SERIAL NUMBER 4005, BARREL 7 1/2" , CALIBER .44. MFG 1849 Second year of production. Original First Model Colt Dragoon revolver. Serial numbers 4005 match on cylinder, butt strap, trigger guard, frame and barrel. The last 3 digits 005 appear on the loading lever and wedge. Top barrel flat marked: “ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW-YORK CITY”. Left side of frame marked 3-lines: “COLTS / PATENT / U.S.” Brass square back triggerguard, and brass backstrap. 6 shot cylinder with oval stops and no visible cylinder scene. CONDITION: Metal has a smooth gray patina with scattered light pitting. Markings are good. Action works. Hammer and hammer screw are replaced. Wedge has been filed and the front screw on the trigger guard is replaced. Grips are worn with traces of finish, and a piece missing at the toe. The bore is shiny and clean. The wedge and loading lever are numbered 0703. There is an inspectors mark "M" on left side of trigger guard, and a "C" on the cylinder. The one piece grips have a cartouche on both sides. CONDITION: The revolver has smooth metal with brown / gray patina. Edges are sharp and markings are crisp. Nice martially marked one piece grips. The cylinder retains about 85% of the Naval battle scene. Crisp action, locks up tight. The bore is excellent. A solid example of this a scarce and desirable martially marked Civil War revolver. Has inspectors marks: "L" on left side barrel, "W" left side frame, "H" on right side of barrel and "H" rides side of frame. Grip has a visible cartouche on left side. CONDITION: Frame, barrel and loading lever have about 70% blue finish, cylinder has about 40% blue finish. There are some dings by the cylinder pin on the right side of frame. Two piece walnut grips are nice with minor handling marks. The bore is excellent. A very nice collectors grade revolver. RMA ANTIQUE

SERIAL NUMBER: NSN. BARREL: 10". CALIBER: .22 LR. MANUFACTURED: CIRCA 1901-1909. Company address and patent dates on the left side of the frame, in addition to "P S". The bottom of the barrel is marked "22LR", with the left side marked "J.R.BEVIS". Two part, half round, half octagon barrel with adjustable globe front sight. Rear u-notch is mortised into the frame. Period blued finish. Frame is finely scroll engraved, with the wood grip being extensively carved in a floral pattern. Forearm remains plain. CONDITION: Metal retains 80% of its blued finish, with general wear and scratches, mostly on the barrel. Grips have light handling marks and scratches. Bore is clean overall, with very good rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA C&R

COLT 1873 SINGLE ACTION ARMY WITH FANTASY MARKS

SERIAL NUMBER: 113834. BARREL: 7-1/2". CALIBER: .45 COLT. MANUFACTURED: 1884. Spurious "U.S." marking on the left side of the frame, behind the patent dates. Butt has "2/SC/14" marked. Grips have military inspector style cartouches on the bottom of each panel (faint). Matching serials on the frame, butt and trigger guard. Barrel is a later Colt replacement, with one line address and caliber marked on the left side. Case colored frame, with the other parts being re blued. Grips have an added oil finish. CONDITION: Metal retains 70% of its added finishes, with light wear. Frame is a dull gray patina throughout. Grips have light scratches, and handling marks, being loose on the frame. Bore is bright, with strong rifling. Missing some clicks and wont hold safety cock, but otherwise mechanically good. ANTIQUE 0527

COLT BISLEY FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER

SERIAL302133. BARREL 7.5". CALIBER 44-40. Factory letter states this gun was shipped on December 29, 1908 to Seattle Hardware Co in its present configuration. Gun was expertly rebuilt and finished to as new condition to as new Colt quality blue and colors. The inside grip frame is stamped 178 which probably indicates that Colt redid this gun in January of 1978. A new barrel and replacement cylinder were added. (the barrel is not stamped Bisley nor does the cylinder have the beveled edges). Gun has matching numbers on frame, trigger guard and backstrap and is also etched in the right grips panel. Aside from some cylinder ghost drag line, gun is in as new condition. Grips are as nice as balance of gun. Action is crisp and rifling is sharp. C&R DB

SERIAL 290851. BARREL 4 3/4". CALIBER 45 COLT. Factory letter states gun was shipped in this configuration on March 20, 1907 to Dunhamm Carrigan & Hayden Co in San Francisco. Gun has matching numbers on frame, trigger guard and back strap. The gutta percha grips fit perfectly and there are some scratching inside but not a serial number. Barrel has correct two line address and frame has two line patent date. Trigger guard has correct VP proof marks. Front sight appears full height. Condition. Gun is a smooth gray crisp patina with some fading blue in flutes. Grips show wear and are a but shy to metal. Four clicks with half cock. Rifling is well defined but does have some abrasion. C&R DB

Patent dates and rampant Colt pony on the left side of the frame. "VP" proof present on the trigger guard. Blade front sight and v-notch rear. Finish has been polished bright. Imitation ivory grips. CONDITION: Very good, as polished to a bright finish throughout. Nickel finish retained on the hammer. Grips very good, with light discoloration. Bore has a clean surface, with good overall rifling. Tight hammer and cylinder, with all clicks present. C&R 0521

ANTIQUE COLT SAA REVOLVER -1881

SERIAL 72977. BARREL 7.5". CALIBER .45 COLT. Factory letter states gun was shipped on October 28, 1881 to N. Curry and Brothers in San Francisco. it was shipped in nickel finish with configuration listed above with grips not mentioned however, one piece walnuts were standard at that time and would not be listed in shipping ledger. This gun has matching numbers on the frame, trigger guard and back strap. At this time , both the cylinder and barrel should also be numbered but these are not. Barrel has one line address but the Colt area is mostly worn thin. Frame has correct three line patent address and the ejector rod has correct early donut style. Hammer shows most of the nickel on top and back. Barrel has some nickel around front sight, one spot on top along with nickel under the housing. Frame shows some nickel near hammer . No nickel on cylinder nor housing and just a couple spots on straps. Grips are shy to metal and missing wood on both sides at toe and heel. Gun is basically brown with some wiped on finish. Cylinder pin has most of the nickel and is probably replaced and there is no nickel on bottom of housing so it too was replaced. Indexes correctly and nice half cock. Rifling is sharp but frosted. Matching serial numbers on frame, trigger guard and back strap. There is no serial number under barrel or on cylinder. Barrel has correct two line address. Frame has three line patent dates. A knife blade front sight has been dove tailed into the barrel. Grips are shy to meta and several kill notches on right side. Condition. Barrel and frame retain approximately 60% nickel, cylinder is patina as are straps. The nickel shows freckling, some bubbling and appears to have be flitzed (polished) Action indexes and has proper half notch. Bore is strong but frosted with minor abrasion. ANTIQUE DB

This first year gun has the high spur hammer. smooth walnut grips, Browning 1907 patent date on left side of slide, Colt logo on right side of slide and the 1884 pat. date magazine Condition. about 80% of the early dulling reapplied blue finish. Condition. 75-80% blue on slide with patina at last inch of slide from holster, scattered age freckling, legends all readable. Rear strap is patina as is bottom of trigger guard, balance of frame is 85% or better. Grips are excellent. Pony on left is light stamp but finish on slide appears to be original bright blue.
