This lot consists of the following handguns: 1) ALLEN & THURBER MEDIUM PEPPERBOX PISTOL. Cal. 31. NSN. Bbl. 3 1/4" six bbl. cluster. Worcester made pepperbox. Action is v...moreery sluggish & function does not always work properly when hand cycled. Frame has floral engraving. Smooth hardwood grips w/ silver disc & screw that appears to be a later replacement. CONDITION: grips appear sanded w/ a poor fit, overall roughness, scattered chips & dings. Metal is a gray patina w/ overall oxidation, some dings & scattered pitting. Pitted & oxidized bores. (01-25410/MJC). 2) WHITNEYVILLE NO1 SA REVOLVER. Cal. 22 S. S# 12826. Bbl. 3 1/4" oct. Round blade front sight. Fixed rear sight. Brass frame. Cyl. rod is a crude modern plastic replacement & action is not cocking when hand cycled. Smooth hardwood grips. CONDITION: grips show some flaking, dings, scratches & handling wear. Brass parts are a dull yellow patina w/ scattered oxidation. Other metal parts are turning gray w/ scattered oxidation. SN 2221 Cal. 41. Standard brass frame configuration of the 5th variation of Moore derringers, 2.5" blued ovoid barrel marked on top "MOORE'S PAT. F. A. CO. BROOKLYN, NY" ...moreand "D. MOORE'S PAT. FEB. 24, 1863" on bottom, half round German silver front sight, engraved arrow and star on either side of barrel and about 25% coverage arabesque scroll engraving. Doug Eberhart in his most recent text on Moore, National, and Colt derringers states that this blue and silver combination is only seen on 10-15% of survivors. CONDITION: barrel retains tiny trace of blue finish, balance gray/brown patina, frame retains about 20% of its silver plate. Mechanically fine, good rifled bore. (01-25300/JS). ANTIQUE. $600-800.

Cal 41. SN #230. About 600 1st model derringers were made by Colt in first year production 1867 and this was among the first. Standard configuration, all metal frame, 2.2...more5" teardrop shaped barrel with flattened top with 2-line Hartford address terminating on either end with a Maltese cross and "NO 1". Nickel finish with minimal foliate engraving, knurled oval panels to sides and back of integral grip. CONDITION: very good, retains most all of its original nickel on barrel, frame is gray metal with pinprick pitting. Mechanically fine, good rifled bore. Cal. 22 RF. S# 11094. Bbl. 2 1/2". Four-barrel pepperbox derringer pistol, mfg. by C. Sharps & Co. Left side of the frame is marked "C. SHARPS" above patent information, ...morewith "C. CHARPS & Co." above a mostly indiscernible "PHILADA. PA" marked on the right. Brass frame exhibits a silver-plated finish, with the steel bbl. cluster exhibiting a high-polish blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece smooth wood grips. Brass bead front sight with frame-notched rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the butt of the frame, underside of the bbl. cluster, as well as on the left side of the trigger. CONDITION: frame retains large amounts of its period-applied nickel-plated finish, exhibiting areas of wear and flaking overall that show through to exposed brass, which retains a mellow patina. Bbl. retains the majority of its blue finish, exhibiting mild wear, scattered superficial handling marks, as well as some spots of light to mild pitting and oxidation. Very bright bores, exhibiting some scattered spots of dark pitting. Grips exhibit some scattered marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (01-25441/MLW). ANTIQUE. $200-400.

Brass frame with blued steel bbl. block. Frame is mounted with 2-piece smooth wood grips. Each bbl. is fitted with a German silver half-moon blade front sight. Matching S# "1088" is present on the frame as well as on the interior of the right grip panel. Assembly # "C74" is present on the front face of the frame, bbl. swivel pin, as well as on the rear face of the bbl. block. CONDITION: brass frame exhibits a pleasing mellow patina, exhibiting scattered spots of dark age-related discoloration. Bbl. block retains large amounts of its lustrous blue finish, exhibiting wear, thinning, and scattered spots of mild oxidation overall. Very bright .32 cal. bore, exhibiting some light to mild surface oxidation and pitting while retaining strong rifling throughout. Fair .22 cal. bore, exhibiting pitting and oxidation throughout. Grips exhibit light superficial marks from handling and storage but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (01-25442/MLW). ANTIQUE. $400-600.

Frame exhibits a case color-hardened finish, with the bbl. exhibiting a lustrous blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered gutta percha grips. German silver blade front sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame and are handwritten on the interior of the grip panels. CONDITION: frame retains traces of its original factory case color hardened finish, with the balance exhibiting a gray patina with some scattered spots of pitting as well as light surface oxidation overall. Bbl. retains large amounts of its original factory blue finish, exhibiting some light to mild wear, with surface oxidation and some pitting present overall. Right side of bbl. exhibits several superficial dings. Bore is bright, exhibiting areas of dark pitting and strong rifling throughout.
