1941 Lincoln Continental Convertible

Lot # 505

Chassis No. H119672. An American automotive design legend. One of just 400 cabriolets produced in 1941. Attractive restoration in charming colors. Documented with its fac...moretory build information. Classic Car Club of America (CCCA) Full Classic.Returning from Europe in 1938, Edsel Ford sketched a concept for designer E.T. Gregorie that he wished to build on a Ford chassis. Gregorie did detailed drawings based on a Zephyr convertible instead, and the result was the Continental. The hood and fenders were extended, and the car sectioned horizontally by four inches. The bustle back with outside “Continental” tire was the finishing touch. The car was built, and Edsel took it to Florida that winter. Legend says that his friends were so taken with the car that many of them placed orders. Thus, the Continental went into production in December 1939, and a coupe version soon followed. One of just 400 cabriolets produced in the Continental’s second year, this example was originally sold by the well-known Van Etta Motors, a longtime Ford-Lincoln-Mercury dealer in Northern California. In 1959, it was acquired in Florida by John Fisher of Newark, Ohio, who drove it home to the Midwest, then sold it in November 1968 to Edwin Benland, also of Newark. Mr. Benland oversaw the car’s restoration in 1973, with the installation of a correct V-12 engine, and exhibited it at several shows.Clifford Schmid of Sappington, Missouri, acquired the Continental in 1981, and sold it five years later to Earl Rosen Jr., of St. Louis, who in 1987 received 97.5 points with the car in CCCA judging. Mr. Rosen then sold the car to his good friend and fellow CCCA Spirit of St. Louis Region stalwart, Fred Guyton, and it has remained in the Guyton Collection since.A largely attractive but older presentation, the car is finished in Rockingham Tan with a red leather interior and black canvas top, it is equipped with a spotlight, dual mirrors, dual fog lights, and a dashboard clock, and recorded 61,321 miles at the time of cataloguing. Offered with the car is an original Reference Book for the model, as well as a file of correspondence and receipts from the last five decades. With some mechanical freshening this would be an ideal and comfortable “modern” automobile for CCCA CARavans, in which it would undoubtedly be reunited with many longtime friends of its two most recent owners. It is truly a cherished example of one of the most famous American automotive designs of the Classic Era.,Located in Bremerton, Washington,TermsAdditional May Auction Terms of Cyber Sale: All lots are sold “As Is “, “ Where is”. 1972 Volkswagen Bus Type 2 Westfalia

Lot # 508

CHASSIS NO: 2342072358 “Barn find” Westfalia Camper Van. Solid body and highly complete. Prime restoration candidate. Popular classic VW with loyal following. 1,700 cc ai...morer-cooled OHV horizontally-opposed engine, 72 HP, four-speed manual transaxle, independent front suspension with transverse torsion bars and upper and lower radius arms, swing axle rear suspension with trailing arms and torsion bar, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes; wheelbase: 94.5”. Soon after the end of World War II in Europe, enthusiasm built among the Allied occupation authorities and local German people for the return of the former KdF-Wagen plant in Wolfsburg to production. Quickly, its only civilian product to date, the Dr. Ferdinand Porsche-designed “People’s Car,” was renamed the Volkswagen Type 1 as the launch product of the newly renamed Volkswagenwerk AG. The basic design of the economical and sturdy Type 1, soon to gain its enduring “Beetle” moniker, was a natural starting point for supplementary models. As early as 1946, British Major Ivan Hirst had sketched a lift-truck Type 1 derivative, initially intended for use within the Wolfsburg factory. Ben Pon, the automotive distributor who introduced his native Holland to the curious little Volkswagen, made the first generally acknowledged rough sketches predicting the boxy Type 2 Transporter as early as 1947. Beginning with eight Transporters displayed publicly in 1949, the first-generation Volkswagen Type 2 Transporters soon entered production and were sold in ever-growing numbers, through the end of first-generation production in 1967 and followed by the comprehensively updated 1968-79 iteration and the water-cooled 1980-93 Vanagon. In addition to the Kombi passenger/cargo van and dressy Samba passenger vans, alternatively marketed as the Station Wagon in America, the Transporter was also advertised as the Microbus. A dizzying array of commercial van and pickup models was also offered. A limited-production cornerstone of VW “Bus” production was the Westfalia camper van by Westfalia-Werke. Initially produced with a pop-up roof and later, a rear-hinged roof, the Westfalia camper van was a virtual home on wheels and as much a counterculture symbol as it was a family vacation machine, with folding seats that converted into beds, plus storage compartments, folding tables and even sinks and stoves inside them. This 1972 Volkswagen Westfalia Camper Van is a rare “garage find” example and as such, includes such advancements as the more-powerful, 1700-series engine shared with VW’s 411 passenger models. Developing 72 horsepower, this engine cut acceleration times significantly from those of prior models and yielded an official top speed of 75 miles per hour. This highly complete example also retains the woodgrain furnishings, including a sink, storage bureau, folding table and combination rear seat/bed. The signature Westfalia roof remains in place, as does the faithful air-cooled four-cylinder engine at the rear. While the paint is faded, much of the finish remains intact, along with all glass, lights, and hubcaps. Regardless of their specific generation and model year, all surviving examples of the VW Transporter are tremendously engaging and never fail to draw admirers. With its new facory style plaid interior, recent mechanical servicing and upgrades, this 1972 Volkswagen Westfalia camper can provide the basis for your next adventure with family and friends. Drive it as is or repaint it to its prior splendor.,Located in Bremerton, Washington,TermsAdditional May Auction Terms of Cyber Sale: All lots are sold “As Is “, “ Where is”. 1967 Austin Mini Moke

Lot # 516

This festive Mini Moke from 1967 is a superb example, offered from long-term dry storage. The Moke gained stardom on the small screen, with several appearances such as TV...more’s “The Prisoner” series and 1973 James Bond Movie “Live and Let Die”. Designed for  paratroopers in WWII. Later became the rage in Europe for vineyards, estates, in seaside towns and even placed on decks of yachts. Some 51,000 examples were built in total, with many finding favor with generations of farmers, linemen and ranchers for their toughness and sheer utility. Finished in yellow with new custom upholstery yellow/white stripped top and seats. This basic layout, combined with small 10-inch diameter wheels at each corner of its squat, box-like body, also provided the Mini with a deceptively spacious passenger cabin. If features a 998 cc BMC A-Series inline four-cylinder, four-speed manual front transaxle transmission, four-wheel independent suspension and hydraulic four-wheel drum brakes. Recently mechanically sorted, could make a fun leisure vehicle or provide a great way to get around your acreage.,Located in Bremerton, Washington,TermsAdditional May Auction Terms of Cyber Sale: All lots are sold “As Is “, “ Where is”. 1972 Egg Harbor 38’ Flybridge

Lot # 526

What’s old is new again! This Egg Harbor may be an older hull, but so much has been upgraded it’s hard to call her a “’72”. Formerly owned the owner of Sea Marine, a reno...morewned boatyard in Port Townsend, WA, this boat has been refurbished and repowered. Gone is the old Chevy gas powered 454, she now sports twin Yanmar 6LP-STE diesels at 300 horsepower each, with less than 1000 hours on them. She’ll cruise at 15 knots, (top speed 20kts.) Fuel capacity is 400 gallons between port and starboard aluminum tanks. She features a 90-gallon, stainless steel fresh water tank and a SeaLand VacuFlush head with a 30-gallon holding tank. The galley has a stainless-steel sink, propane stove/oven and an AC/DC refrigerator. The main cabin also features a Hurricane diesel hydronic hot water heater that also provides central, thermostat-controlled heat throughout the living spaces. Hot water can also be provided by the auxiliary electric water heater. She has new canvas on the flybridge and has been meticulously rewired, including a new inverter.Makai was last hauled out in April 2019 for new bottom paint, zincs and inspection at Sea Marine in Port Townsend, WA.The boat layout is a flybridge, main cabin, head, two crew bunks and two beds in the forward berth. The advantage of a classic Egg Harbor is the fiberglass hull is over an inch thick and the teak deck is also a SOLID inch thick. And just refinished…The Makai (renamed from Eggsplorer in2013 with proper ceremony to the Gods of the Winds, including Champagne…) is a wonderful cruiser, live aboard, charter or fishing boat, (she’s caught over 2000 tuna…), and is a USCG Documented Vessel. The boat will be sold “as is”, including all furnishings on board.
