Circa 1985 - Holland & Holland era. A nice little game gun with 25" blacked steel barrels. Birmingham nitro proof barrels with ejectors and a smooth, tapered concave game rib. Rib fit with a steel front bead sight. Barrels and rib adorned with floral scroll near breech. Barrels read: "W.&C. SCOTT GUNMAKERS.", "BIRMINGHAM ENGLAND". Chokes are Full and Modified. Case colored scalloped boxlock action engraved with scrolls and with "W.&C. SCOTT" in banner. Action with double triggers, blacked engraved and checkered top lever and checkered safe slide. Gun is auto-safe. Blacked engraved trigger guard with right hand-rolled edge extends to a long bottom strap that is floral scroll engraved and with serial number "146998". Base of action is blacked and engraved with matching scroll and reads "THE CHATSWORTH". Lovely dark reddish-brown stock with fine checkering on an English straight hand grip, teardrops, diamond grip, gold shield and finished by a checkered butt. Matched checkered splinter forend with scroll engraved hardware and an Anson-styled push-button release. Shotgun lives in a canvas-covered toe under leather case with a black and gold W.&C. SCOTT leather case label affixed to the interior lid. Case is fit with a 2-piece cleaning rod with accessories for rod inside a leather pouch, nickel-plated 28 bore snap caps and a W & C Scott nickel-plated square oil bottle. CONDITION: Excellent. Barrels retain mostly all of their original color. Action is sound and retains most all of its original color. Triggers and ejectors operate well. Stock and forend with some handling/use indication. A virtually new over/under 20 gauge game gun with 28" monobloc barrels. Barrels are built with 3" chambers, ejectors and a narrow matte filed ventilated rib. Rib with brass front bead sight. Barrels are fit with Galazan interchangeable chokes. The brushed steel rounded frame boxlock action is built with a single inertia-driven blued trigger and is auto-safe. Action is built with serrated safe slide with integral barrel selector. The action is engraved with tight floral scrolls and game scene vignettes of a flying wood cock on right and a flying quail on left. Brush steel trigger guard with light floral scroll on bow and extends to a long bottom strap which is also engraved with scrolls. The reddish-brown English straight grip stock has 2-panel checkering and is finished by a brown leather covered pad. The slender game forend has matched checkering, Anson-style push-button release and floral scroll engraving on iron metal. CONDITION: Excellent. Barrels retain mostly all of their original color and condition. Action is clean and functions well with snap caps. Ejectors are in time and trigger is crisp. Rib with third bite lock-up extension and round front brass bead. Barrel flat marked with serial number "RE91264". Bottom of barrels marked with nitro marking as well as registration/trademarks. Top of barrels read "L.C.SMITH EAGLE GRADE" on right and "HUNTER ARMS CO INC. MFRS. HULTON. N.Y. U.S.A". Barrels also with a bit of floral scroll engraving at breech. Choked Full and Full. Case colored sidelock action with single trigger, barrel selector, engraved top lever and checkered thumb safety. Right lock is engraved with soaring duck over stippled background with surrounding scroll and "L.C. SMITH" in an old English style at bar. Left lock is engraved with flying pheasant and also with stippled (frosted) background and supported by surrounding scroll and with "L.C. SMITH" in an old English style at bar. Remaining parts of action are stippled and engraved with scroll, fences are stippled. Top lever is case colored, stippled and engraved with a standing eagle at head. Thumbpiece is checkered. Rib wit...moreh third fastener extension, small mid white bead and larger front white bead sight. The left barrel is marked on top "Hunter Arms Co. M'F'R'S Fulton NY USA." Right barrel marked on top "L.C. Smith Specialty Grade." Barrel flat is stamped "RE93646" with "S" beneath it. Choked Full and Full. The color case hardened action features a cross bolt third fastener and D Specialty Grade engraving of flowing scroll and game scenes. A pair of quail in tall grass on the left lock plate and a flying mallard on the right lock plate. Both lock plates read "L.C. SMITH" at bar in a classic old English font. Bottom of action is engraved with light scroll and reads "HUNTER ONE TRIGGER" at base near trigger guard. Top lever is case colored with light scroll and engraving and thumb piece is checkered. Safe slide is scored. Gun is non-auto safe. Single mechanical trigger is blued and with barrel selector on side. Blued trigger guard is lightly scroll engraved. Short bottom tang with serial number "RE93646". The reddish-brown American walnut stock is built with pinpoint checkering over wrist of slender pistol grip. Grip with black hardened rubber grip cap. Stock also with Monte Carlo cheekpiece and finished with a scored black buttplate. Checkered walnut splinter forend with black ebony tip inlay and roller release. CONDITION: Very good. The crowned 26 - 1/2" octagon to round blued steel barrel that has a matted integral spearpoint quarter rib fit with single standing express rear sight, matted ramped silver-tipped blade front sight and a fire blued barrel band front sling swivel. Top of the barrel is marked "W. GLASER - Waffen - ZURICH". Quarter rib fit with claw mounts holding a Doctor Optic 2.5-10x48 M scope. Rifle is built on the unique Heeren falling block action which is operated by pivoting the trigger assembly rearward for loading and cocking. The case color hardened action is border engraved with "HEEREN SYSTEM W GLASER" marked on top. There is a fire blued safety on the right side of the action body with an engraved "S". The rifle is fit with nicely figured reddish-brown walnut horn tip forearm and buttstock both with 2-panel point pattern checkering.
