(C) DWM Navy Rework Police Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol.

Lot # 62 (Sale Order: 62 of 678)

Featured in the book "Police Lugers" by Edward B. Tinker and Dwight Gruber on pages 94-99. This is a hard to find Police rework pistol that started out as an Imperial Navy Luger, reworked for the precinct police "R" of the Western Inspectorate in Chorlottenburg "W.I.". After being reorganized to get away from complicated district structure in favor of a unified organizational structure, the first unit mark "W.I.R112." from 1922 had been canceled. They then re-marked their equipment accordingly. The second police mark "S.B.5262." from 1932 is still visible. Unusual characteristics of this gun are as follows: Serial number is stamped on the frame inside of the left grip; the original grip safety has been removed; the frame has been shortened to take a standard P-08 barrel; the lower position safety mark has been removed and replaced at the upper position, this happened in the first World War and is known as the "First Issue, Altered"; a hole behind trigger was drilled for the magazine safety but was never installed; and the sear safety has been installed. Features V notch rear sight with factory dovetailed front sight, and unnumbered arsenal replacement wood grips. Retains approximately 92-95% finish of the arsenal reblue. Aluminum bottom blue magazine numbered 5933. Bore is good with sharp lands and grooves. Scarce matching numbered holster made by FRANZ COBAU in 1933. Accepted by the sunburst/L police inspector. Stitching is tight and the leather is in great shape with no crazing. A scarce Luger with lots of character and provenance. Comes with an author signed copy of the book "Police Lugers".Accessories: Holster BookBarrel Length: 3 - 7/8"Caliber/Bore: 9mm LugerFFL Status: Curio & RelicManufacturer: DWMModel: P-08Paperwork: No Serial Number: 4506 Condition: Dimensions:

(C) 1905 DMW Dutch Prototype Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol.

Lot # 73 (Sale Order: 73 of 678)

Also known as the "Hollandsch Model", this gun is featured in the following two books: first, "The Dutch Luger" pages 118-126 and second "The Borchardt & Luger Automatic Pistols" pages 296-301. This is a very interesting and historical pistol. It is in the B suffix range. The B suffix was set aside for prototype Lugers. This is one of the ten guns that was ordered in December 1904 and delivered in August of 1905 for the Dutch contract of 174 trials pistols. The significance of this gun is that it gave way to the "New Model" Luger, or Model 1906. Quite a few significant changes were made to this gun, first the frame was modified to take a coil main spring instead of a flat leaf spring. This was done by machining a new part and dovetailing it into the frame. This was also the first pistol that had flat toggle knobs and the omission of a toggle lock. Extractor is marked "GLADEN" only on the left side and the thumb safety is marked "RUST" with an arched arrow pointing up into the safe position. Like all Dutch Lugers this one is in poor shape but is the only known example out of the first ten Dutch guns. A very well documented gun. Here is a chance to own a very historical prototype Luger that is in the B suffix range.Barrel Length: 4"Caliber/Bore: 9mm LugerFFL Status: Curio & RelicManufacturer: DWMModel: Dutch PrototypePaperwork: YesSerial Number: 10130B Condition: Dimensions:
