Cal. 50BMG. S# 0219. Bbl. 33.5". The only place that the Barrett Model M82 is larger then the roles it plays on the big screen is surprisingly enough in real life. BROWNING MACHINE GUN 1919 DOUBLE SIZE CLASSROOM

Lot # 1083 (Sale Order: 86 of 853)

TRAINING MODEL WITH AMMO. An enormous military classroom training, cutaway version of the iconic Browning M1919 A6. This classroom model of the Browning machine gun, cal....more 30 is a true to scale, 2X enlarged reproduction of the actual weapon. Partially segmented in order to gain visual access to internal parts which are revealed in their portion of the cycle of operation. The sheer enormity of this display is difficult to fathom from only a written or verbal description and must be seen in person to be appreciated. From the rear pistol grip to the muzzle booster, it measures almost 80" in length. The entire internal fire control group is completely functional in order to assist students in understanding this complex feed system. Double size plastic rds. are fed from a cloth belt, though this particular example has no belt, but enlarged links, for an almost unobstructed view of the symphony of moving parts happening within the receiver. In a complete unit, with a single stroke of the charging handle the belt is pulled into the receiver w/ a rd. extracted from the belt & inserted into the face of the bolt. The bolt closes & the rd. is chambered for firing & the belt advanced to the next position. As the charging handle returns to the rear to start the cycle over the fired round is extracted & ejected from the bottom of the receiver. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 1 linked belt containing 15 functional dummy rds. CONDITION: every present part of this unique mechanism functions exactly like it should. All parts are fluid & every operation seems to be correct outside of the feeding function. There is a missing extractor / ejector. This cataloger has never seen one set up for use w/ links, but rather an enlarged section of cloth belt, so it may be relegated to a static display at this point. Areas that are open in order to view the mechanism are outlined in red paint & are still pronounced. (02-22278/JZ). NON-GUN. $1,200-1,800.

MILITARY M901 TRACKED ARMORED VEHICLE.

Lot # 1090 (Sale Order: 93 of 853)

This majestic armored vehicle was once on display at the Alabama Center of Military History. After its period of utilization expired it was sold w/ a clean bill of sale &...more we have copies all related documentation. The M901 came into service in the United States in 1979, seeing significant use in both the Persian Gulf War and Iraq War. It's design is based on the M113 Armored Personal Carrier chassis and designed to carry a dual M220 TOW Missile Launcher, nicknamed "The Hammerhead" due to the aesthetics of the unique turret. Operated with a crew of 4 (squad leader, gunner, loader, driver) this 12 ton machine measures almost 16’ in length & just under 9’ wide with a height of almost 10’ w/ targeting head stowed. It has a range of 300 miles with a top speed of 38 mph. It is armored with 1.5” on the front and 1.75” on the sides. A primary asset of the M901 is its mobility. Its speed, range and power to weight ratio is equivalent to modern tracked vehicles and it is amphibious without special preparation. It can be transported with a full loadout by the C-130 Hercules, or the C-27 Spartan. Due to its upgraded suspension it can also be air-dropped, or rolled off directly into battle. The speed of the firing system, as well as its land speed, is also an asset. When it takes a firing position, it can raise up, acquire the target and engage within 20 seconds. The launcher must be lowered to reload, but can still accomplish that task, and be back to firing in only 40 seconds. It can also carry a 7.62mm GPMG, usually an M60 or M240, as defense against aircraft and personnel. The ammo loadout capacity is 10 TOW Missiles and 2,000 rounds of 7.62 NATO, not including that already loaded and ready. It is powered by a GM Diesel engine producing between 220 & 275 horsepower and able to maneuver on a 60% gradient & 30% side slope. Each side contains 5 road wheels, an idler and drive sprocket. CONDITION: exterior finish painted green, black and brown camoflauge. Tracks utilize rubber pads between lugs to minimize hard surface damage. Overall condition appears to be very good and runs well according to consigner. (02-19442/JZ). $75,000-85,000.

EXTREMELY RARE SERIAL NUMBER "A" WINCHESTER M1

Lot # 1091 (Sale Order: 94 of 853)

SEMI-AUTO MILITARY CARBINE. Cal. 30 Carbine. S# A. Bbl. 18". This unusual carbine which is marked at the rear of the receiver "WINCHESTER" / "TRADEMARK" / "A" has an acco...morempanying notarized letter from the consigner which states in part: "The carbine, "A" and also a second one marked similarly with a "B" were given to my dad (David Crosby by his supervisor (Merton...?) at the ballistics lab in Winchester's New Haven CT. plant. (circa WW-II) Dad gave the Carbine to me in 1964. It has been in our possession continuously from those war days until today.". This letter is extremely interesting because there were 2 other carbines produced by Winchester and marked "A" and "B" in the Cody Firearms Museum, Cody, Wyoming. These 2 carbines were also referred to by the experimental designations "M1", "E1" and had a different guide rod and gas piston then that used in production guns. These carbines are featured on pages 64-67 in the book, War Baby by Larry L. Ruth and have somewhat different, earlier features. The close-up of the milling marks shown in the book have a notably different pattern of milling marks in the operating handle guide slot as compared to this carbine. This carbine has many features from the early standard production carbines with the exception of the "A" serial # marking. This carbine has a flip type rear sight marked "S" on the right side. Blade front sight with protective ears. The sight base is unmarked. The blued barrel is marked behind the front sight with a flaming bomb over "W.R.A.". The "11-42" date is stamped parallel to the bore. The barrel does not have the "WP" oval proof. Narrow bbl. band w/ vertical clamping screw. Stamped sling swivel. The straight cut slide is unmarked as is the blued flat bolt. The machined trigger housing is marked "W" on the right rear. Push button safety w/out checkering is marked "SW" on the right side. Unmarked serrated magazine catch. Straight cut hammer is marked "W". The hammer is a type C straight M1 hammer as noted on page 29 of the book, The M1 CARBINE III by J. C. Harrison. Unmarked high wood T cut walnut buttstock. Sides of pistol grip have been reduced somewhat in width and right side of the grip has approximately 1/8" transverse screw hole. The recoil plate is unmarked. Buttplate has square checkering. Two rivet bull nosed handguard is unmarked. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: blued steel oiler marked "IW". 1 Unmarked 5 rd. & 4 - 15 rd. marked "BW" plus 1 unmarked 15 rd. Magazines show significant loss of blued finish. Included is a notarized letter from the consignor giving the known history of the carbine. CONDITION: stock set has very good appearing original finish w/ light wear, scattered handling marks plus sm. scattered flecks of white paint.
