Left side of barrel bears 2 British proofs, with several additional British proofs stamped on the stock at and around the wrist, as well as in the ramrod channel. Full length smooth walnut stock featuring a brass pommel, trigger guard, sideplate, and ramrod ferrule. Ramrod is not present. CONDITION: lockplate has been mostly cleaned and polished at one time, exhibiting some pitting and a few areas of patina. Barrel exhibits a gray patina, with dark spots of discoloration and some mild pitting overall. Brass furniture, exhibits a pleasing mellow patina. Stock shows a few scattered marks from handling and storage, but is otherwise very good overall. (01-23931/MLW). ANTIQUE. $600-900.

(1807-1818) gunmaker & SC on 26 Goulston Square (1819-1830) & at 123 Leadenhell Street (1826-1836). Tapered rnd. 9" bbls. w/ starburst motif & engraved on top flat "LONDON". Bbl. breeches have traces of German silver band. Breech & lock have highlights of scroll engraving. Wedge fastened walnut stocks w/ checkered grips, pineapple finial trigger guards & hardwood ramrod w/ brass tips. CONDITION: pistols have a pleasing patina throughout w/ light pitting; engraving still mostly visible. Stocks are mostly intact showing large areas of varnish along w/ wear spots, worn checkering, sm. cracks & notable large gouges along side numerous light marks. Dark bores shows light oxidation. Frame is in-the-white. Faceted barrel has been reblued at one time. Frame is mounted with 2 piece checkered wood grips. Dovetailed blade front sight with dovetailed V-notch rear sight. CONDITION: Frame exhibits a gray patina, with some darker spots of mild pitting overall. Barrel is very good as refinished, retaining the majority of its reapplied blue finish that has softened the address and proof mark. Grips are very good overall.
