1970's Springfield Hanging Barometer and Temperature Gauge
Here is a classic wall 'weather station' of the 1970-80's. The piece is made of walnut wood and brass plated metal and has 3 different stations to help you figure out the current weather conditions. the bottom one measures the humidity, the middle gives you the barometric pressure, and the top is the temperature gauge. Not sure of workability. It was manufactured by the Springfield Instrument Co. of Hackensack, NJ 07602.
Elsie the Cow Ceramic Cookie Jar 1950-60s
This cow admiring the butterfly on its tail cookie jar, is very reminiscent of the Elsie the Cow of the Borden Company. Their are no marks as to a manufacturer. The head removes so that you can get your hand into those delicious cookies that we all know Mom bakes! There don't appear to be any chips or cracks of any kind, as photos will show. The jar measures approx. 11" long from tail to front, is 6 1/2" wide at the girth, and with the head/lid on measures about 10" to the top of the horns. Don't miss out on this rare find!
Sawyer's View-Master 3-D Pictures
You will get a 1930's Sawyer's (Portland, Oregon) View-Master that lets you see third dimension pictures in full color Kodachrome. Included with it are 21 reels, most with their original covers, the original box (a bit beat up) is also included with the viewer (made of bakelite) and place to hold reels. This is one of the earliest versions of the View Master that you can find. There are reels on Early Los Angeles. The Golden Gate International Exposition, Santa Barbara, CA , Water Falls along the Columbia Hwy., Cyprus Gardens, Death Valley, Palm Springs, Hollywood, Hawaiian National Park, and many more (21 total). The viewer kinda works with some coaxing, and is still fun to look at with the reels.
Melton Movie Viewer 1950's
Here is a pocket movie viewer with its original box (missing end and creased) and some paperwork. The viewer appears to work when I turn the crank and view the images. I also used the rewind function to see if it worked as well. This viewer made it possible to carry a portable movie to show your friends in your pocket. The viewer is about 5 1/2" tall and 3 1/2" wide and 1 3/4" thick.
Vintage Cow Bell with Riveted Sides
This vintage (70+ yrs) cow bell came from the Estate of a man that worked for Knudsen Company for over 30 years (retired in the mid 80's). These bells were used on the lead cows to lead the heard back to the barns when it was dinner time. This bell has the riveted sides of older construction. The bell, in original condition, measures approx. 7 1/2" tall and is 6" wide. When rang it is really loud!
Japanese Lacquer ware Musical Dancing Figure Jewelry Box 1950-60's
Lacquer design on wood Asian/Japanese Jewelry Box. When top center lid is opened the dancer turns in a circle and it plays a very typical Asian tune. It has three opening doors on the top with two drawers on the front (no key). Jewelry box sits on top of two legs and measures approx. 13" wide x 8" tall x 6" deep. It is in overall good condition for its age with only minor chipping touch ups (as seen in photos).
Three Early 20th Century Vintage Items; Spectacles, Bakelite Desk Calendar, Gentleman's Razor
This lot contains three really cool vintage (pre-1930) items. The first is an old pair of gold-filled glasses (spectacles), oval lens bifocals about 4 1/4" across with loop style ear holders, in case. The next is a bakelite desk calendar 3 1/2"x 3 1/2"x 3 1/2". The last item is a Gentleman's razor in case, 'Valet Autostrap Razor (3 1/2" long with 4"case), gold-plated razor with extra blades.
Pair of old Solid Brass Candlesticks
Pair of really nice vintage turned solid brass candlesticks. This pair was purchased sometime during the 1950's to compliment the Maple, light wood, furniture of the Period. This pair has a great old patina to them with verdigris around the bases. They measure approx. 9" high each, have 3 1/4" squared bases, and weigh a total of almost 4lbs. Nice lot of late 19th Century (1800's) Family Photos
This lot contains three old family photos of a Father, Mother and child. Two of them are in holders (that each have broken covers-seen in photos), they are done as Deguerreotypes. This is an early photographic process employing an iodine-sensitized silvered plate and mercury vapor to develop the picture.The childs photo is done as a 'tintype', and is processed on a metal background. Kafka Screened 'Foil' Etching
This is a Kafka screened foil etching by Kafka Industries (1980's). It is framed in glass and measures approx. 27" x 23".
Oil/Acrylic Painting on Board Boats with Windmill
Painting is either an oil or acrylic (?) on board with the subject being some boats on a river near a windmill. The painting exhibits the look of a 'Paint by Numbers' technique, but when examined up close has a built of varnish on its surface. Painting measures approx 22" wide by 28" tall, framed.
Western Themed Print by Geo (George) Pippen (1915-66)
This nicely done Western print was done by George Pippen (of Prescott, AZ), the co-founder & 1st President of the famed "Cowboy Artists of America". This early print, titled "Ever Watchful" in under glass, signature is below bottom lower left edge of frame and in a wooden frame (has some scuffs). Frame measures approx 26" wide by 20 1/2". The print has some condition issues (spot and creases) as shown in the photos.
Watercolor Print "Paradise Brook" by Roy M. Mason
This is a watercolor print by Ketterling Printing (1950-60's) of Roy M. Mason's "Paradise Brook". Print is nicely framed in wood, under glass. The overall frame measures approx 18 1/2" high by 23" wide. See detailed photos for overall condition.
Robert H. Blair (1928-2007) 'Mountainmans Days Hunt' Watercolor Print
This watercolor lithograph was done by famed Naturist artist Robert H. Blair, print signed on lower right. The print (circa 1980's) is handsomely framed and matted under glass with a very rustic wooden frame (few nicks) . The frame measures approx 30" wide by 23 1/2" tall. See overall condition in photos.
Western Art Print by Charlie Dye (1906-72)
This Western art print/lithograph is by Charlie Dye on of the co-founders of the "Cowboy Artist of America". The print has a few flaws in the print and some minor water staining in the upper right (seen in photos). It is framed in wood (some marks seen in photos) behind glass and measures approx 27" wide by 21" tall.
Aldo Luango Lithograph
This is a lithograph (signed in the print) of an original black charcoal done by Aldo Luango, born in 1941 in Argentina of Italian heritage. The image is of "children holding hands in a field of flowers". He captures the spirit of 'young love' in his sketch (1969) art style. "A balance between memory and hope, sorrow and humor, freedom and control". The metal frame measures approx 24 1/2" by 31 1/2" with silver aluminum frame behind glass. .

Zacatecas Mexican Woven Wool Rug Pre-Columbian Snake & Bird Design (1960's)
This rug was hand loomed in Northern Mexico, of the Zacatecas region. It was gotten while the family was on vacation down to Mexico City back in the 1960's. It features some of the typical designs of the time taken from the Aztec cultures. It is woven in white, black, gray, and ocher (yellow) amd measures approx. 50" wide and 80" long, not including fringe. Rug is in fine to excellent condition, bright colors, with no apparent stains, rips, or tears.
Woven Wool Rug South Dakota probable Sioux
This rug was known to have been gotten in South Dakota and brought out to California in the 1950's. It is very tightly woven in lighter pastel shades, which are typical of the Northern tribes. Although the rug has a fringe which is not typical of Native American weaving, the double bound edges (as seen in the photos) is usually not typical of the Mexican or South American weavers. The rug measures approx 31" wide by 61" long (runner?). Rugs weaving contains various imperfections and their is a soiling spot and some small edge separation (approx 6"). Overall the colors are still real nice, pastel greens, mauve, blue, and gray on a predominant tan background.
Woven Wool Rug Classic 'Thunderbird' Pattern
This rug woven in red, tan, grays, and blue on a black background features the 'Thunderbird" design, is very tightly woven and has fringe on either end (with a few missing). The rug was purchased sometime in the 1960-70's, but could be older. The rugs colors are still vibrant and it measures approx 35" wide by 68" long.
Hand Loomed Woven Wool Navajo Rug
This rug had been in the family since it was gotten on Vacation in the American Southwest back in the late 50's. It is a classic Navajo weaving still with nice colors, in green, red, tan, white, medium blue background and black ends. There are no rips, tears, or holes of note and it measures approx 28" wide (irregular) and 61" long. This rug has been stored wrapped away in cotton towels and bagged for the last 30+ years.
