Rare. 1987 Championship Cardinals Ring.

Lot # 1139 (Sale Order: 140 of 712)

Ring engraved with Giamatti on the side, to the best of my research no samples were ever made and this Giamatti's own ring comes with a letter from his daughter attesting to the authenticity and the fact that it comes in the original Balfour Case.On the top of the ring around the perimeter is “1987 NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONS.” At its center is a large diamond with three red stones in relief along with “ST. LOUID CARDINALS.” On the left shank is “3,072,122” to commemorate the yearlyattendance along with “World Series 75th” and Busch Stadium in relief. With minor stars rings selling up to $4500, this ring given to the commissioner of Baseball is extremely desirable. Great piece of memorabilia from one of the leading non playing figures in baseball history. From the Estate of Bart Giamatti.
