(C) Extremely Rare High Original Condition Late Parker GH 10g Gauge With Steel Barrels (1929).

Lot # 52 (Sale Order: 51 of 545)

This superb big bore Parker has Parker special steel barrels, full length matted top rib with twin white beads, double triggers, extractors, auto-safety, No. 3 frame. Unstruck barrel weight of 5lbs. Capped pistol grip buttstock is checkered in three point pattern with vacant shield near toe and has an aged red pad. Splinter forearm with Deeley release and engraved steel tip are checkered in diamond pattern. Case hardened action in engraved in standard late G Grade pattern with flying ducks on both left and right side and with ducks in small circle on trigger plate. Action is marked "Parker Bros." on both sides. Trigger guard with burst of scroll on bow and serial number at tang. All visible serial number match. Very fine and collector quality. Barrels retain nearly all of a professional quality restored finish which is difficult to discern from original in color and contrast. Action retains nearly all of its bold original case color, silvering on fences but dark and vivid elsewhere. Trigger guard retains more than 90% of its original blue. Stocks are sound and retain most of their original finish with finish added for preservation. There is a streak behind the top tang where likely a bore solvent ran down the stock and extends to pad. This could be fixed by some of today's top wood workers. Pad is an older replacement and is beginning to harden. Mechanics are crisp and bores are bright and shiny with a small ping in right tube about 10" from the muzzle. This is a rare Parker with The Parker Story indicating production of 40 in this configuration, and would be very difficult to improve upon. (C) Rare 10 Gauge DHE Parker Bros. SXS Shotgun with Titanic Steel Barrels (1919).

Lot # 53 (Sale Order: 52 of 545)

With an estimated production of 45 (31 with 32" barrels), this gun can certainly be classified as rare. All correct factory markings are on matted rib, barrel flats and lump. No. 3 frame features automatic safety and nickel-plated double triggers. All correct markings are on water table. Action is engraved in early "D" style, but with special scenes portraying ducks instead of the normal dogs; a standing mallard is on left, and flying mallard on right. Four ducks fly across trigger plate. "PARKER BROS" is in usual scrolled banner behind each duck scene on sides surrounded by scroll. Trigger guard with scroll on bow has serial number on tang. Well made replacement buttstock of lightly figured European walnut is finished in traditional "D" style with drop points, point pattern checkering, vacant silver oval, skeleton steel buttplate, and has a Parker Brothers grip cap. Original splinter ejector forend with steel tip and Parker's Deeley type release has patent date on iron. Fine, as partially restored. Barrels retain approximately 80% original blue with numerous scuffs and light scratches. Action retains a considerable amount, perhaps 35% original case hardening color, the balance silver to silver gray with some staining. Trigger guard has traces of original blue on bow. New buttstock retains nearly all of its original finish with some light marks. Checkering shows a little wear. Original forend has added oil to finish, checkering somewhat worn. Bores are excellent, with one or two scattered very light pits. Action is tight. Ejectors are slightly out of time. Barrel Length: 32"Barrel Wall Thickness: (L) .060 (R) .060Chamber: 2 - 7/8"Choke: Full and fullDrop at Comb: 1 - 9/16"Drop at Heel: 2 - 1/2"FFL Status: Curio & RelicGauge: 10 Ga.Internal Bore Diameter: (L) .792 (R) .796Length Of Pull: 14 - 1/8"Manufacturer: ParkerModel: DHEPaperwork: No Serial Number: 183655Weight: 9 lbs 13 oz.

(C) Mate to Roy Rogers' 12 Bore, A 20 Bore Custom Winchester Grand American made for Dale Evans with

Lot # 57 (Sale Order: 56 of 545)

According to Cody Firearms Museum records this gun was completed January 1968 for cowboy movie hero, Roy Rogers, with name plate engraved with his wife's name, "Dale" which is also in gold on grip cap. Two sets of 28" barrels ("1" and "2") marked on loops and tips of forend irons, have raised matted ventilated ribs, marked "CUSTOM BUILT BY WINCHESTER FOR ROY ROGERS" in milled out portion at rear of ribs. There are 2-1/2" triangles of exceptionally well cut semi-relief open shaded scroll at breech ends. Engine turned barrel flats are stamped with serial numbers, gauge, and chamber information along with Winchester proofs. Barrel set "1" is marked for modified and full; barrel set "2", skeet 1 and 2. Blued flat side action has all correct markings on engine turned water table, and is fitted with non-automatic safety and gold-plated single non-selective trigger. Action is engraved in "Grand American" style with oak leaf carved fences, but is obviously special order throughout with scenes and characters important in Roy's life. On the left side in a background of well cut open shaded scroll, we have a vignette of Roy's pointer, Sam, pointing a flushing pheasant in open woodlands. Right side depicts Roy (?) in cowboy hat shooting trap with mountains in background, he appears to be aiming at a 1966 dated clay target marked "Winchester National Claybird Tournament". Roy and Dale were avid trap and skeet shooters. Bottom of action portrays two animals important in Roy and Dale's life; his co-stars, a German Shepherd, Bullet, is seated and looking toward you at front, and his horse, Trigger, is rearing with cactus in background at rear. (M) Attractive Piotti "MONOCO 3" Sidelock Ejector Side by Side Game Shotgun with Extra Barrels.

Lot # 74 (Sale Order: 73 of 545)

This obviously custom made set that is not importer marked, features two sets, 25-5/8" and 28-3/8" chopper lump barrels engraved "FLLI PIOTTI GARDONE V.T." on slightly raised file matted ribs. Barrel flats are stamped with 2000 Italian nitro proofs on 25-5/8" barrels which are numbered to match action. 28-3/8" barrels with gold star on breech end of rib are serial numbered "0111P" have 2001 Italian nitro proofs. Coin finished robust sidelock action features non-automatic safety, gold band tumbler end cocking indicators, and double triggers (front articulated). Action is well filed and engraved with a masterful unique rendition of exceptionally well cut shaded scroll which has tendrils and flowers intruding into a shaded background of minuscule scroll. This very attractive treatment surrounds superbly detailed Bulino scenes of birds on lockplates; mallard drakes and a hen flying over marsh, with trees in background on left, and on right there is a sylvan scene of pair of woodcock, one still nestled on ground, with another taking flight into background of large and small alders. Bottom of action depicts what is most likely a portrait of the original owners dog retrieving a woodcock. Engravers signature "M. Terzi" is on trigger plate. Single beaded trigger guard has more floral scroll with serial number in gold on tang. Intricately dark veined and stump figured European walnut straight grip buttstock with point pattern checkering on diamond hand measures 14-1/2" over brown leather covered pad. A vacant gold oval is on toe line. Checkering is especially well done with mullered borders stopping short of borderless large diamonds inside front apexes. Matching splinter ejector forend has Anson release, and services both sets of barrels. Reddish brown leather case with stitched leather corners by Nizzoli has leather trimmed green canvas outer cover, is lined in royal blue cloth, and has gold embossed Piotti label in lid. Case contains cleaning equipment and round oil bottle. Excellent, close to new, with evidence of only light field use, mostly some light marks on left side of butt, and some very minor small marks on barrels. Coin finish on action is slightly darkened on bottom. Bores are excellent. Mechanically excellent.Accessories: hard case, 2 sets of barrels Barrel Length: 25 - 5/8", 28 - 3/8"Chamber: 2 - 3/4"Choke: (25 - 5/8") L- Lt. Mod., R-Imp. Cyl., (28 - 3/8") L-Mod., R-Lt. Top of the Beretta line, at the time this gun was made, this custom creation has 28" mono-bloc barrels fitted with flat matted ventilated rib. Left side of top barrel is engraved "P. Beretta - ITALY". Sides of mono-bloc are engine turned and bottom is stamped with grade, serial number, and 1978 Italian nitro proofs. Coin finished, low profile Beretta patent over-under sidelock action features gold-plated single non-selective trigger with checkered finger blade, and non-automatic safety. This fine work surrounds oval framed vignettes of dogs and game, the major subjects of which are relief inlaid in gold, backgrounds are finely detailed with dramatic skies. A pointer watches a grouse depart from hilltop on left lockplate, while another pointer looks at possibly the same grouse from the other side of the hill, on right plate. Bottom of action has portrait of same pointer as on right lock. Engravers signatures, one the well known G. Timpini, head of the Beretta engraving school, the other, Golini, are on trigger plate. This well cut scroll extends to top lever with gold inlaid crown and pierced thumbpiece, and double beaded trigger guard with the grade engraved on tang. Appealing quilted figured and nicely marbled European walnut pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/2" over checkered wood butt. Point pattern checkering is at grip. A brown leather Beretta label is in lid. Bottom compartment is semi-French fitted for some accessories including cleaning equipment and snap caps. Three rosewood handled turnscrews are in covered compartment. Excellent, with evidence of relatively light field use, and not a lot of firing. Barrels retain nearly all of their original blue, with a few exceptionally small marks. Action retains essentially all of its coin finish, with no evidence of subsequent cleaning. Stocks retain over 95% original finish with some chips and wear on sharp edges, possibly with some added oil. Checkering has darkened. Bores are excellent. Mechanically excellent. Case leather is excellent, with a few scuffs. Straps and handle are good. Interior is very fine, a bit dusty. Accessories are excellent.
