Manufactured between 1883 - 1885 with a total production of 6,403 Colt Burgess rifles. Full octagonal barrel with a full magazine. Rocky Mountain front sight and sporting rear sight. Plain walnut front and rear stocks with a crescent buttplate and a rifle forend cap. Two-line address on top of the barrel flat and a Rampant Colt logo on the left side of the action. "+BURGESS PATENTS+" is stamped on top of finger lever. CONDITION: This is a brown gun with hints of some blue in the protected areas. Stocks have been lightly cleaned and the front stock has a couple of small cracks on the right side rear. Good bore with some slight frosting in the lands and grooves. Action is tight and crisp. The light carbine only weighs 5 lbs. Full round barrel with a full magazine and two barrel bands. Carbine front sight and a ladder rear sight. Two-piece plain walnut stock and forearm complete with carbine buttplate. Complete with factory letter stating that serial number was applied July 18, 1918. CONDITION: Excellent overall, with nearly all of the original bluing remaining on the barrel and magazine tube with light freckling and handling marks throughout. Frame has turned a mottled brown-grey patina. Stock and forearm are excellent as heavily cleaned with light scattered handling marks. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand and is tight. Bore is bright with modest abrasion and crisp rifling. A far better than average condition trapper with no need for an ATF exemption letter. Accompanying this gun are an ATF exemption letter classifying this carbine as a Curio and Relic firearm not subject to the National Firearms Act because of its scarcity and age as well as its considerable interest among collectors as well as a factory letter stating that the serial number was applied in June 10, 1920 (per the factory letter, no other information is available for this serial number). CONDITION: Excellent, with nearly all of the original bluing remaining on barrel and magazine tube assemblies with scattered light freckling. Barrel band and frame assembly are mostly a mottled dull grey patina with original bluing in protected areas. Stock and forearm are excellent, retaining virtually all of their original finish with scattered handling marks. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand. (A) BEAUTIFULLY EMBELLISHED MARLIN MODEL 1893 LEVER ACTION RIFLE.

Marlin Model 1893 lever action rifle made by the Marlin Firearms Company in 1893. We could not get a letter on this highly embellished gun. The action is gold-plated and fully engraved with scrolls in relief and a panel scene on the left side depicting a bull elk. There also is some scrollwork on the front grip cap, top of the buttplate, and the sides of the finger lever. It has a special order 30" tapered octagonal barrel with a tube magazine. Rocky Mountain front sight and Marlin Rocky Mountain Rear sight. The crescent buttplate, finger leaver, hammer, and front grip cap are all silver plated. It has a deluxe pistol grip rear stock with checkered panels at the wrist. The front stock has a wrap-around checkered panel. Both stocks are highly figured walnut. CONDITION: Gun shows just some slight storage and handling marks with a bit of blue loss at the muzzle of the barrel. Checkering on the stocks is sharp and crisp. One very small chip on the pistol grip. Bright and shiny bore with sharp lands and grooves. Blue 32" Winchester Proofed Steel barrel with Winchester address and "...moreMODEL-1901-10GA" with "FULL" choke marking. Blued action with "W.R.A. Co." in script on left side of action. Walnut plain round knob stock with steel checkered Widow's Peak buttplate and walnut plain sideplate forestocks. CONDITION: 95% plus original blue with some storage scratches and dings. 90% plus varnish with handling marks and dings. Excellent bore and mechanics. Would be nearly a perfect gun with the exception of a period added notched receiver sight on back of action. (A) CASED COLT 1878 SIDE BY SIDE SHOTGUN TWO BARREL SET.

Lot # 1225 (Sale Order: 122 of 323)      

Circa 1879. Made from 1878-1889 with a total 22,690. This is claimed by some to be Colt's first double barrel shotgun, which also proved to be a success for the company. It's also been regarded as on of the finest American made shotguns in US history. This vintage black powder 12 guage shotgun with two sets of Damascus barrels (A - 25") and (B - 30"). Both sets have extractors, 2 - 5/8" chambers, concave tapered ribs with brass round front bead sights. Bottom front lumps are stamped with the guns serial number "532". Chokes are (A) left Improved Cylinder and right is Skeet. (B) Left is Improved Modified and right is Modified. The gun is built with sidelock rebounding exposed hammers, blued checkered top lever, and double triggers. Sidelocks engraved "Colt Pt. F A Mfg. Co.". Actions water table stamped with serial number "532". Double triggers protected by a full length trigger guard extend to the guns pistol grip. Bottom strap stamped with guns serial number "532". The walnut stock with a well checkered rounded pistol grip is finished by a hard rubber Colt buttplate. Both splinter forearms with matched checkering, lever release and ebony tips. Interior iron metal also with serial number "532" stamped on both. Shotgun resides in a single leather case with brass corners which houses both sets of barrels, cleaning rod, extractor ring and reloading tools. CONDITION: Good. (A) Barrel with interior spotting and is slightly loose. (B) Right barrel with ding several inches back from muzzle and also with some interior spotting. Both barrels with spots of fading. Action is sound. Triggers are good. Stock is good with various handling marks. Forends are good with chips, handling marks and bruising. Case is good with some scuffs and bruises. Neat piece. Manufactured in 1889 and British proofed. This gun has a tapered octagonal barrel with a factory front sight and a No. 6 Lyman two-leaf rear sight. Smooth pump action with a tube magazine. Exposed case color hammer. Deluxe checkered pistol grip walnut rear stock with a checkered panel front stock. Two-line Colt address on the top flat of the barrel. Hard Rubber butt plate with the Rampant Colt logo on it. Rampant Colt Pony on the left side of the case colored receiver. CONDITION: Gun retains 60% of the original factory-applied blue finish with a few handling and storage marks The case color receiver has faded to a pleasing brownish patina and shows some freckling. Rear stock has a few dings and handling marks. The checkering is flat and there is a chip by the upper tang. Butt plate shows wear and has a small chip on the toe. The front stock has a nice checkered panel. Dark bore with lots of frosting in the lands and grooves. All blue gun with Rampant Colt logo on the left side of the receiver. Plain walnut rear stock, checkered panel front stocks, and a carbine buttplate. British proofed on the left side of barrel and action. CONDITION: Gun retains 80% of the original factory-applied blue finish with the remainder turning to an even brown patina. Case color hammer. Bright and shiny bore with sharp lands and grooves. Checkering on the front stocks shows some slight wear. Rear stock shows some handling and storage marks. It also has a small gouge on the right side of stock at the lower tang. There is a number "64" stamped into the stock on the right side by the buttplate.
