1) LUFTWAFFE OFFICER. This officer’s peaked cap has a gray wool crown with a black mohair band. The hat is piped in silver bullion and has a bullion winged wreath & cocka...morede at the front of the band. The peak has a metal Luftwaffe eagle with a broken pin on one side. Silver bullion chinstrap terminated by silvered pebble finish buttons. Black visor with a green underside. Tan sweatband and steel gray interior liner. The sweat shield is missing. The sweat shield has been removed. There is a small elastic chinstrap attached. CONDITION: this hat shows little wear or moth damage. WWII STYLE GERMAN SS CAMOUFLAGE SMOCK.

Lot # 1217 (Sale Order: 220 of 508)

This is an exceptionally rare and seldom encountered style camouflage smock, as used by German SS troops. There has been significant debate over the originality of this s...moremock. We have concluded that this smock is likely a post-war reproduction. It is a 2nd model smock with a plain tree camo pattern. Smock has a drawstring front with 5 sewn eyelets on either side. It has an elastic waist with 2 front flap pockets. There are 3 sets of 3 sewn straps on either side of the shoulders to facilitate further camouflage. There is also a set of 3 sewn straps in the center back just below the neck. The smock is reversible from green-based camouflage to brown-based camouflage. The interiors of the front pockets are missing and the drawstring appears to be a replacement. Otherwise, this is an exceptional post-war example of a WWII style German SS camouflage smock. We encourage interested parties to examine the smock in person and make their own determination as to the originality of this piece. CONDITION: smock generally shows light wear overall, except as noted above. (02-20961/BF). $300-500.

There is a large NSDAP eagle at the top with the words “Heir Spric...moreht die NSDAP”, which translates to “Here Speaks the National Socialist German Worker’s Party”. The following section of the sign reads “Volksgenossen! Braucht Ihr Rat und Hilfe so wendet Euch an die NSDAP”, which translates to “Fellow Nationals, do you need advice and help So contact the NSDAP”. The rest of the board gives details on how to contact various departments within the NSDAP, and there is a large section for writing notices or repsonses. CONDITION: as expected, the sign shows wear throughout. There are chips to the enameling, primarily at the edges, but the sign remains quite clear & easily readable. There is a small hole at each corner for mounting the sign. (02-19823/BF). $200-400.
