worse than it really is). The action works well but the nipple is missing. From an old Northern California collection found between Clear Lake and Happy Camp. (Antique) Est.: $1250-$2500

Collath Franfurt signed drilling with its original claw mounted scope in 12GA over 9.3 x 80 marked rifled barrel. The barrels measure 26 1/8” and measures 42 ½” overal...morel. Very good plus to almost fine condition with 80%-90% original toning blue on the barrels marked “Tesco” and “Laufverschraubung” at the breech with nitro proofs. 30%-50% case colors drifting to silver gray. Classic German styling with sling swivels and bullet trap in belly. Set trigger and rifle barrel selector. The bores are bright. The scope has military style reticule and is very clear also marked “Skopar S Volgtlander Braunsweig N010244”. A classic G.I. bring back purchased by M.D. 50+ years ago in Northern California. Mark...moreed 16GA/8.8MM with nitro proofs and Krupp steel. The barrels show 95% plus original blue with most case colors just faded slightly. Mounts for claw scope, cocking indicators, side safety, and set triggers on rifle barrel. The stocks are in very good plus to almost fine condition also and the fore end is an old well matched replacement. The bores are bright and the gun is mechanically sound. Very impressive. Antique possibly period copy of Colt No. 2 pocket Paterson cased in book casing with capper in .34 caliber with 2 ¾” barrel properly addressed Patent Arms etc. Shows ...morevery faint traces of cylinder scene and cleverly aged. This is absolute best old copy of a No. 2 Paterson that Little John has examined in more than 50 years of actively collecting and appraising Paterson’s. It is his belief that this pistol was made more than 50 years ago in England and he first examined it in 1970s when purchased by Robin Rapely noted Colt author who bought it as an original from Mid-West dealer. The book case is of wood and lined in velvet with brass trim. A copy that has fooled several experts. Works well and aged to appear “Antique”. The estate of “Pete” Peterson. Approxima...moretely 90%-95% original blue remains on the barrel and tube with crisp edges and sharp markings. The frame retains 75%-85% original blue with minor aging and toning along with beginning erosion. The stocks are very good plus to almost fine with very minor marks and scratches. Shows case colors within browning patina on the hammer and lever. 90% bright blue on loading gate. The action is tight and the bore is very bright. Sharp .38 cal. on lifter. A strong 8.5 on a 1-10 scale. (Antique) Est.: $2500-$5000
