CASED NICKEL S&W MODEL 41 SEMI AUTO PISTOL

Lot # 108 (Sale Order: 126 of 859)

SERIAL 97266. BARREL 5.5". CALIBER .22 LONG RIFLE. The Model 41 was introduced in 1957. For it's time, if was one of the finest target .22 pistols to date. For whatever reason, they decided not to make nickel finish guns a regular offering but they did do some. The nickel finish on this gun is most definitely Smith factory. Whether or not it was pulled from production and then plated or factory redone, it is still a factory nickel job. Once grips are removed, you can see the small exposed parts are blue but the cut outs are brushed nickel or satin as is the top of slide, underside of frame and grip straps. All of the edges are razor sharp as are the factory legends. The gun appears virtually unfired and the grips are near mint. The gun is in as new condition inside and out and rests in a period mahogany display box. The A serial prefix began in 1970 so this gun is a pre-1970 C&R eligible gun. Comes with one stamped satin nickel magazine. Also has some original paperwork. C&R*

SERIAL 146351. BARREL 3". CALIBER 38 COLT. MADE IN 1900. Arguably the hardest to find barrel length in the Army-Navy swing out series is the 3". This example is factory nickel and sports pearl grips and comes in a period pink picture box with proper end label. The box top is spotted and worn and picture is only partially visible but it is the correct box. The gun retains about 40% original factory nickel with the balance blending to soft patina. Barrel has proper small two line address with caliber on side. Hammer & trigger still show generous amounts of fire blue. Bore is sharp and action is proper. Grips are excellent with light chipping and some dark spots. C&R*
