1997 Colt Anaconda MM3080 8" .44 Magnum Double Action Revolver & Box

Lot # 226 (Sale Order: 226 of 391)

1997 Colt Anaconda MM3080 8" .44 Magnum Double Action Revolver & Box

Our Assessment: Colt introduced the Anaconda built on a new, heavy "AA" frame to compete with the Ruger Redhawk and S&W Model 29 revolvers. Our impression is that this revolver probably offers a smoother double action pull than the Ruger and is more rugged than the S&W. This revolver is great for hunting using .44 Magnum cartridges and with .44 Special for casual days at the range. This pistol comes in its original plastic case and with a letter from Colt. As this revolver has factory porting, it will be more comfortable to shoot than many .44 Magnums, but it will also make a tempting item for a Colt collection, especially with the box and letter. This revolver is in excellent condition with about 98% of its stainless finish and little sign of use. Please see our photos and good luck!

The crane cut and crane are marked "MM94896". The left side of the frame is marked with a Rampant Colt logo. The front top left side of the trigger guard is marked with the Verified Proof and the rear top left side is marked with a "G".

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a ramped blade with orange insert pinned to the rib. The rear sight is a square notched white outlined leaf adjustable for windage and elevation fixed to the frame.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece black checkered rubber with finger grooves and silver Rampant Colt medallions. There are a few minor handling marks and the left panel has a small mar on its rear toward the bottom. The grips rate in about Fine-plus overall condition.

Very Rare 4" Colt Boa .357 Magnum Double Action Revolver, Model V5041

Lot # 227 (Sale Order: 227 of 391)

Very Rare 4" Colt Boa .357 Magnum Double Action Revolver, Model V5041

Our Assessment: This Boa is the 4" model and is in about excellent condition with a great bore. A common misconception of the Colt Boa is that it is a special version of the Colt Python revolver. In reality, the Boa was a cross between a Python and a Trooper Mk V. The Boa features the improvements of the Colt Trooper Mk V, including an improved smoother trigger with shorter lock-time. This Colt is a Rare and desirable revolver and much sought after by serious collectors of Colt revolvers. The Boa was made in a limited run of only 1,200 revolvers for the Lew Horton Distributing Company in Massachusetts of which 600 were made with 4" barrels and 600 with 6" barrels. The Colt Boa is one of the scarcest of the Colt "serpent" guns and this undoubtedly a terrific find for any serious Colt collector worth his salt! Colt collectors pay attention here one of only 600 produced and in 99% condition.

Our Assessment: In 1989, Colt and Western Hoegee of Glendale, California entered a joint venture and released the King Cobra CCL, a limited edition 2.5" King Cobra which had never been released by Colt before. Just 250 (expressed as CCL in Roman numerals) of these special edition .357 revolvers were produced and were destined to become collector's items. Those familiar with the Serpent line understand the accuracy these revolvers are capable of, this one should prove to be no different. excellent Colt King Cobra SB3BB .357 Magnum Double Action Revolver & Box

Lot # 239 (Sale Order: 239 of 391)

excellent Colt King Cobra SB3BB .357 Magnum Double Action Revolver & Box

Our Assessment: One of Colt's "Seven Serpents", the original King Cobra was a medium-frame 6-shot .357 revolver. It had the looks of a Python with lock work more similar to the venerable Trooper line of revolvers. The original King Cobra was discontinued in 1992, coming back in 1994 and discontinued again in 1998. In 2019, the model designation was brought back, but the design was notably different. The frame was a little smaller, more suitable for concealed carry, the trigger guard profile was changed, and the mechanism was altered, now having the same tight, positive lockup of the most popular Colt revolvers. This example looks like it has spent more time inside a case than out. This would make a great hunting sidearm, concealed carry or home defense revolver and would also fit in with a Colt collection that hasn't added this snake to the pit.

Make: Colt

Model: King Cobra, SB3BB

Serial Number: RA213876

Grip Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece textured laminate wood. The grips have no notable wear, only a few tiny marks. There are no chips or cracks. The grips rate in about excellent overall condition.

Type of Finish: Stainless Steel

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 10 out of 10.

Rare Colt Kodiak .44 Magnum Double Action Revolver & Original Box

Lot # 240 (Sale Order: 240 of 391)

Rare Colt Kodiak .44 Magnum Double Action Revolver & Original Box

Our Assessment: Colt introduced the Anaconda built on a new, heavy "AA" frame to compete with the Ruger Redhawk and S&W Model 29 revolvers. then colt added a few upgrades and stepped away from the snake names and came out with the Kodiak. The Kodiak is an Anaconda, but with porting and a unfluted cylinder. What Colt did was take a great gun and made it better, more attuned for hunting. After all, the follow-up should have less recoil, if ever needed, and years of hunting has made us deaf already. If you ever decide to have it engraved then the cylinder will give more area for that perfect scene. It would feel great to unholster this gun in the field and drop a bear only a few yards away… during deer season. Not to mention you are probably the only guy hunting with one.

Make: Colt

Model: Kodiak (like the Anaconda BUT with porting and an unfluted cylinder

The crane cut and crane are marked "CKA2000". The left side of the frame is marked with a Rampant Colt logo. The front top left side of the trigger guard is marked with the Verified Proof.

Barrel Length: 6"

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a red ramped blade pinned to the barrel rib. The rear sight is a square notched white outlined leaf adjustable for windage and elevation pinned to the frame.

Colt Model .38 SF-VI .38 Special Stainless Double Action Only Revolver & Box

Lot # 241 (Sale Order: 241 of 391)

Colt Model .38 SF-VI .38 Special Stainless Double Action Only Revolver & Box

Our Assessment: The Detective Special has been very popular with law enforcement and civilians who carried a concealed revolver as it allowed for a 6-shot revolver in the same frame size as other revolvers which only offered a 5-round capacity. In the mid-1990s, Colt knew that everyone really wanted a stainless Detective Special and introduced the .38 SF-VI with a slightly different mechanism but with the same form-factor and 6-round capacity, made from stainless steel. The name was used to prevent confusion with the Detective Special revolvers still in the distribution pipeline, but would later change to the .38 DSII, or Detective Special 2. Despite the demand for a stainless Detective Special, the SF-VI and DSII apparently did not sell well enough for Colt, with the line being discontinued in 1998. This an example of the SF-VI which has a double action only mechanism and bobbed hammer. In excellent condition and with its original box, it is equally suited for carry or as a nice addition to a Colt revolver collection missing this piece of the Detective Special line.

Lot # 249 (Sale Order: 249 of 391)

Ruger Model SP-101 4" .22LR Double Action Revolver & Box

Our Assessment: The Ruger SP101 revolver MANUFACTURED by Sturm, Ruger & Co. It was first introduced in 1989 as the smaller-frame counterpart to the GP100. This SP101 is a small frame, double-action revolver designed for concealed carry and personal defense. The SP101 is chambered in various calibers, including .22LR, .327 Federal Magnum, .38 Special, and .357 Magnum. The SP101 typically has a barrel length of 2.25 inches, although longer barrel options are available. It uses a swing-out cylinder design, allowing for easy loading and unloading of cartridges. The SP101 features a robust stainless steel frame, providing durability and resistance to corrosion. The frame design incorporates a solid sidewall construction, enhancing strength and reducing recoil. This example was MANUFACTURED in 2013 and is in Fine condition, showing light use. This 8 Shot SP101 model 05765 is chambered for .22LR and comes with a letter from Ruger. This Ruger features a cushioned rubber grip with hardwood insert and has no exposed metal in the backstrap, making it extremely comfortable. It also features a transfer bar mechanism, fiber optic front sight, adjustable rear sight and a triple locking cylinder for more positive alignment and dependable operation. The SP101 is Ruger's small-frame revolver and was their only competition with the similar offerings of Smith & Wesson and Colt until the introduction of the LCR. The SP101 has an all-steel frame and tends to have a slightly longer grip, making shooting such a compact revolver quite comfortable. This SP101 has a great bore, strong mechanics, and a beautifully preserved satin stainless finish. This well made and well maintained Ruger revolver will make a fantastic target pistol.
