**Springfield M1A National Match Devine Texas.

Lot # 788 (Sale Order: 784 of 832)

Serial # 002470 This is a Springfield Armory M1A in .308 Winchester caliber. It is a Semi-auto rifle with a removable magazine. This weapon is one of the original Springfield Armory weapons known as THE DEVINE and was made while Springfield Armory was in Devine Texas (stamped under barrel). They were made with GI military-spec parts. This receiver is No. 002470. Front sight .062 and reamed flash hider with bayonet lug, NM hooded rear sight. NM rear sight is adjustable in ½ MOA increments through finer threads in the sight base and windage knob, and through half-turn rotation of a hooded eccentric rear sight aperture, which makes it one of the most accurate and fine-tuned sights ever made for the very few National Match rifles that were ordered by the Government. Bolt is stamped “SACA1. Gun sports a 22” barrel, parkerized finish, walnut stock, composite hand guard, and OD sling. Metal retains virtually all of the original finish. Wood is excellent. Fine bore and action. These early Devine M1s are getting extremely hard to come by.

** U.S. Inland M1 Paratrooper Type Carbine.

Lot # 792 (Sale Order: 788 of 832)

Serial # 91129 According to the M1 Carbine book by J.C. Harrison page 163 "No original M1 had the bayonet lug". Harrison writes, these were produced by Inland only from 1942 to 1944. This carbine has an 18" Inland barrel dated 11/42, which would have been the earliest date of manufacture for a Paratrooper Model. This post-WWII rebuilt and reparkerized. example does have the bayonet lug. Pistol grip has the proof "P", left side of stock has "RIA" and "EB" in a square (cartouche). According to the book on page 164, the Inland M1 with the bayonet lug is a post World War II field replacement stock on an arsenal upgrade carbine. This would also explain the double inspectors and the reparkeized finish with light barrel stamp. The folding stock is all original per the book and is a highwood stock cut down during rebuild. Buttplate has the part number cast in the metal. Nut plate is correct. All other aspects of the rig are original manufacture. Excellent bore and action. A fine example of a post-World War II field replacement field trooper carbine. Carsenal re - build. High wood stock converted to low wood during re - build.

**Boxed Win. Pre-64 Super Grade .375 H&H Rifle.

Lot # 796A (Sale Order: 793 of 832)

Serial # 104426 Offered is another one of the most desirable of all pre-64 Model 70's. It is a factory Super Grade rifle manufactured in 1949 in the popular .375 Holland & Holland cartridge. According to the book (The Rifleman's Rifle) by Roger Rule, only 2.41% of total production were manufactured in this chamber. Given the high retail price of this gun at the time, the number of Super Grade in this caliber would be infinitely smaller still. Standard features include a 25" heavy round barrel, bolt action, blued finish, deluxe checkered walnut stocks, factory red rubber recoil pad, factory sling eyes, and pistol grip cap. The gun is in beautiful all original condition as it left the factory. It has the sporting front and fold down rear sight. The metal surfaces retain virtually all of the factory blue finish, with a hint of wear on the trigger guard. Checkering is sharp. Wood is near mint with no cracks or chips, just a couple of minor impressions on left side of stock. Bore and action are perfect. Rifle is housed in a period correct reproduction box with a complete set of reprinted paperwork, original Winchester marked sling, and swivels. One would be hard pressed to fine a finer condition Super Grade in this chambering. A true post-war classic capable of taking down the world's most dangerous game. An African favorite.
