Colt Single Action Army revolver .45 Colt caliber, 4 - ¾” barrel, finely oak leaf scroll engraved in classic German style signed Kurt Jaeger – Mainz. Serial number 34262 SA .This mid-1950s single action shows the signature of one of the best recognized master gun makers in Germany at this time. The top of the back strap shows fancy initials G.M.G. The pistol is European rust blued with engraving polished to a satin color to highlight the workmanship. The engraving is also silver inlaid in flush line borders. The pistol is mounted with well made custom Mastodon ivory grips that fit impeccably. The hammer and trigger are engine turned or jeweled. CONDITION: The action is crisp and the bore is excellent. The pistol remains in excellent condition as restored at time of engraving. In 1985, Smith & Wesson produced 2500 Model 29-3 .44 Magnum revolvers as a tribute to one of America's most beloved gun writers and firearms sage. They were a blue finish, 4" revolver with the smooth rosewood magna grips. The fluted cylinder has gold printed states such as 1st Outstanding Hand-gunner, Salmon Idaho, Six-guns, Hell, I was there representing his birth place, 1st Hand-gunner award and two of his most popular books. The left side of the barrel is stamped in gold "Smith & Wesson .44 magnum". Left side of frame is stamped 1-2500 and this one is serial number EMK 1119. The right side of the barrel is stamped "Elmer Keith Commemorative -44 magnum-1899-1984. The right side of frame has gold image of Keith and facsimile signature. This gun was built using an Uberti as its base. It is near exact in all aspects such as matching serial number including barrel and cylinder. Has all correct early features such as script barrel address, screw in frame and proper Ainsworth inspector marks and cartouche on the walnut one piece grips and finished in blue and case colors with nitre blue screws. This Colt left the factory, according to letter, on August 27th, 1902 as shipped to Simmons Hardware in St. Louis. It is listed as a .38-40 with a 5-1/2" barrel and blue finish. This revolver had an unmarked 16", .45 Long Colt barrel added and a matching new cylinder. Gun was reblued and recase colored. Caliber was checked but there are no stamps on barrel. A reproduction skeleton stock accompanies gun. CONDITION: It locks up tight and bore is near mint. Overall, cool gun that will be a great shooter and remains in near new condition as refinished and rebuilt. Both sport the scarce 8 - 3/8" barrel, factory nickel finish (stamped N inside frame), patridge front sight, adjustable rear sight, three screw, pinned barrels, recessed chambers, target rosewood grips with silver medallions. Both have case color target hammers and triggers. CONDITION: Both show signs of having been fired but still retain 99% original nickel finish with nice case colors and excellent grips with just usual handling marks found on nickel guns. (A) does have an owner ID inside the grip straps only visible when grips are removed. When the US Government simply could not get enough Model 1911 Colt Automatics on the front lines in France, they turned to Colt and Smith & Wesson for a supply of heavy duty revolvers. This gun was built on the large N frame, square butt, five screw frame. This gun features commercial quality factory high polish blue finish, six shot, fluted cylinder, case color hammer and trigger, lanyard ring, and smooth two piece walnut grips. Barrel is pinned and cylinder is cut to use half moon clips for the .45 ACP. The butt is marked "US Army". "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" is stamped under the barrel. Left side of frame has the Ordnance bomb. CONDITION: Aside from a few minor surface marks and a light drag line, gun is in near new condition inside and out. It comes with a fine condition, all original 1917 leather holster. The basis for this revolver is a standard US Army issue Model 1917 government stamped New Service with a 5 1/2" barrel in .45 ACP caliber. It features near full coverage engraving with scroll patterns with deep relief carved large cat on left side of frame and Mexican Eagle with snake on right side of frame. There is a relief carved horned steer on right side of barrel. The entire gun was plated very nicely, not chromed. The backstrap has an owner's name engraved "Gral. Rodolpo Fierro". The grips are polished horn. The original lanyard is present. CONDITION: Revolver retains most of the reapplied nickel finish with fine grips. Bore is fine and cylinder indexes correctly. The US Model 1909 is basically a New Service large frame revolver that was ordered by the US Government. Features six shot, double action, fluted cylinder, blued finish, walnut grips, and lanyard ring. Left side of the frame has inspector stamp "FB" Francis Baker, who only inspected the 1909 Colt, and "RAC" Renaldo Carr. Bottom of the barrel is stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and is "RAC" stamped. Back of cylinder is "RAC" stamped as well. Butt is stamped "US ARMY MODEL 1909". Colt pony on left side of frame is faint; all other markings sharp. CONDITION: Retains approximately 75% of the reapplied blued finish. Grips are very good with usual dings; no inspector stamps. Indexes and locks up fine. Strong rifled bore with some light frosting. Comes with a "RIA" 1911 dated U.S. Holster in excellent condition with toe plug. These were issued just prior to the introduction of the 1911; they were used in the Banana Wars and many saw action during the first World War as well. Low production and survival rate. Lot consists of: (A) U.S. Army Marked Model 1917. Standard World War I US issue with Army marking stamped on butt and GHS Gilbert Stewart inspector stamp on left side of frame. These featured a 5 - 1/2" barrel, commercial quality factory blue finish, six shot, double action, oil grooved hump-back hammer, two piece smooth walnut grips and a lanyard ring. CONDITION: Grey patina on straps, still retains 75-80% blue. Appears that the barrel and cylinder were put on later as they are much nicer than the frame. Grips are also correct style replacements and are slightly shy to metal. Action is fine and the bore is sharp but slightly frosted. (B) 1937 Brazilian Contract Model 1917. Has the crest of Brazil on right side of frame. Same configuration as above but grips are replacement commercial style pre-War type checkered grips with silver medallion. CONDITION: Gun retains approximately 60% original blue finish with some age spotting, various nicks and some minor pitting on left side of barrel. Strong rifling with minor frosting. Good action. CONDITION: 10% blue in hidden areas but basically all grey patina with scattered freckling. Sharp rifled bore. Grips excellent. Works fine both double and single action. (B) Colt Model 1895 U.S.Navy Marked double action revolver. Manufactured 1898. These were ordered by the U.S.Navy. This example was inspected by W.B. Whittelsey who only inspected a few guns for the Navy in the 95000 range in 1898 while America was at war with Spain. Butt is marked "U.S.N. (trident) / 38 DA / 9530" and "WBW" with serial number (Whittelsey). Has the Navy Model Colt black rubber grips. Features round barrel, six shot, fluted cylinder, double action, clean bore and action, blue finish. CONDITION: 25% original Colt factory blue finish while the balance is grey patina. Grips are very good with few minor chips along bottom. Strong bore and works correctly both single and double action. Good example that may clean nicer of a possible Spanish-American War used weapon. (C) Smith & Wesson U.S. Navy Victory Model double action revolver. Features war-time phosphate finish, six shot, double action, fluted cylinder, case color hammer and trigger, smooth walnut grips, and lanyard ring. Top of frame is stamped "US NAVY". These revolvers were made for the Navy during the second World War. CONDITION: Light overall edge wear but still retains approximately 95% of the original factory war-time finish. Fine bore and working action that could use a touch of tuning (we replaced a broken inner part but the action needs tuning). All three revolvers have matching numbers. The Thompson Center pistol system allows an owner to have one frame and buy as many different barrels they wanted for different chores. They are super strong actions and easy to change over barrels. All barrels are blue. Frame is matte blue with target rear sight. Grips and forends are walnut. The front sights are on each barrel.
