1944 Japanese Nambu Type 14 Bringback War Trophy Pistol with Rare lanyard

Lot # 222 (Sale Order: 239 of 375)

S# 31525, mfg. April 1944 at the Toriimatsu branch of Nagoya Arsenal - 2nd Series | This pistol was brought back by a local soldier out of Hendersonville, NC - Sgt. R.E. ...moreMcBride after being removed from dead Japanese officer during the Saipan operations (refer to tag that was with pistol) - a copy of the original picture of the veteran from March 30 1946 is included along with his obituary | Comes with 1 non-matching magazine, and an original rare lanyard (hard to find and very expensive) | This is an extremely interesting piece that appears to have possibly been shot. WWII Vet Bringback Type 98 Japanese Army Officer Gunto Sword & Named Meatball Flag

Lot # 222a (Sale Order: 240 of 375)

The Blue/Brown Sword knot was assigned to company grade officers (Lieutenants and Captains) in the war || Appears to have an Ancient Koto blade meaning "old sword" from y...moreears 900-1596 and they were passed down several generations (600+ Years) to be fitted into this Katana, making it very unique & very old blade with a very defined Hamon || This blade is still extremely sharp and pitted with the blood of its last victim || Matching S# on all Grip Parts #86 |||| What makes this sword unique is that it was found impailed through its last victim in a tree, pulled out, and then returned to its scabbard without cleaning the blade which gave it the blood pitting on the end. This sword was brought back by a local soldier out of Hendersonville, NC from the Saipan Battle in Iro Jima per consignor - with a paper copy of the original picture of the veteran from March 30 1946 you can see him in the picture holding the sword, a gun (Lot222b), and there’s the flag in the picture also.
