US NAVY FOULED ANCHOR POWDER FLASK AMES 1843

Lot # 888 (Sale Order: 231 of 595)      

U.S. Navy powder flask for use with the Jenks rifle, Ames 1842 Boxlock pistol and other naval firearms. The top of the cap is marked "N.P. Ames" and is dated 1843 over inspectors marks. The body of the flask has the inspectors mark "RP" at the top, and the cap has inspectors mark "P" on the side. The spring is good and it retains the carrying loops. The are a couple of dings and a 3/4" slight seam split at the bottom. A very nice example of this flask. 9 1/2" Very Good-Excellent

U.S. COMMON RIFLE EAGLE & BUGLE POWDER FLASK

Lot # 889 (Sale Order: 232 of 595)      

A nice U.S. Common Rifle powder flask meant to be used with the 1817 Common Rifle and later the 1841 Mississippi Rifle. Has 2 sided design of an eagle over U.S. and a bugle. The flask was probably made by Robert Dingee, but the cap and charger were replaced long ago and it is unmarked. Has supports but the rings are missing. Has some dings and wear. 8 1/2" Very Good

Walnut stock with brass tipped steel ramrod . CONDITION: Barrel is a modern replacement likely from an Italian arms maker. The bore is nice. The action is crisp. One piece stock has an expert repair at the tang. The stock has sharp edges and a nice cartouche on the left flat. The brass has a very nice patina. RMA ANTIQUE

Block is dated 1870. Serial number on left side of frame and barrel, Early folding ladder rear sight, Lock is dated 1863 utilizing a Civil War era leftover. Standard two band, full length walnut stock. Condition. Metal is freckled gray patina. Stock has crack on left side. Bore is bright. ANTIQUE DB

BARREL 9", CALIBER .65. Antique British Tower flintlock pistol. The pistol features original flintlock configuration, brass hardware and swivel ram rod. Lock is marked Tower behind the hammer and Crown over GR under the pan. CONDITION: Metal is dark with pitting and scale. Markings are visible on lock and on barrel breech. Hammer is a period replacement as it should be a closed throat hammer. Ram rod is and old period replacement and does not fit the diameter of the muzzle. The lock is missing part of the safety behind the hammer and the front sidelock screw is replaced. The lock will cock one click, but will not release with the trigger. The brass hardware has numerous age related marks. The butt cap is marked E over 41 and the trigger guard is 12 over LD. The one piece stock shows wear and handling marks. There is an old repair using brass by the ram rod channel. RMA ANTIQUE

The touch hole is plugged. There is a brass eschueon on wrist, and lion face on butt cap. The one piece stock is carved and has considerable wear. It is shy in places along barrel channel. There is an old repair at butt cap, and scattered cracking. The old carved ram rod is not original to the pistol. RMA ANTIQUE

US MODEL 1816 SIMEON NORTH FLINTLOCK PISTOL

BARREL 9", CALIBER .54 MFG 1817-1820, Total production 19,374. One piece walnut stock with iron furniture. Faint lock marked "S. NORTH over Eagle " MIDLN CONN" under eagle. Lock is not dated. Faint barrel inspected at breech "P" over "US". Iron hardware and one piece stock. CONDITION: The pistol appears to be original flintlock. The action works. Metal parts are dark and pitted. The walnut stock has impressions and heavy wear. There is a crack at the butt and side lock screw. . The ramrod is a replacement. RMA ANTIQUE

WATERS MILLBURY MASS 1837" breech marked with "P" proof and inspectors marking "JCS" .No visible cartouche on stock. CONDITION, Good with dark metal with scattered pitting. Looks to be in original flintlock configuration. Action works in full cock only. The stock has been sanded and varnished at one time. It has cracks, impressions and repairs. RMA ANTIQUE

BARREL 33". CALIBER .58. MADE 1862-1865 AKA ZOUAVE RIFLE. Dated 1863 on lock. Barrel is dated 1863 along with VP Eagle head proof., Features brass furniture to included patch box, bands and trigger guard along with butt plate. Other features include 3-leaf folding rear sight, post front sight, right side mounted bayonet lug. CONDITION: Barrel retains much of the original blue finish, but is heavily pitted at breech from firing. The bore has visible rifling and scattered pitting. The Lock plate has light pitting and visible markings. The action is crisp. The brass is a nice mellow color. The stock has impressions and marks. There are two sharp cartouches on left flat. A good example of this rifle. RMA ANTIQUE
