Military blued finish. Stock was lightly sanded and oiled at some point. Cleaning rod, mono pod and dust cover are all absent. Barrel is marked "MAC 1919" on the right side of the chamber, with the serial number and inspector proofs on the left. Balle "N" marked barrel and receiver. No import marks found. Matching serials on the barrel, trigger guard, stock, bolt and bolt head. Standard carbine sights. Military blued finish. Stock has a period light oil finish. Clearing rod channel was filled at some point. CONDITION: Very good overall, with some components forming a brown patina. Stock has handling marks, scrapes and scratches. RUSSIAN CONTRACT WESTINGHOUSE M91 MOSIN US MARKED

Lot # 72 (Sale Order: 65 of 691)      

SERIAL: 1357993. BARREL: 32". CALIBER: 7.62x54R. MANUFACTURED: 1916. Made by the New England Westinghouse Company for the Imperial Russian Government. Most of these rifles, including this one, never made it to Russia. The new communist government defaulted on the contract, leaving Remington and Westinghouse to foot the bill of production. The U.S. Government stepped in, purchasing the remaining rifles. Some were sent with U.S. Troops for the "Polar Bear" expedition, while others were used for training purposes. This particular rifle bears U.S. "eagles head" inspection stamps on the chamber, in addition to the Imperial Eagle. No import marks are found. Matching serials on the barrel shank and butt plate. Bolt and trigger guard are mismatched. Standard M91 sights, military blued finish and oiled wood stock. CONDITION: Metal is good overall, with brown patina beginning to form in areas. There is some light pitting at the stock line, around the chamber. Stock has normal dings and handling marks. Bore is frosted, with very good overall rifling retained. Mechanically fine. SERIAL: 1357993. BARREL: 32". CALIBER: 7.62x54R. MANUFACTURED: 1916. Made by the New England Westinghouse Company for the Imperial Russian Government. Most of these rifle...mores, including this one, never made it to Russia. The new communist government defaulted on the contract, leaving Remington and Westinghouse to foot the bill of production. The U.S. Government stepped in, purchasing the remaining rifles. Some were sent with U.S. Troops for the "Polar Bear" expedition, while others were used for training purposes. This particular rifle bears U.S. "eagles head" inspection stamps on the chamber, in addition to the Imperial Eagle. No import marks are found. Matching serials on the barrel shank and butt plate. Bolt and trigger guard are mismatched. Standard M91 sights, military blued finish and oiled wood stock. CONDITION: Metal is good overall, with brown patina beginning to form in areas. There is some light pitting at the stock line, around the chamber. Stock has normal dings and handling marks. Bore is frosted, with very good overall rifling retained. Mechanically fine. Includes attached Unertl 20X scope, with factory scope rings and caps. Scope serial is "81887". LOP is: 13-1/2". CONDITION: Excellent overall, with only a few blemishes and handling marks. US KRAG MODEL1899 PHILIPPINE PATTERN RIFLE

SERIAL: 345842. BARREL: 22". CALIBER: .30-40 KRAG. MANUFACTURED: 1899. This gun was converted from a standard 1899 Carbine to Philippine Constabulary Pattern sometime in the early 1900's. The muzzle is correctly stepped down to accept a bayonet. A bayonet lug and full length stock were also added, but lacks the proper cartouche on the left side. Correct hand guard as well. Pedestal blade front sight and 1902 pattern rear sight with small flip peep aperture. Military blued finish. Stock has its proper light oil finish. Smooth metal butt plate with trapdoor for cleaning kit. CONDITION: Metal is good overall, with a gray patina forming in most areas. Wood has a few dings, scratches and dents. The area around the bolt handle relief has been carved out as well. Bore is frosted with very good overall rifling. Mechanically fine. C&R

Hammer is HI" marked Front barrel band is blue finished reproduction and with out markings. Butt plate is square checkered pattern Handguard is deep groove 2 rivet pattern marked "IO" CONDITION. Good with finish having mottled to a brown with thinning on barrel. Bore is very good and action operates properly. Stocks are good with impressions and bruises with "IO" in channel and Ordnance wheel inspection on butt. Magazine is a flat base WW2 pattern with (SP) marked on spine. C&R
