Edison Home Model Cylinder Phonograph, 1904-1909

Featured in this lot is a Rare Edison Phonograph, Home version, Model K Reproducer, circa 1904-1909, in original Edison banner golden oak hardwood case. Serial number 393...more491D. This model is equipped with 2 and 4 minute switch. Thomas Edison invented the phonograph in 1877, which was developed as a result of Edison's work on two other inventions, the telegraph and the telephone, but it really didn't make its way into American homes for at least twenty years. The removable red Cignet horn has the self-supporting crane balanced by a foot that clips under the back of the case. In general, the historical progression was from conical horns to belled horns to petalled horns. This phonograph is in amazingly well-preserved condition, appears intact ,though it has not been tested for functionality. The Cignet horn disassembles into two parts as does the self-supporting crane. Whole phonograph measures 38.5"H x 20"W x 20"D assembled. Horn has a 18.75" diameter mouth opening. In case, phonograph measures 17"L x 9.5"W x 9.5"D. Total combined weight 31lb 1oz.*

Spanish Mauser Standard Model & M1964 Bayonets

Featured in this lot we have a pair of Spanish military bayonets including the Mauser Standard model and M1964 CETME bayonets with sheaths. The Spanish M1964 bayonet is ...moredesigned for the 8mm Mauser 1944 rifle with the design copied off the German M1884/98 bayonets. The bayonet displays a single edged design with a fuller running along both sides, small steel guard, and wooden grips. The pommel of the piece displays the single rifle attachment point. It comes with a full steel sheath with a canvas belt frog. Next we have a Spanish M1964 bayonet used for 7.62 mm NATO caliber CETME model C selective-fire rifle. The bayonet features a plastic checkered grips with a unfullered bolo blade. The bayonet comes with a plastic and metal sheath with canvas belt point and cord tied to the end. Both bayonets show good condition overall with some wear due to age and use. The bayonets weigh 2lbs 12oz. The first bayonet measures 15 1/4" long with the blade being 10" long blade with the second measuring 13 1/4" long with the blade being 8 3/4" long.

M.T. Knives Rams Horn & Damascus Hammered Knife

This is an original Montana Territory Knives Bozeman, Montana knife showing a Rams Horn grip and forged Damascus trailing point knife. The blade has been forged from 109...more5HC (High Carbon) steel and 15N20 Nickel Carbon, which is then heated and folded into 396 layers, creating the astounding “Damascus” steel. The knife shows a wonderful ladder pattern Damascus. The hollow grind full tang blade has been paired with a set of Rams Horn premium grip scales, which are secured to the piece with two mosaic pins and lanyard loops. The knife also features a set of polished stainless-steel bolsters with a comfortable finger well. The tang has been artfully hand vine filled. The blade is marked with the “MONTANA TERRITORY KNIVES BOZEMAN MONTANA” stamping, which shows the outline of Montana. The knife has been paired with a leather, hand crafted sheath. The knife measures 9" long overall, with the blade being 4 1/4" long. The sheath and knife together measure 9 3/4" long.

Spanish M1913 Artilleria Mauser Rifle Bayonet

Featured in this lot we have a Spanish M1913 Mauser Rifle bayonet. The bayonet was designed to fit the 7mm M1916 Mauser short rifle as well as the 8mm Mauser M1943 short ...morerifle. The bayonet displays a long single edge blade, guard with barrel loop, wood grips, and steel pommel attachment point. The blade is marked near the guard reading "Artilleria FCA Nacional Toledo" with a crown and crossed cannons armory mark. The right side of the blade is marked with a serial number. The wooden grips displays checkered designs with two screw pins. The bayonet shows good condition overall with some wear due to age and use. The blade measures 15 1/2" long with the bayonet measuring 20 1/2" long.

1923 Elephant Armour Bronze Cigar Ashtray

Featured in this lot is this bronze elephant cigar ashtray made by Armour Bronze in New York circa 1923. Armor Bronze, formerly The National Metalizing Company, began in ...more1910 in New York and New Jersey. Changing the name to Armor bronze about 1920, they produced art objects, statuary, and lamps using a polychrome coloring process with its roots in ancient Egyptian and Chinese methods. They sometimes employed hand-etched sgraffito on their pieces. The company changed location in the 1930's to Massachusetts. It stopped producing in the late 1940s. The ashtray shows a bronze elephant standing on a beige colored ball overlooking the tray. Around the rim of the tray are three slots for holding cigars. The bottom features an Armour Bronze sticker, while the back of the sculpture is marked reading, "Armour Bronze Corp. / ©1923". The piece shows good condition overall with some slight wear present and paint chipping on the ball. No signs of obvious damage is present. The ashtray measures 10 1/2" L x 8 5/8" W x 10 1/2" H and weighs 9 pounds and 8 ounces.

Yellowstone National Park Horse Pannier 1916

Featured in this lot is a Vintage Yellowstone National Park Horse Pannier, circa 1916. For the decade after 1872 when Yellowstone National Park was established, the park ...morewas under serious threat from those who would exploit, rather than protect, its resources; poachers, souvenir hunters, developers. Civilian superintendents were hired to preserve and protect this land from 1872 through 1886 but they weren't enough. Under the Sundry Civil Act of 1883, the US Army Cavalry from Fort Custer, Montana Territory was sent into Yellowstone Park. Along with housing, stables were built. At the height of the Army's presence in Yellowstone, there were 324 soldiers stationed there. By 1916, the National Park Service was established and the US Army moved out. The pannier were used by Yellowstone National Park Rangers and set on horses to carry supplies and other needs throughout the park. The pannier shows a mostly metal and wood construction. The buckles and straps are made of canvas and metal components. A wood boads are set on the bottom of the pannier and is reinforced with metal. The bottom is designed with a cotter pin fastener to open when needed as a cleanout. The letters "NPS" (National Park Service) and "CORRALS"are painted on the front face, the number 5 is painted on each side face. This heavy duty aluminum pannier is in amazingly preserved condition for its age. The aluminum faces exhibit scratches and dents as might be expected from regular use, a leather strap on the bottom is torn from age, oxidation exhibited on iron metal buckles, intact canvas straps exhibit fraying. A wonderful piece of early Yellowstone National Park history. Measures 12.75"W x 24"L x 15.25"D, weight 20lb, 12oz.

19th Century MT Wooden Tombstone/ Grace Marker

The tombstone or grace marker is wonderfully and professionally crafted with a s...moreingle plank of wood, that is extremely porous due to age and weather with the bottom rotten from being in the ground. These markers would have been used to mark the grave sight of a fellow comrade or family member and a plaque with their name and death date inscribed and nailed to it; although sometimes these markers were left unnamed and were considered a sign of disrespect or desperation to move on. A headstone, tombstone, grace marker, or gravestone is a stele or marker, usually stone, that is placed over a grave. It is traditional for burials in the Christian, Jewish, and Muslim religions, among others. The condition of this wooden tombstone or grace marker is preserved with serious weathering to the plank along with gashes to the wood face of the marker but otherwise shows a preserved condition. The measurements of this tombstone or grace marker is 37 7/8" x 15" x 1 1/2". The collective weight of this tombstone or grace marker is 14lb 10oz.

The dresser decoration is shows floral design with a carved crown and accents with ornate drawer handles. The Aesthetic Movement maintained that art should not be confined to painting, sculpture, and architecture, but should be a part of everyday life. To this end, Aestheticism embraced not only the "high" arts, but also ceramics, metalwork, fashion, furniture-making, and interior design. The condition of this Eastlake dresser is good with some wear due to age and some scratching to the marble but otherwise shows good overall condition. The measurements of this dresser is 93" x 40 1/2" x 20".

Presented in this lot are Two (2) Puebloan Silver Bolo Ties, circa mid 1900s. The bolo tie is a classic western accessory, recognizable for its two decorative ends connec...moreted by a thin cord. It was created in the 1930s by Native American tribal silversmiths in Arizona and New Mexico. Both have braided black leather cords. The first bolo features a Gambel's Quail with inlaid stones of Mother of Pearl, Turquoise, shell, and branch coral, standing in silver "brush" as is common in the southwestern United States, mainly Arizona. The black braided cord bolo tips are finished with silver balls. The second bolo features a bezel set large Stormy Mountain Turquoise cabochon, the adjoining feathers design also surrounded by silver balls. Bolo tips have hollow silver beads. First bolo measures 18.5"L, second 19.25"L.

Glaser, publisher Double...moreday & Company, Inc., Garden City, New York. Introduction by Will Rogers and biographical note by his wife, Nancy Russell. Here is the classic Charles M. Russell book for all collectors. "Good Medicine" is the inspiring chronicle of an old-time cow wrangler revealed in a unique collection of his illustrated letters. It is filled with letters and drawings to friends, and little stories. A print of the painting, "When I Was A Kid" is on the opposite page of the title page. This rare book is a must have for Charlie Russell and Western art fans. From a municipal library collection, this blue green cloth bound hardcover is in nice condition, very slight scuffing exhibited to cover edges. Intact pages exhibit age tanning and foxing, no other obvious damages noted. Measurements are 12.25"L x 9.25"W x .5"D, and the weight is 2lb.

"Life of General Sherman" James P. Boyd

Featured in this lot is an 1892 edition of "Life of General Sherman" by James P. Boyd. This book is by the same author of "Military and Civil Life of U.S. Grant" and "Li...morefe of Sheridan". A stirring biography of the larger than life general and statesman. William Tecumseh Sherman (1820-1891) was an American soldier, businessman, educator, and author. He served as a general in the Union Army during the American Civil War, achieving recognition for his command of military strategy as well as criticism for the harshness of the scorched-earth policies that he implemented against the Confederate States. He steadfastly refused to be drawn into party politics and in 1875 published his memoirs which became one of the best-known first-hand accounts of the Civil War. This red cloth stamped illustrated hardcover is in fair condition, scuffing to edges, gilt fading. Intact pages exhibit age tanning and foxing throughout. Measures 7.75"L x 5.5"W x 1.5"D.*

Navajo Crystal Eye Dazzler Rug c. 1950's

Featured in this lot is this Navajo Crystal Eye Dazzler rug circa 1950's. The rug features a wonderfully and professionally crafted wool construction that shows black ban...mored ends with a off white field that shows eye dazzler decoration with stepped segments of red, black, and grey coloration. The regional pattern Crystal starts in the mid 1930’s. The pattern is borderless with horizontal bands of geometric designs. The bands are separated by “wavy lines”. This is created by alternating and crossing the color of each weft. The colors are of natural wool with vegetal dyed colors. The contemporary Crystals are drastically different from the old J.B. MOORE crystals, which made the area famous in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. The condition of this Navajo rug shows a preserved nature that shows some wear to the weft of this rug and some minor disturbances to the weave but otherwise shows a preserved condition. The measurements of this rug is 46" x 30". The thread count is 96 threads per square inch.

Featured in this lot is this Hubley Manufacturing Company cast iron two seat, two horse carriage circa 1910-30s. The Hubley Manufacturing Company was an American producer...more of a wide range of cast-iron toys, door stops, and bookends. The first Hubley toys appeared in 1909 and were made of cast-iron, with themes that ranged from horse-drawn vehicles and different breeds of dogs, to tractors, steam shovels and guns. This is a very rare toy depicting a man driving a woman. Both the riders and the seats detach from the carriage as well as the chassis and rear spoked wheels from the yoke. The piece still has its original paint showing colors of red, blue, white, black, yellow, brown and grey but has been worn and chipped away throughout the years. Two wheels are housed under the horses to aid in the toys ability to roll over surfaces. Overall the toy is in good condition showing wear from its age and use over the years with flaking and missing paint and slight oxidization in some areas. No major damage present. The piece measures 15 3/8" L x 3 5/8" W x 5 1/4" H and weighs 4 pounds and 14 ounces.

Western Saddlery & Scabbards Leather Collection

Featured in this lot is this western saddlery and scabbards leather collection circa early 1900's. There are two scabbards, one pair of saddle bags, one hat band, and one...more tie down strap in this collection. The scabbards show open end leather scabbard and a canvas open ended scabbard. The saddle bags shows a buck stitched together construction with leather flaps and brass buckles with one of the flaps missing. The hat band is missing some stones in the arrangements with brass tacks decorating the leather hatband. The tie down is decorated with brass conchos decoration with hearts embossed on the conchos and brass clips. The collection of this collection of leather products is preserved with some wear tot eh leather and some cuts and wear do to age but otherwise shows preserved condition. The measurements of this collection of leather products range from 8 1/4" x 8 1/2" to 36" x 6 1/2". The collective weight of this collection of leather products is 4lb 6oz.
