Excellent Tranter M1867 “House Defence” Double Action .297 RF Pocket Revolver by Cogswell & Harrison

S# 35703 | 2.5” Octagonal Barrel | A smaller framed variant was introduced as the “House Defence” Revolver, in small calibers like .230, .297, .320 and .380. | Fire Blued...more finish on small parts, gilt brass frame. Correct 1-piece wood checkered grips. Double action, with 5-shot cylinder. Top flat of the barrel engraved in two lines: "Cogswell & Harrison / Strand, London" Left side of frame with Tranter's Patent two-line cartouche and serial number. Caliber “297” stamped on left side of barrel. Birmingham commercial proof marks on barrel and cylinder. |||| Condition: Excellent. For this age of this revolver, it remains incredible. Beautiful brass receiver with patina on the surface. 98% high gloss blue barrel with edge wear. 90-98% Fire blue small parts such as hammer, trigger, cylinder pin and catch, load gate, and some screws that have much lighter finish. Trigger guard shows some wear with around 60% blue finish. Cylinder has a worn finish. Wood checkered grips are excellent with the right amount of age wear. Mechanically functions smoothly. Bore is very good with no signs of pitting.

Rare Antique 1809 Dated M1795 Harpers Ferry Flintlock .69 Caliber Musket

.69 caliber | 44.25" Smoothbore Round Barrel | 59” Overall length | The Model 1795 was the first musket to be produced in the United States. It was designed by Eli Whitne...morey and based heavily on the French Charleville Model 1763/66 musket. The Model 1795 was used in the War of 1812, where its slightly longer range and slightly better accuracy gave the American forces an advantage against British forces. 7,348 muskets were made at Harpers Ferry in 1809, but few survive in complete condition |||| Condition: Excellent/Restored. Iron is cleaned and is overall grey and bright, smooth, with very crisp and clear stamps. Receiver shows around 30% finish with nice crisp markings. Soldered flintlock tray. Wood stock is nice and smooth, sanded, and refinished with some repaired light cracks. All sling rings, barrel bands, and ram rod are present. Mechanically functions with both half and full cock. Smoothbore barrel. What a rare and nice piece of history still intact and ready to be displayed!

Features a one-piece American walnut oil finished stock, birght steel finish, military style sights, steel buttplate, trigger guard and barrel bands and a swelled ramrod like the original. Beautiful 99...more% CCH finish on trapdoor, receiver tang, and internal parts. 85% blue finish on face plate. 98% blue finish on trigger guard with light edge wear. Barrel shows around 90% finish. Excellent and crisp untouched cartouche inspector’s stamp and date. Leather sling is nice and pliable in very good condition with nice patina. Mechanically functions. Bore is excellent. If you’re only looking for one of these for your collection, this would be it!

S# 82136, mfg. 1882 | Shipped - Jan 14 1892, Received-Jan 18 1892 as per musuem records from Cody Wy. | 24.25” Octagonal Barrel with full length magazine tube. Sliding do...moreor compartment on buttplate | Condition: Very Good. 90-95% darkened patina finish with some light edge wear. Wood stock is nice and solid with no cracks. Forend is solid with chipped rim left side. Hairline crack on left side at the front of forend. Lever swivel works and holds good. Sliding door on top works well. Sliding compartment door on butt works well. Seems to Mechanically function. Bore is average with visible rifling and some light pitting. When you have the chance to snag the rifle that won the west, you take it… especially an early 2nd model!
