Caliber "30-30" marked on the chamber. "MARLIN SAFETY" marked on the top of the receiver. Model markings on the tang. Full octagon barrel and half magazine tube. Blade front sight and buckhorn v-notch rear. Case colored frame, butt plate, hammer and lever. Barrel is blued. Wood has a light oil finish, being reshaped at the butt. Sling eyelets added at some point. CONDITION: Metal retains 80% finish, with general wear and some patina forming on the barrel/tube. Wood has minor scrapes, scratches and dents. SERIAL NUMBER: 839572. BARREL: 20". CALIBER: .30 WCF. MANUFACTURED: 1918/19. Standard markings and features throughout. There is a "J.C.17" marking on the underside of the receiver, meaning this is likely one of the "Spruce Guns" that was issued to troops protecting the Spruce forests of the Pacific Northwest. No U.S. flaming bomb proofs are present, but the gun does fall into the Spruce Gun range. Blade front sight, with carbine rear ladder. Factory saddle ring stud and ring. Original blued finish. Stock has been lightly sanded and varnished. Original butt plate. CONDITION: Metal retains about 50% finish, with mixed patina forming in places. Wood has light handlin marks and scrapes. Features a coin metal frame, large loop lever and barrel bands. The right side of the barrel is marked “John Wayne Commemorative”. The left side of the octagonal barrel is marked “Winchester Model 94 .32-40 Win. / Made in New Haven Conn. U.S.A. Winchester Proof Steel”. Both sides of the receiver are engraved with The Duke’s movies and scenes. Checkered deluxe oil finished walnut stocks with special Duke coin on right side. Condition. As new in original box and colorful sleeve. C&R

Bright blue finished with gold and silver inlays on frame cylinder and barrel. 2 piece ebony bag grips carved in a broad leaf and scroll design with non-fluted cylinder being inlaid in gold and silver with flying fowl. Frame is gold and silver inlaid with geometric designs. 6 shot double and single action operation with high post front sight and grooved hammer rear sight. Revolvers of this period were imported to the Southern States during the US Civil War and many went west post war. CONDITION. Very good with over 75% blue finish remaining. The gold and silver inlays are good with over 80% remaining. The grips are excellent and remain full sized. The action operates properly. The bore and chambers are very good. ANTIQUE

Slightly over sized grips are not numbered. Condition. Back strap is turning patina, otherwise over 95% blue remains with usual high edge & light muzzle wear. Over 40% colors remain with some spotting on right side. Most of the blue remains on screws. Bore is excellent. Grips are excellent. Works double action but not single action. C&R

SERIAL NUMBER 22 BARREL 5 3/4" CALIBER 11 MM CENTERFIRE MANUFACTURED CIRCA 1861. Deigned by Martial Pidault and Charles Cordier and marketed by George Raphael & Company. And properly known as the Model 1860 Pidault-Cordier Revolver .A small quantity of less than 1000 were purchased by the United States Government for issue during the early stages of the Civil War. 6 shot non fluted cylinder with latched loading gate on the left side of recoil shield with squared butt with 2 piece wood grips. Single and double action operation with blade front sight and integral rear sight mounted on the top octagon flat of the frame forward of the cylinder. Small parts marked with "22" is believed to be an assembly number and bot the serial number. no other markings are observed. These early cartridge firearms were very expensive at the onset of the war and this was probably the reason for the extremely small purchase quantity. CONDITION. Good as as found with some very minor pitting and oxidation under a contemporary blue finish. The grips remain full sized and in fine condition the action operates both single and double action but recoil shield occasionally becomes unlocked. A very scarce French produced Civil War import. BARREL 39", CALIBER .577,MFG 1863, The most iconic of the imported arms to see service with the Confederacy during the American Civil War is the British P-1853 Enfield Rifle Musket. This Enfield is complete and original to the period and has remained in untouched condition. It features a one piece stock, 3 iron barrel bands, long range rear sight, brass trigger guard, and brass buttplate. This example has a period blacksmith / Confederate made ram rod. The stock comb is marked with "ANCHOR/ S" in front of the buttplate tang. This is a Confederate inspection mark that was used after the JS ANCHOR mark. The lock is marked 1863 over TOWER with a CROWN at rear of lock. The right flat of the buttstock has the Birmingham Small Arms Trade stamp. The revolver features fine geometric design engraving on all surfaces except for the loading lever. The screws are finely engraved as well. The cylinder, hammer, wedge and loading lever have thin gold wash. Serial number 22556, matches on barrel, trigger guard, frame, and back strap. The wedge is not numbered. SERIAL NUMBER: 127467 BARREL: 7-1/2 inch CALIBER: 36 percussion. MANUFACTURED: 1862. Finished blue with case hardened frame, loading lever, and hammer. Silver plated brass trigger guard and backstrap. W.L. Ormsby roll die Naval battle scene on cylinder. One-piece varnished walnut grips. Matching serial numbers on all major components, including the barrel wedge. Number 2 stamped below serial numbers, typically indicating this revolver was one of a matched pair, usually housed in a dual casing. As often was the case with Civil War recipients of matched pair of firearms, they would use one and store the other. Backstrap is period hand engraved "Presented to W.R. Faulkner from his friends in the 9th Ward Gas Works Philada." Born 1832 in England W.R. Faulkner's family migrated to America. Living in Philadelphia Pennsylvania Mr. Faulkner enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the mature age of 30. Military service records show that W.R Faulkner enlisted August 5th 1862 and was discharged on September 18th 1863. He served as a Carpenter's Mate aboard 3 ships, U.S.S Princeton, U.S.S New Ironsides, and the U.S.S Allegheny. He died December 6, 1865 from medical complications received during the war. He is buried in West Laurel Cemetery located just outside of Philadelphia. Revolver is housed in a correct walnut partition style case with green interior. Outfit includes all the correct accessories with brass, standing arms powder flask marked "Colts Patent", "L" shaped Colt screwdriver/nipple wrench, 2-cavity blued steel bullet mold marked "Colt's Patent" period -correct gutta percha storage jar, and correct "Eley Bros" marked cap tin. CONDITION: Revolver is fine overall showing 45-50% original bright blue mixed with a pleasing grey/brown patina. Scattered original blue on the cylinder. Strong roll-die scene. Traces of original silver on backstrap & trigger guard. Traces of original case colors. Grips are sound showing moderate wear with a few relatively deep scratches on the left side. Original, mostly unmolested screws. Action is tight and crisp. No remaining safety pins. Bore is fine, showing modest abrasions and strong rifling. Casing is good, showing wear and multiple scratches with two longitudinal cracks on the lid. Interior could use a good cleaning. Serial number 276, manufactured approximately 1856 – 1857. 6-1/2 inch octagon barrel, chambered in .44 caliber percussion. Finished in high polished blue with case hardened cylinder, loading lever, trigger , and hammer. Fully checkered, wrap around, one-piece rosewood grips. Top frame flat marked one-line: “Wilkerson London”. Top flat of barrel marked one-line: “ Thomas Griswold & C0. New Orleans” Thomas Griswold & Co. was licensed by Tranter during the American Civil War to import and distribute their firearms. This revolver is tastefully yet sparsely embellished with English style scroll engraving. The Tranter revolver was a solid-frame design with a very unique for the period, double-action design. The revolver incorporated two triggers. One used to rotate the cylinder and the second to fire the weapon. These extremely well made, double-action, cap & ball revolvers were very popular amongst Confederate officers supplying their own firearms. Most notably, famous C.S.A. Calvary officer J.E.B. Stuart. This particular Tranter revolver is documented as being owned by A.S. Matteson a Confederate Lt. from the state of Arkansas. Accompanying the revolver is an original photograph of A.S. Matteson with the backside marked “William Brown / Photographer / of the Army of / Arkansas. CONDITION: Benchmark, showing 90-95% bright high polished, period re-applied blue.
