1970's Springfield Hanging Barometer and Temperature Gauge
Here is a classic wall 'weather station' of the 1970-80's. The piece is made of walnut wood and brass plated metal and has 3 different stations to help you figure out the current weather conditions. the bottom one measures the humidity, the middle gives you the barometric pressure, and the top is the temperature gauge. Not sure of workability. It was manufactured by the Springfield Instrument Co. of Hackensack, NJ 07602.
Elsie the Cow Ceramic Cookie Jar 1950-60s
This cow admiring the butterfly on its tail cookie jar, is very reminiscent of the Elsie the Cow of the Borden Company. Their are no marks as to a manufacturer. The head removes so that you can get your hand into those delicious cookies that we all know Mom bakes! There don't appear to be any chips or cracks of any kind, as photos will show. The jar measures approx. 11" long from tail to front, is 6 1/2" wide at the girth, and with the head/lid on measures about 10" to the top of the horns. Don't miss out on this rare find!
Sawyer's View-Master 3-D Pictures
You will get a 1930's Sawyer's (Portland, Oregon) View-Master that lets you see third dimension pictures in full color Kodachrome. Included with it are 21 reels, most with their original covers, the original box (a bit beat up) is also included with the viewer (made of bakelite) and place to hold reels. This is one of the earliest versions of the View Master that you can find. There are reels on Early Los Angeles. The Golden Gate International Exposition, Santa Barbara, CA , Water Falls along the Columbia Hwy., Cyprus Gardens, Death Valley, Palm Springs, Hollywood, Hawaiian National Park, and many more (21 total). The viewer kinda works with some coaxing, and is still fun to look at with the reels.
Three Salt Water Poles with Reels
This lot to include three used fishing poles each with an attached reel. All three are in very used and varying degrees of condition; from untested reels, poles needing restringing, an eye missing, etc. Would probably need some tender loving care to get catching those big blue tuna again, but they still have some life in them. Some great vintage pieces for the active hobbyist. The longest pole (with the wooded base - great surf pole) measures approx.9 1/2 ft in length., the gray pole (looks to be fiberglass) measures about 73" tall, and the yellow pole (with the heavy duty deep sea eyes) measures about 66" long. Reels are a Shakespeare 'Tiger', Point Professional 910, and a Point Ace 400.
