1952 Borgward Midget "Eegore the Eyesore"

Lot # 399 (Sale Order: 37 of 126)

Built and raced by Wally and Kenny Parks of NHRA and Bell Helmet fame. Built in the 60s by Kurtis Kraft and never modernized. Desirable 1.5-litre Borgward engine. Originally raced in Hawaii. 1.5-litre Borgward four-cylinder engine, 75 HP, four-speed gearbox, drum brakes, independent four-wheel coil spring suspension, 102 wheelbase. In 1956, Borgward's racing division in Bremen, Germany, set about developing a 1.5-litre four-valve engine, based on the Isabella, with fuel injection and dual ignition. The resulting 150 HP engine powered the Borgward RS to numerous class victories. In 1959, this model was ideal for the newly established 1.5-litre Formula Two. Stirling Moss was driving a Cooper-Borgward and recorded four wins in the first four races. The famous race car driver is quoted as saying that Formula Two meant little to him at the time, until he sat in the Cooper with the Borgward engine. Wally Parks and his brother saw that success and found themselves a standard Borgward 75hp engine and a suitable Kurtis Kraft chassis. They broke it down to the essential components only, moved the engine block back for optimum handling performance, and placed the driver's compartment back near the rear axle. Add in big and little race wheels and tires, and you've got a classic stance and the ability to go very fast on the dirt. There are even photos of the Parks brothers with Eegore at a number of famous California oval tracks. The hand-formed boat tail body has a classic look, with a single, central seat, small windscreen, and a racing three-spoke steering wheel just begging to be whipped around the track. It's all business inside, with the four-speed floor shifter and metal dash containing only the essentials and a few mementos of hot-rod events from the past. It's an authentic presentation with enough wear and tear to show anyone that this car is the real deal, and actually raced by Kenny Parks. Custom painted in pink, with hand-lettered graphics and louvered engine panels, Eegore has a single straight pipe out the right side and a hand-formed streamlined tail section, along with a custom front grille with devilish horns for fun. Headlights, taillights, turn signals, bah, who needs em. Stay out of my way and follow the cloud of dust! #32 isn't waiting for anyone, and we're sure the next owner is in for just as much fun as the Parks brothers behind the wheel of this period classic. Located in Bremerton, WA.

1930 Yellow Cab Taxi Bill of Sale Only

Lot # 402 (Sale Order: 40 of 126)

Plenty of road rash, dents, and surface rust. No cancerous rust, though. Solid, thick metal. A solid very restorable example. Very complete, but some things are missing, ...moresuch as the rate meter and original door handles. The Taxi was purchased by Harold LeMay on an unknown date. The LeMay Family Museum might have information for the original purchase. The Taxi was sold by the Lucky Collector Car Auction in about 2015 at the Marymount location. I acquired the taxi 4 years ago and has been barn stored since. I understand that when Harold got the Taxi to Tacoma, he put on new tires and a very quick black paint job. The paint is flaking off in places and some of the Taxi yellow is showing through. Original upholstery and door panels are in place in the passenger compartment. The driver's seat has been reupholstered. The headliner is gone. The roof fabric is off. Gauges are present. The original motor is a Buick 6. It is missing some parts, but an additional Buick 6 with the needed parts comes with the sale. Needs complete restoration.

1978 Volkswagen Super Beetle Convertible NO RESERVE

Lot # 406 (Sale Order: 44 of 126)

This 1978 Super Volkswagen Beetle has had only two owners. The first owner bought it new while in college. She enjoyed it for 16 years. Then I came along. I saw the gleam...moreing white bug with wite top and had to have it. I took the number from the for sale sign and gave her a call. I took a test drive with the owner for about an hour. Then I became the second owner. I loved the bug and took very good care of her for about 20 years. I would take long drives on sunny days with family and friends wanting to share the experience. I have extremely fond memories of diablo rojo ( I named her that because of all the mischief I had with her.) and I always will.Unfortunately life got crazy and surprises arose so I could not take care of the diablo rojo like I needed to. I am extremely sad that I left her suffer. I am hoping someone wants to be the third owner and give her life again.
