(N) DESIRABLE ORIGINAL MARLIN MANUFACTURED UNITED DEFENSE UD-42 MACHINE GUN (PRE-86 DEALER SAMPLE).

Lot # 3086 (Sale Order: 86 of 672)

The popular UD-42 machine gun is a very effective and easy-to-hold-on-target machine gun. Manufactured by Marlin for the United Defense Supply corporation, and originally intended to replace the Thompson. However, since it was still a machined steel machine gun and labor intensive to produce, it was instead utilized as an arm to be dropped behind enemy lines for resistance and Partizan use. As a machine gun chambered in 9mm it could utilize captured enemy ammunition. The British called it the “Avenger”, as an appropriate nickname for forces “avenging” the occupation of their country. Straightforward manufacturer’s markings on the left side of the receiver, this gun includes two original 25 round magazines which are brazed together at the front to provide easy access to 50 rounds in one assembly. ATF Registration form shows simply, "Marlin” in the manufacturer’s block, but tiny Inter American Import Export Company markings are visible under the serial number and on receiver. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is fine original finish turning brown with scattered light pinprick pitting. 5 - 1/2” long section of buttstock exhibits vintage wood replacement. Otherwise light dings and handling marks. Mechanics are fine. Bore is very good turning dark. Bolt face is fine. This is a select fire machine gun. A nice specimen and a fun fast firing machine gun to shoot. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS TRANSFERABLE ONLY TO ACTIVE FFL/SOT DEALERS ON AN ATF FORM 3 BUT MAY BE RETAINED BY SOLE PROPRIETOR FFL/SOT HOLDERS WHEN THEY RELINQUISH THEIR LICENSES UPON BATF APPROVAL. JWK 2019-10-46 Accessories: 2 Magazines Barrel Length: 11" Caliber/Bore: 9mm Para FFL Status: NFA Manufacturer: Marlin Model: UD-M42 Serial Number: 11374 Condition: Dimensions:

(N) VETERAN HARRINGTON AND RICHARDSON REISING MODEL 50 MACHINE GUN (PRE-86 DEALER SAMPLE).

Lot # 3095 (Sale Order: 95 of 672)

Veteran example of a smooth finish Reising Model 50 machine gun with compensator. Stock has vintage side sling swivels and original green web military sling of Korean War era vintage. One 20 round magazine is included with this lot. The Reising Model 50 is a quality-built machine gun which was fielded in limited numbers mostly to the Marine corps during WW2. It may well be that some were held on to for Korea as well. Side mounting of the sling was a particular preference of the British, but this is simply offered as an observation. The Reising has an intrinsic accuracy advantage of firing from a closed bolt on the first shot. The Reising Model 50 is a popular entry level machine gun today. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is very good to fine original finish turning a nice even grey brown patina with some thinning to gray finish. There is a 3 " long crack in the wood at the forward sling swivel which does not affect serviceability. Mechanics are fine. Bore is extremely fine, shiny and bright. Bolt face is extremely fine. Wood has numerous dings, bruises and handling marks. Vacant holes at underside of stock where original sling swivels were removed. Wear pattern yet clean critical internals indicate this was a Soldier’s combat used weapon. JWK 2019-10-42 Accessories: Attached sling and 1 Magazine Barrel Length: 10 - 1/2" Caliber/Bore: .45 ACP FFL Status: NFA Manufacturer: H&R Model: M50 Serial Number: 113426 Condition: Dimensions:
