Left side of frame bea...morers a (what appears to be) a crowned encircled lion proof. All numbers are matching and include the frame, slide, and barrel. MAGS: 1 8-round magazine. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Period brown leather holster stamped with a Czech Rampant Lion proof on the flap. CONDITION: Very good overall, with metal components retaining the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting mild edge wear and some light spots of wear that show through to silvering. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Grips exhibit some scattered marks from handling and storage, but are otherwise fine. Nicknamed "Knee mortar" due to American servicemen thinking the curved baseplate allowed firing from thigh. Firing in this manner would result in serious injury. This example has been demilled w/ a large hole drilled in the tube, an added bar in center of tube & a large welded on bottom of tube. Cal. 4 Ga. S# F124483. Bbl. 6 1/2". The entire pistol has a flat black finish, and the grips are dark brown bakelite. The top of the barrels is marked "4" in a circle wit...moreh a waffenamt beneath. The left side of the pistol is marked "F124483" above the release lever, and the frame is stamped "F S" & "1944 fzs" with one more waffenamt. The right side of the barrel is marked "6902" above the release lever. There is a selector switch at the rear of the pistol marked "L" on the left and "R" on the right with another waffenamt. There is a selector switch on the left side that functions as a safety. CONDITION: pistol has most of the original finish remaining with a 1" scratch on the left side. Pistol appears to function quite well and all switches work perfectly. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox. (02-18293/BF). $500-750.

The left side of the pistol is marked "FL24483" above the release lever, and the frame is stamped "F S" & "1941 fzs" with two more waffenamt. The right side of the barrel is marked "6025" above the release lever. There is a selector switch at the rear of the pistol marked "L" on the left and "R" on the right with a manufacturing mark and another waffenamt. There is a selector switch on the left side that functions as a safety. CONDITION: pistol has most of the original finish remaining with some speckled finish loss likely from use. This flare pistol has nearly a 1 1/2" bore with a blued finish and 2-piece serrated wood grips. The pistol is marked on one side to the Tokyo Arsenal with 3 other Japanes...moree characters along with the number "27". The other side is simply marked with the trilobate Tokyo Arsenal mark and the number "27". There is a lanyard ring at the butt of the grip. The brown leather holster is complete with the screwdriver tool in its custom pouch. CONDITION: blued finish is better than 97%. Grips are undamaged. Mechanics function well.
