(C) Wells Fargo Marked Colt Single Action Army Revolver.

Lot # 384 (Sale Order: 379 of 545)

Factory letter states serial No. 327556 was shipped as a blue (and case colored) 4-3/4" .45 Colt caliber, sold to Branson & Griswald of Trinidad, Colorado but shipped to Wyeth Hardware & Manufacturing in St. Joseph, Missouri on September 22nd, 1913. The butt of this revolver is stamped "W.F. & CO.", there has been no manipulation to this service, the application appears to be contemporary to this gun and the fonts match favorably with existing examples; we feel very confident in the authenticity of this stamping. As to condition; the gun is all original and untouched with the exception it appears the grips were replaced at one time but are period correct grips, not reproductions. The barrel and housing retain approximately 80% of the Colt original factory blue. Front sight has not been taken down. There is evidence of holster wear and muzzle wear. The cylinder retains approximately 70% original blue, especially bright in flutes. Most of the case colors have patterned out to a mottled mix of grey but there is some color on both front areas of frame. The strap are basically grey patina. Screws are fairly square. Exhibits all four Colt clicks and locks up like a vault. Bore exhibits strong rifling. A very clean, Colorado shipped single action that was probably part of a private purchase by the Wells Fargo Company, which was fairly common for Wells Fargo distribution. A very clean example.Barrel Length: 4 - 3/4"Caliber/Bore: .45 ColtFFL Status: Curio & RelicManufacturer: ColtModel: SAAPaperwork: No Serial Number: 327556

(C) High Condition Mauser Model 1914 Humpback Semi-Automatic Pocket Pistol.

Lot # 386 (Sale Order: 381 of 545)

Listed in Pender's book as the Late Transition on pages 104-105. Has the three line patent address on left side of slide, Mauser banner on left side of frame, matching numbers, crown "U" on back of slide. Features the milled frame on right side, short extractor. Extractor retains nearly all of its Nitre blue finish, as do sides of trigger. We are referring to this as a late Transition due to the fact that it has the three line patent date and the 1/8"x1/4" panel above safety but has the front sight set at front, as found on the late humpback. We do not know how rare this gun is, as it has traits of both a Transition and Late Model. Fire blue on trigger, extractor and barrel release. Overall factory blue remains at 99% with just a single visible small mark and freckling on front grip strap. Grips are excellent to near mint with some added varnish. The nickel magazine is unmarked. Fine bore and action.Barrel Length: 3 - 1/2"Caliber/Bore: 7.65mmFFL Status: Curio & RelicManufacturer: MauserModel: 1914Paperwork: No Serial Number: 1991

(C) US Colt Model 1911A1 1924 Transition Semi-Automatic Pistol.

Lot # 392 (Sale Order: 387 of 545)

In 1924, Colt sent 10,000 pistols to the Ordnance Department with several new changes resulting from complaints about the original Model 1911; the most distinguishing figure being the arched mainspring housing, which better filled the hand. These were the first pistols delivered to the US Army since 1919 and no others would be shipped until 1938. The Government stated through channels that these new pistols should be designated the A1 Models to differentiate them from the standard 1911, thus these were the first of the now famous 1911A1 pistols shipped to the United States Government. All correct features include flat top rear sight with radius corners, checkered wide spur hammer, checkered slide stop and safety, checkered arched mainspring housing with ring, new short checkered trigger. Right side of slide is still marked with the old stamp "MODEL OF 1911 US ARMY". Right side of slide has patent dates. Right side of frame is stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" with serial number. Left side of frame is stamped with the "WTG" initials in circle for Captain Walter T. Gorton who served from December 5th, 1921 to March 3rd, 1926. Comes with all blued pinned base magazine. Blued barrel is stamped "COLT .45 AUTO". As to condition, the slide has a couple of small storage marks and there is some thinning on grip safety, but this pistols appears to be nearly unfired. Retains fully 98% of its factory original finish. Nearly unimproveable transition 1911A1 US Army. From the G. Thomas Puett Collection.Barrel Length: 5"Caliber/Bore: .45 ACPFFL Status: Curio & RelicManufacturer: ColtModel: M1911A1Paperwork: No Serial Number: 705479
