PARKER PH SHOTGUN NICELY RESTORED BY DEL GREGO.

Lot # 2151 (Sale Order: 151 of 777)

Cal. 12 Ga. 2-5/8". S# 115456. The 28-13/16" barrels are marked with the Parker address and "TWIST" on the matted top rib. All correct marks are on barrel flats, includin...moreg the Remington repair date code "KD" (May 1935 or 1957?). The case-hardened #2 frame with correct makings on the watertable is fitted with non-automatic safety and double triggers. Action is engraved in "P" style with small sprays of scroll within geometric borders. The maker's name is on each side. Parker-capped pistol grip buttstock of plain American walnut measures 14-1/4" over Parker's head buttplate with spur. Standard checkering is at grip, and a German silver shield is on the toeline. The matching splinter end has a patent date on the latch. MEASUREMENTS: Bbls: bore diameter: L .731; R .731. Restriction: L .010 (IC); R .022 (Mod). Wall thickness: L .026; R .022. STOCK: DAH: 3-1/16". DAC: 1-15/16". CAST: neutral. LOP: 14-1/4". WEIGHT: 7 lb. 5 oz. CONDITION: very fine as restored to original factory finishes. Barrels retain over 90% of what certainly appears to be their factory-applied twist finish. Action retains nearly all of the case hardening, the consignor states by Del Grego. Stocks retain nearly all of a light-colored oil refinish (edges are somewhat rounded). Checkering re-cut. Shiny bores show raised dents mostly in the left barrel, 15" behind the muzzle. Action is tight. The Parker ledger indicates that this gun was originally made with 30" barrels. Is the presence of a choke in these barrels an indication of factory work? Rib matting ends correctly at 1/8" behind the muzzle. (23-5432/MGM). CURIO. $2,000-3,000.

EARLY LEFEVER E GRADE AUTOMATIC HAMMERLESS GUN.

Lot # 2152 (Sale Order: 152 of 777)

Cal. 12 Ga. 2-5/8". S# 11566. This early Lefever gun incorporates nearly all of Uncle Dan's adjustments for taking out wear throughout the life of the gun. These early gu...morens had split lumps with a screw to spread the lump to take out side to side wear. The locking bolt on the Wesley Richards type top lever has a compensating screw to push the bolt into a lower position. These features are coupled with the adjustable forend latch and normal ball and socket hinge. Many of these components were made obsolete by the later "self-compensating" action. This mid grade gun has 30" fine damascus barrels with broad matted concave rib. Bottom of left barrel is stamped with grade and S#. Semi-side lock action features automatic safety, shouldered dolls head rib extension with locking bite, bushed strikers, cocking indicators, screw adjustable trigger pulls and double triggers. Action is engraved in early "E" style with sprays of scroll and line borders with geometric accents. Last patent date stamped on trigger plate is "87". S# is on trigger guard tang which extends to fluted hard rubber grip cap. Pistol grip buttstock of lightly streaked European walnut measures 14-1/8" over Lefever logo hard rubber buttplate. Point pattern checkering is at grip. Early style splinter forend with push button release has iron fitted with early type extractor cam and slots for early dual push rod cocking system. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: L .749. R .749. Restriction: L .030 (full). R .030 (full). Wall thickness: L .040. R .035. STOCK: DAH: 2-3/4". DAC: 1-9/16". CAST: neutral. LOP: 14-1/8". WEIGHT: 7 lb. 13 oz. CONDITION: good. Barrels retaining a black and gray finish that approximates original type and has good definition to pattern. Action has traces of original case color where protected but in mostly a mottled silver gray. Stocks retain most of what appears to be their original oil finish with a good number of marks and scratches. Checkering shows wear. Forend wood shows some repairs. Bores are fairly shiny with scattered light pitting throughout. Action is tight. Mechanically good. A good example of this relatively scarce and innovative gun. (01-25725MGM). ANTIQUE. $900-1,500.

Semi-sidelock case hardened action with self-compensating locking system features automatic safety, bushed strikers, cocking indicators and double triggers. Cocking system is of the transitional opposed hook type while extractor is of early type with cam in forend iron. Action is engraved with line borders on lockplates which are also marked "LEFEVER ARMS CO". Last patent date on trigger plate is "87". EARLY & RARE FN BROWNING OLYMPIAN BOLT ACTION

Lot # 2167 (Sale Order: 168 of 777)

RIFLE ENGRAVED BY MAGIS, RISAK & RICHELLE. Cal. 243 Win. S# 2P15079 (1962). This fine Olympian grade rifle has 22" lightweight barrel with all correct markings which is n...moreot fitted for iron sights. Coin finished small ring FN action has bolt with long extractor and hinged floorplate with release in trigger guard bow. Action is engraved in usual Olympian style with a background of well cut shaded acanthus scroll surrounding game scenes. A running pronghorn is on left side of receiver ring and a feeding mule deer is on right. Floorplate is engraved with a mountain lion perched in bare tree branches and the head of a mountain goat is on trigger guard bow. Pronghorn scene is signed "M. Magis", lion "R. Risak" and trigger guard "DR" (Denise Richelle). Rosewood capped pistol grip stock with Monte Carlo comb made of a very fine piece of crotch figured Claro walnut measures 13-7/8" over Browning buttplate and features swept righthand cheekpiece, rosewood forend tip, white line spacers, sling studs, recoil bolt and gold rectangle in pistol grip cap. Closely spaced checkering at grip and forend has fancy border and is flanked by relief carved acanthus scroll in stippled background as usually found on Olympian grade rifles. CONDITION: exceptionally fine. Action and barrel retain nearly all original factory finishes with only a very few minor marks and some discoloration from congealed oil. There is a scattering of marks in original finish of stock and checkering has slightly darkened. It appears that this non-salt era rifle has had butt section of stock under water for a time, some lifting of wood grain and varnish is evident and heavy rust is visible on buttplate screws and sling stud. These rusted parts are movable and easily replaced. Three plug screws are missing from top of action. Bore is bright and shiny. Mechanically fine. (24-4157/MGM). CURIO. $5,000-8,000.
