Description
To say that the Thain and Uhrich Families were passionate about railroad history would be an understatement.
Rob Thain moved to Colorado in the mid 1960's to go to school at CU when he met Joane Uhrich and they got married. In the 70's they purchased the Rock Island RR station from Simla, CO, and moved it east of Strasburg, CO as the family home. Family businesses included the Uhrich Locomotive Works of Strasburg. Manufacture of live steam park and amusement trains, and full scale railroad restoration and parts; which is still in operation! On the Thain side was Rail Technical Services in Connecticut owned by Bruce Thain. Conducting trolley restoration from the 60's to 2017. Over the last 60 years they amassed one of the best railroad collections we have ever seen. This once in a lifetime collection is so large we are looking at several auctions just to do it the justice it deserves.
Auction #1 is an online auction featuring amazing railroad and New York Subway Collectibles, Porcelain railway signs, Locomotive headlights, Classic cars, O and HO gauge Railroad collection,... Show more
