Our Assessment: The Colt Cobra was one of Colt’s most successful lightweight revolvers, introduced in 1950 as an upgraded, alloy-framed variant of the Colt Detective Special. The first-generation Cobra, like this 1974 example, was chambered in .38 Special and was a preferred choice for law enforcement, concealed carry, and personal defense due to its lightweight design and reliable action.
This particular nickel-finished Cobra is in Like New condition and comes with its original factory box, making it an outstanding collector’s piece. The nickel finish gives it a striking appearance while also offering excellent durability.
Finding a first-generation Colt Cobra in this condition is exceedingly rare, and examples like this one continue to appreciate in value. Our Assessment: In 1955, the United States launched the first nuclear-powered submarine, West Germany joined NATO, Disneyland opened to the public, and Colt began shipping the finest precision combat and target revolver ever made. Each revolver was hand-tuned at the factory and this attention to detail is exemplified both cosmetically and in operation. With barrel lengths ranging from 2.5" to 8" and with some of the finest machining and finishing ever seen in the industry, the Python has earned its reputation and continues to be sought after to this day.
This example is one of 500 "Combat Pythons" ordered by the distributor Lew Horton (an additional 300 were made for the international market). The revolver is in Excellent condition, appearing to have seen little if any use since leaving the factory. The Colt Python revolvers are no longer being made like the originals, so the price for these fantastic weapons are just going to continue to appreciate. The revolvers by themselves are becoming harder and harder to find, making it difficult to bring oneself to actually fire a Python. This rare example will make a wonderful addition to any collection. Please see our photos and good luck!

The 5th Type variation, as seen in this example, represents one of the later refinements in the series, making it a desirable variant for collectors.
With about 95% of its original finish intact and only minor wear, this is an outstanding example of an early American semi-automatic pistol. The discoloration in the walnut grips is typical for a firearm of this age but does not detract from its historical appeal. Given the relatively low production numbers and the unique caliber, these pistols are highly sought after by collectors of early auto-loading handguns.
For collectors of early Smith & Wesson firearms or historical semi-automatics, this Model 1913 is an excellent acquisition. It represents a pivotal moment in S&W’s history and remains a fine example of early 20th-century firearm design.

Despite the title 'Hammerless', the M1903 and M1908 pistols do have a hammer, which is covered and hidden from view under the rear of the slide. This allowed the weapon to be carried in and withdrawn from a pocket quickly and smoothly without snagging. These pistols were popular civilian firearms for much of their life, and also served as United States General Officer pistols from the 1940s until their replacement by the M15 General Officers pistol in the 1970s. The Office of Strategic Services issued the Model 1903 to its officers during World War II and it was a popular back-up/off-duty model with police officers in the United States. Gangsters also favored this pistol, including Bonnie Parker and John Dillinger.
This is a fairly early Colt 1903 Pocket Hammerless semi-auto made in 1909. It is a Type II which has a separate barrel bushing and screw-secured safety lever. This pistol is in Very Good condition with 75% of its original blued finish remaining and strong mechanics, though the bore shows signs of use with corrosive ammunition. This Type II Pocket Hammerless would make a nice addition to a collection missing one of the early variants. Good luck and happy bidding!

Our Assessment: The Ordnance Department of the U.S. Army convened a board of two men, Capt. John t. Thompson and Maj. Louis A. La Garde to determine a minimum handgun caliber for use by the U.S. Military in 1903. In 1904, a month before the report was released, Union Metallic Cartridge Company (U.M.C.) received “figures for the proposed ctgs.”. UMC began work on cartridges, and shortly thereafter Colt set to work experimenting on a .45 caliber pistol based on their 1902 Military model. U.M.C. came up with a rimless .45 cartridge that they were producing by April 1905. Meanwhile, Colt had John M. Browning try to figure out how to handle the stresses caused by higher powered cartridges using the M1902 pistol as a baseline.
By May 1905, Browning had applied for a patent covering a new barrel design with locking lugs on the bottom to lock it to the frame. In 1907, Army tests began on guns from 8 different manufacturers, which was narrowed down to Colt’s Model 1905 and pistols from Savage and Luger. Changes were requested, and Colt came up with a prototype of the new Model 1907 by Sept.1907. Only about 207 of this new model were made, making them some of the most desired collector guns in the world. Further modifications resulted in the Model 1911, which was adopted by the Army and is still in use until this day as the M1911-A1. Although the M1905 wasn’t adopted by the Army, they were made and sold commercially except for those used in government testing. The oil polished mirror finish Colt put on the pistols, with a fire blue or case-colored finish on the smaller parts, made them very desirable.
This M1905 pistol was made in 1907, toward the beginning of production. The pistol is in Very Good condition as refinished. The grips have light wear for their age. This model, along with its M1900 and M1902 predecessors, is a must-have amongst Colt collectors as being the first of the large framed Colt semi-automatics. As only 6,210 of the M1905 pistols were made, they become even more desirable with every passing year. We expect the collectors of Colt autos are going to be interested in this pistol. Please see our photos and good luck!

Our Assessment: The Colt 1911 .45 ACP semi-automatic pistol was designed by the legendary firearms inventor John Moses Browning, and developed for the US Army. The Model 1911 was the end-result of a series of developments by Browning, starting with his Model 1900. The advances made by Browning were revolutionary at the time, and were so successful that they are considered commonplace today. Browning not only developed first a pivoting and then a tilting barrel to allow for a locked system, but he also developed the concept of "the slide", a feature now synonymous with semi-automatic handguns. Colt also found great commercial success with the design, dubbing it the "Government Model".
This is a 1930 vintage Government Model that comes with a handsome display case fit for the pistol and a .22 Conversion Unit. The set will make a wonderful display in any collection. Please see our photos and good luck!

Our Assessment: The 1911 is one of the best pistols ever designed, seeing use in the US Military for the better part of a century and dominating pistol shooting sports for decades. It has seen quite a bit of foreign service from Britain and Russia during the Great War to the Army and Navy of Argentina who purchased from Colt between 1919 and 1941, eventually licensing production in their country.
This is a very interesting and particularly scarce example of a 1941 vintage Colt Government Model purchased by the Argentine Navy. In that year, 500 commercial pistols were purchased "off-the-shelf", with 250 shipped directly to Buenos Aires and the other 250 shipped to the Argentine Naval Commission in Washington, D.C. Upon reaching Argentina, they would be given Argentine Naval and Argentine crest markings on the slide. This example, despite having a serial-matching slide, does not bear any Argentine markings, though Colt records do indicate it shipped to the Naval Commission. Most likely used for the annual US Navy vs Argentinian Navy pistol competition. Due to all of Colt's manufacture going to the military, there were very few commercial Colt 1911s produced during 1941, and this example also has the rare Swartz safety.
It is a beautiful Government Model with a very interesting history, perfect for any collection.

Our Assessment: Colt’s 1911 served the United States military through two World Wars and several other conflicts, is still in use by some units today, and has become popular with law enforcement, competitors, and recreational shooters across the nation. The design has seen some updates including a firing-pin block safety, higher profile sights, and more ergonomic grips, but the basic design and fantastic trigger remain the same after more than a century. It appears to have seen little if any use since leaving the factory. If you’re looking for your first 1911 or your last, this would be a good pony to add to the stable.

Browning not only developed first a pivoting and then a tilting barrel to allow for a locked system, but he also developed the concept of ""the slide"", a feature now synonymous with semi-automatic handguns. Having secured the contract for the Model 1911 US military issue sidearm, Colt also offered the pistol to the commercial market as the ""Government Model"". Many Government Model 1911s were privately purchased by servicemen who may not have otherwise been issued a pistol, especially after the US entered WW1 in April 1917. While serial number records show approximately 22,000 Government Models produced in 1917, those numbers include Colt's foreign contracts, thus there were significantly few available for the domestic US market.
This Government Model was made in 1917, just around the time that America entered the Great War, and is in Very Good condition as Refinished. It has been equippd with WWII-era grips along with its new finish. It has a couple of interesting markings, with the top of the frame marked ""G"" and the bottom of the slide marked ""89177"". Slides wouldn't be numbered by Colt until late 1920 and the typical Commercial Government model would be marked ""S"" on top of the frame for ""Sales"". The ""G"" marking was typically for military Model 1911 pistols, for ""Government"". It's very likely that the frame was originally produced for the US Army, but was rejected for some minor reason that the factory later addressed before assembly into a Commercial pistol. That may explain the slide serial marking, or it was simply applied later. Overall, this is a neat example of a Colt Commercial Government Model 1911 from the Great War era.
