(N) WORLD WAR I ERA WINCHESTER MANUFACTURED BROWNING MODEL 1918 BAR RETROFITTED TO 1918A2 CONFIGURAT

Lot # 1026 (Sale Order: 26 of 596)

Highly desirable Winchester manufactured BAR Model 1918 originally manufactured in November 1918 as indicated by the barrel date. As many were, this specimen was retrofitted during World War II, and although it still retains the first variation adjustable gas cylinder plug and wooden buttstock, it also has a bipod, carrying handle, smooth wooden forend and "F A S" selector markings. British nitro proof and firing test proofs on left side of barrel indicate this gun was in British hands before returning to the United States. Desirable accessories include an original checkered forend in extremely fine condition, a contemporary smooth wooden forend, seven 20 round magazines, a green web sling, two green canvas magazine pouches, a U.S. Combat Bookshelf softcover manual on the Browning Automatic Rifles, and an "Armasteel" handgrip assembly for the firer who would like a pistol grip when shooting a BAR. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is fine to very fine with over 90% World War II era smooth arsenal refinish with some thinning and wear to a grey patina at the high edges. Buttstock exhibits a crack 2-1/4" on right side and 4" on left side at a slight angle from the boreline from the receiver towards the butt. This does not affect serviceability. Otherwise the wood exhibits light but typical handling marks and dings. Bore has strong rifling turning dark in the grooves. Mechanics are crisp. The BAR is always a favorite among collectors and shooters. A historic classic which is also loads of fun as the range. Many times I have heard the chuckle and seen the grin on a shooters face even I have heard the steady, "thump, thump, thump" report of the BAR. A great machine gun! From the estate collection of noted cartridge collector and World War II veteran William H. Woodin. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO & RELIC ELIGIBLE. Accessories: Magazine Pouches, Magazines, Manual, Extra Trigger Mechanism, Forends Barrel Length: 24" Caliber/Bore: .30-06 FFL Status: NFA Manufacturer: Winchester Model: M1918 Sear Serial Number: 105722 Serial Number: 105722Condition: Dimensions:

(N) DESIRABLE STONER DESIGNED AR-10 MACHINE GUN ON CENTRAL KY ARMS REGISTERED RECEIVER (FULLY TRANSF

Lot # 1039 (Sale Order: 39 of 596)

Fine Armalite AR-10 machine gun made from an original "BNP" proofed heavy barreled parts kit manufactured onto a "CENTRAL KY ARMS, CYNTHIANA, KY" receiver. Duke Ballenge made receivers in the early 1980’s and then acquired parts kits and assembled them into fully transferable machine guns. He did an absolutely stellar job bringing a few more fully transferable specimens of this landmark historic Stoner design to Class III collecting community. This specimen includes two 20 round magazines. This design has an interesting history including its limited use by the military forces of Burma, Cuba, Guatemala, Italy, Portugal, and Sudan, as well as some being used by the French foreign legion. Reminiscent in appearance to the later AR-15, the AR-10 was designed to be a lightweight successor to the heavier M-14 and FN-FAL .308 rifles of the 1950’s, and was particularly appreciated by troops which used them in the Africa as being reliable, accurate, and packing the punch to be able to shoot through foliage as well as being effective at long range. Nearly all of the AR-10’s found in the United States are Sudanese and Portuguese guns brought in as parts kits and built onto semi-auto receivers, and it is fortunate when one can find a full-auto, fully transferable specimen. Included is one 20 round magazine. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent refinish upon remanufacture on metal parts with some handling marks visible on the composite furnishings. Bore is extremely fine, shiny and bright. Bolt face also extremely fine. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select fire machine gun. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4. Lot # 1047 (Sale Order: 47 of 596)

This nifty little machine gun utilizes .22 LR ammo only and includes one pan magazine and one drum driving mechanism. It is clear that someone had the Thompson machine gun in mind, at least superficially, when this was designed. The ribbed barrel, vertical foregrip, pistol grip, and detachable buttstock all are all reminiscent of Thompson features. Rear sight is very reminiscent of the U.S. 30 carbine. Markings are located on the left side of the receiver. There is a large knurled knob which allows for the removal of the barrel and fore grip assembly. This is a nice feature as it allows this gun to be disassembled for ease of transport in a very compact package. Cocking handle is on the left side, safety on the right side. As a consequent of having its rotating pan mag on top of the receiver reminiscent of the Russian DP-28, the sights of this machine gun are quite high. The neat magazine system utilizes a hand-wound spring device to rotate the drum on a steel plate which brings the rounds within the mag in-line to feed into the gun. When these are fired, the sound has been likened to that of a sewing machine, with the spay of bullets likened to, “A swarm of angry bees”. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine to near excellent deep lustrous blued finish on barrel with black hardcoat on receiver and top cover. Feed-way block shows use and loss of finish to a gray patina. Very attractive wood with some light handling marks. Bore is extremely fine, shiny and bright.
