Produced by Remington Rand and shipped to the US Gov't for issue to US military. 5" blue finished barrel with "P" proof on trunnion and "SA" indicating arsenal rework at Springfield. Parkerized finish with brown checkered Keyes grips with reinforcement ribs inside. F.J.A. inspected on left side of frame with Ordnance wheel inspection on right side of frame. "SA" inspection on right side of frame forward of serial number. Narrow checkered hammer, serrated safety , checkered slide stop and checkered arched mainspring housing. Slide not numbered under firing pin retainer. Magazine marked "C-S" on bottom of lip and "S" on top of lip. Feed ramp is properly polished to bright steel. CONDITION, Very as arsenal refinished by Springfield. Bore is good with roughness in grooves, and some rifling left. Action operates properly. Most all finish remains with slight edge wear. SERIAL 13283. BARREL 28". CALIBER .30 U.S. (KRAG) MADE IN 1898. Standard high finish rifle features full round barrel, German nickel blade front sight on base, Winchester semi buckhorn rear sight, rifle butt plate, walnut stock, fore-end with ebony tip, blue finish, case color hammer , sling eye in butt with other tightened to barrel. Condition. Barrel retains 90% dulling blue with sharp barrel legend. Frame, magazine & lever retain at least 70% blue, mostly bright, mixing soft patina with sharp legends. Color visible on hammer. Stocks are excellent and proud to metal . Bore is sharp & bright. The extractor still retains all the fire blue which indicates this gun did not see much use. Extremely hard to find a nice antique range 1895 that does not need paperwork. ANTIQUE

FINE WESTERN USED WINCHESTER 1866 SRC

SERIAL 89660. BARREL 20". CALIBER .44 RF. MADE IN 1872. Cowboy used gun that is all original. The brass frame & rifle butt plate are perfectly toned to mustard. The barrel and tube are a lovely blue brown clean patina mix with no cancer with sharp barrel legends. Has correct folding rear sight, barrel band front sight, saddle ring & stud. Stock is very good and proud to metal, never refinished. The base of fore-arm is worn where it rested on the pommel of a saddle along with some stress / wear hairline cracks and couple chips. Stock has usual minor dings and small chip at wrist on right side. Lightly hand carved on left side of stock is JTC 1874. This same date and a couple of indiscernible initials were also lightly etched into left side of frame. Both of these appear to be period to the rifles age The bore still has strong rifling and loading gate retains some blue. A true western used cattle drive 1866 Winchester "Yellow Boy" carbine that predates the Custer massacre. Frame has a period replaced screw. ANTIQUE

SERIAL NUMBER 128268 BARREL 20" CALIBER .44 RIMFIRE MANUFACTURED 1876. Classic Winchester model 1866 Saddle ring carbine comes equipped with full mag, two bbl bands. Front sight is integrated with barrel band, rear sight is traditional 2 position folding pattern graduated to 500 yards. Brass frame has untouched dark mustard color. Brass butt plate houses a 3pc cleaning rod in butt. Saddle ring stud and ring are in place. No cal markings are present. Hammer and lever are case colored. Barrel is marked "WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS NEW HAVEN CT. / KINGS IMPROVEMENT PATENT MARCH 29, 1866 OCTOBER 16, 1866". Walnut stock features straight grain American walnut as does the forearm. CONDITION: Very Fine. Barrel has 92-95% strong blue with matching full length mag tube rated the same. Barrel bands with 90% blue with high spots turned to a pewter color. Bore is bright and shiny Stocks are very fine with a few minor impressions and scratches. The gunmetal receiver is a mellow mustard with no evidence of having ever been disassembled or cleaned. Mechanics are fine, cycles correctly. An 1866 SRC in excellent condition is a rarity as most were heavily used and one in this superb original condition is a great rarity. ANTIQUE

SERIAL NUMBER 9718 BARREL 24 1/4" CALIBER .44 RIM FIRE MANUFACTURED 1865. Blue finish with gun metal brass receiver. Straight grain American walnut stock. Sling swivels attached on left side of barrel and stock. Barrel shows late large 2-line bbl address with serial number stamped behind rear-sight. Rear-sight is of the fifth and final type, with retaining screw and small notch on the slide. Loading collar, forward part of barrel, and upper left tang of receiver show assembly no. 7. Magazine follower is of the large type. Gun metal brass receiver has milled flats at forward end to accommodate the large follower. Serial number is stamped on left lower tang under stock. Receiver also has “H” inspector mark on lower tang. Receiver screws are not numbered. Stock has serial number stamped in mortise of upper tang. “A.W.M.” inspector mark is stamped into the stock on left wrist. Stock has sling swivel mounted on left side with a very pronounced “Henry Bump” below. Butt Plate has serial number stamped on the inside toe. Screws are unmarked. This rifle does not appear on the Springfield Research database, but another 97091, is listed as having been issued to a trooper in Co. B 3rd Veteran Volunteers. CONDITION: Fine. Barrel retains 40-50% blue finish that is strong in the gullets, with the balance turning a plumb-brown patina. Barrel address is sharp. Serial number is sharp. Assembly numbers are sharp. Bore is good with frosting in grooves. Sights are very good. Receiver shows a mustard-brown patina overall, with some scratching on side plates and around the screws on left side. Elevator is a smooth mustard patina with only a few small dents. Receiver screws are very good. Rear of firing pin shows traces of orig blue. Hammer retains a generous amount of case color on both sides with sharp checkering. Lever is a plumb-brown patina overall. Tang markings are sharp. Stock is fine and full-sized, with a readable inspector mark at the wrist and a pronounced “Henry Bump”. Stocks show some light impressions and scratches from the period. Stock retains a very pleasing dark oil finish. Butt Plate is a mustard-brown patina with some stains and high point wear on heel and toe. Screws are very good. A truly exceptional Martial Henry rifle. ANTIQUE

Front-sight is a bayonet lug type. Rear-sight is military ladder graduated to 800 yards. 2-line Winchester address is rolled in front of rear-sight. Caliber mark at breech-end. Receiver is of the third model type with integral dust cover guide-rail. Top of tang is marked Model 1873 with finials. Serial number is stamped on lower tang behind lever latch. Stocks are not marked. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl retains 95% bright blue finish with some light pitting on underside of barrel at the muzzle end with a few light scratches. Bbl bands retain nearly all of their blue finish. Barrel markings are sharp. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Receiver shows 95% bright-blue finish with some light scratches and some staining on bottom side. Elevator is a mustard-brown patina with sharp marking. Dust cover retains nearly all of the bright-blue finish with a few scratches. Loading gate shows almost all of fire-blue finish. Hammer, lever, and trigger retain nearly all of the dark vivid case color finish. Stocks are fine, full-sized, and retain almost all of oil finish. Buttstock shows a few period bruises. Buttplate retains nearly all case color finish with some slight scratches on heel and toe. A very well preserved example Winchester Model 1873 Musket with nearly all of its original finish. ANTIQUE

WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 DELUXE “BIG 50” LEVER RIFLE.

SERIAL NUMBER 97431 BARREL 24" CALIBER 50 EXPRESS (50-100) MANUFACTURED 1895 Fine special order rifle with 24" octagon to round barrel, half magazine, Beech folding front sight with bead,made without rear sight seat. Lyman model 21 " Climin" Lyman side sight. Mounted with 2-3X flame grain American walnut with H-style checkered forearm and black insert serpentine grip butt stock that has checkered Winchester hard plastic butt plate. Left side of lower tang, under the wood, is marked with the assembly number “509”, “XX” and “RB”. The “RB” indicates rifle butt plate. Matching assembly number is found in top tang channel of butt stock . These Big 50 caliber rifles were great favorites with the British and American big game hunters in both India & Africa where they usually saw very hard service and are rarely found in original configuration with any original finish. Rifle is accompanied with factory letter indicating originally shipped with a 45-90 barrel. A return and repair on march of 1907 with work order 11491, 50 Express barrel is marked on underside of chamber with the work order 11491 confirming this factory change. CONDITION: Fine plus, all matching. Barrel retains about 85% original blue with scattered spots of pitting and fine surface etching; receiver retains 40% blue with balance turning plum patina, also with some fine surface etching, hammer retains dark case colors and the lever traces of case colors, having mostly turned silver, dark on outer faces. Wood is sound with a few light nicks & scratches showing light to moderate diamond point wear on the checkering and overall retains 95-96% strong, original piano varnish finish. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bore and functions properly. A wonderful documented Deluxe Winchester rifle. ANTIQUE.

STUNNING WINCHESTER MODEL 1876 CENTENNIAL RIFLE

SERIAL NUMBER 22356 BARREL 28" CALINER 45-75 WCF MANUFACTURED 1882. Full magazine with octagon barrel fitted with half nickel front sight and 1876 marked folding ladder rear sight. Receiver is 2nd type with attached dust cover rail. Mounted with uncheckered, varnished straight grain American walnut with straight stock and crescent butt plate with trap. Case colored hammer and lever with fire blue loading gate. Barrel marked "WINCHESTER'S REPEATING ARMS. NEW HAVEN.CT. KINGS IMPROVEMENT-PATENTED-MARCH 29. 1876. OCTOBER 16.1860." Receiver marked "MODEL 1876". This rifle was produced and shipped during the height of the Indian wars on the western frontier and likely would have seen service out there under extreme conditions probably with minimal maintenance. PROVENANCE: Former Larry Jones Collection. Rifle is accompanied by early June 6 1973 dated factory letter stating that it was shipped Feb, 22 1882 and letter is signed by T.E. Hall Curator of the Winchester Gun Museum and address to Mr, Larry Jones. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine. Barrel retains over 95% original blue with the balance a brown patina; magazine tube is equally fine; receiver & side plates retain 90% blue with some spotting on right side and minor edge wear; lever & hammer retain generous amounts of faded case colors; stocks are very fine with some minor impressions and period dents. Case colored hammer and lever with fire blue loading gate. Barrel marked "WINCHESTER'S REPEATING ARMS. NEW HAVEN.CT. KINGS IMPROVEMENT-PATENTED-MARCH 29. 1876. OCTOBER 16.1860." Receiver marked "MODEL 1876". This rifle was produced and shipped during the height of the Indian wars on the western frontier and likely would have seen service out there under extreme conditions probably with minimal maintenance. PROVENANCE: Former Larry Jones Collection. Rifle is accompanied by early June 6 1973 dated factory letter stating that it was shipped Feb, 22 1882 and letter is signed by T.E. Hall Curator of the Winchester Gun Museum and address to Mr, Larry Jones. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine. Barrel retains over 95% original blue with the balance a brown patina; magazine tube is equally fine; receiver & side plates retain 90% blue with some spotting on right side and minor edge wear; lever & hammer retain generous amounts of faded case colors; stocks are very fine with some minor impressions and period dents. Fine with over 80% blue finish on barrel with balance fading to a plum patina. Magazine tube has turned a plumish brown from age with 20% blue remaining. Receiver is very fine with over 75% blue finish remaining with balance having turned patina. The wood stocks are very good with most all varnish remaining. Some small bruises and impressions from period use. Blue finished full octagon barrel with blue receiver and case colored crescent butt plate. 2 piece varnished American walnut stocks. CONDITION, Very fine with bright excellent bore. Barrel retains over 95% blue finish while magazine finish has toned with 80% finish remaining. The receiver is very fine with over 95% finish remaining. The stocks are very fine with most all varnish remaining with a few impressions and bruises. The action operates properly. C&R
