NSN. BARREL 42". CALIBER .69. This was the first US issue percussion musket and widely used during the Civil War. It features three barrel bands, iron mountings. metal parts finished in the white, trumpet shaped ramrod head and bayonet lug under barrel. Lock marked "SPRINGFIELD 1848" at rear with traces of Eagle markings in center. Tang is not dated. breech is marked "VP Eaglehead". No evidence of cartouche on stock. CONDITION. Very good as found with light gray patina on barrel lock and furniture. Bore is dark. Action is crisp. . Stock is very good with light wear. ANTIQUE

It retains the original rear barrel band and front barrel band. Lock marked "SPRINGFIELD 1852" at rear with Eagle & US in center. Tang is not dated, and inspectors marks at breech are not visible. There is a light cartouche on left stock flat. CONDITION. Good as found with pitting on barrel, lock and furniture. Bore is dark. Action is crisp. Percussion nipple is a correct replacement. Shortened stock is good with period impressions. ANTIQUE

The hardware and lock plate are brass and includes a nice cut out four piece patch box. CONDITION Very good as found. Barrel has heavy pitting at breach. Brass hardware and lock plate have a nice mustard patina. Bore is dark with good rifling. Barrel tang has period repair. Action works with set triggers. Stock has old repairs around lock plate. It features three barrel bands, iron mountings, metal parts finished in the white, tulip shaped ramrod head, and front sight doubles as a angular bayonet lug. Has single leaf rear sight. Lock is marked US SPRINGFIELD with Eagle in center, and dated 1863. Barrel is unmarked. CONDITION. Very good as found. Metal has been cleaned with light gray patina on barrel lock and furniture. There is light pitting and filing at the breech. Rifled bore has visible rifling. Action works properly. Ram rod appears to be correct replacement. Rear sight has home made leaf. Stock is very good with evidence of light sanding. No cartouche is visible. ANTIQUE

It features three barrel bands, iron mountings, metal parts finished in the white, clean out screw on bolster, tulip shaped ramrod head, and front sight doubles as a angular bayonet lug. Lock is marked "SAVAGE R.F.A. Co. MIDDLETOWN CT" with Eagle U.S. in center, and dated 1864. Barrel is Armory proofed VP Eaglehead and is undated. It has inspectors marks L.E.M.. CONDITION. Good condition as found with light gray patina on barrel lock and furniture. There is pitting at the breech. Rifled bore is dark.. Action is crisp. Rear sight is missing leaves. Stock is good with evidence of sanding and period impressions. No cartouche is visible. Left side of barrel is stamped " CLARENCE ORN 1934 BEALLSVILLE, OHIO" and under stock by trigger guard is stamped "C. ORN 1934". No cartouche is visible. ANTIQUE

Has visible cartouche on left flat of butt stock. The initials OMW are stamped on right side of butt stock and in 3 places under butt stock. ANTIQUE
