Original arsenal reworked M1D Sniper rifle with matching CMP bill of sale, packing list and purchasing instructions. Bill of sale is dated 3/30/99. Rifle is complete with M84 plus scope mt., Flash hider and NOS, leather cheekpiece which is not installed. The scope base has a correctly staked alignment pin. Original scope mt. has "50 click" attachment knob. Hinge pin has the original flat ends. Blued steel scope has nomenclature plate marked "TELESCOPE / M84 / SERIAL NO. 15965." Scope tube has additional no. "7667424" on the right side of the tube between turrets and objective lens. Flip up turret caps are present. Sliding sunshade is present. Scope has correct post and horizontal crosshair reticle. All visible rifle parts are marked "SA". Stamped trigger guard. Walnut stock set. Stock is marked with "P" proof under grip. Stock is drilled at belly for the 2 cheek pad attaching screws. Stock has inconspicuous inletted walnut repair with 4 brass pins on both sides underneath floorplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: flash hider is marked "HIDER, FLASH M2" / "THE HART MFG CO". Unissued tan leather cheek pad with rawhide thong and screws plus matching paperwork as described above. CONDITION: stock set has a dark stained arsenal rework finish with very light wear and scattered small handling marks. Metal retains nearly all of its arsenal rework parkerized finish with only light wear and scattered small spots of missing finish. Scope retains a very large degree of its original blue finish with only very light wear. Optics appear clear and serviceable. Near excellent shiny bore. Rifle has T105E1 aperture rear sight and blade front sight with protective ears. Receiver has electro-penciled "0-66" behind rear sight. All visible parts markings are "SA". Barrel has block ahead of receiver for the reproduction scope mount. The scope is a Hi-Lux 2.5X Wm. Malcolm M82G2 sniper model. This scope is an improvement of the original Lyman model and includes multi-coated lenses and an increase in the adjustments to 80 MOA for both windage and elevation. The reticle is a tapered post and crosshair. Blued steel tube w/ sliding sunshade, is marked "M82G2" "Hi-Lux Optics" and "SN:01739. The attaching screw has the correct 50 clicks. Original M84 telescopic sight w/ untapered vertical post & horizontal crosshair. Scope nomenclature plate on right side attached by 2 screws is marked "TELESCOPE / (M84) / SERIAL NO. 31041." Flip up turret covers are present. Sliding sunshade is present at forward end. Base appears to be correct arsenal installation. Receiver has correct 2 tone annealed finish. Milled trigger guard has "C-46025-1" drawing no. Walnut stock set. Buttstock is marked on left side behind grip w/ boxed "S.A." overhaul mark & marked under grip w/ encircled "P" proof. DESIREABLE US SPRINGFIELD GARAND M-1D SEMI-AUTO

SNIPER RIFLE. Cal.30-06. S# 3867045. Bbl. 24". These rifles were developed by John C. Garand in 1943-44 to provide a better scope mounting system than the M-1C sniper rif...moreles which would prevent a loss of zero when the telescopic sight was removed and replaced. The M-1D came into its own during the Korean war with a total of app. 21,000 produced at Springfield Armory and an unknown number also produced at other arsenals and base depots. These rifles were mostly equipped with M-84 scopes as in this example. The receiver is marked on the right front leg with "T E 6-69" indicating an overhaul at Toole Army Depot in June of that year. The barrel marked "SA" has the correct number "D7312555" and the date "3-53". Throat and muzzle gauge 1.0. All visible parts markings are "SA". T105-E1 aperture rear sight. Blade front sight with protective ears. Stamped triggerguard. Rifle fitted with correct base at rear of barrel. Alignment pin staked evenly in four places. Rear handguard made shorter to accommodate the scope base. The scope bracket has a 50 click knob and correct spacing of hinge components. The Allen head screws have 5/64" sockets. M-84 telescopic sight with an untapered post and crosshair reticule. Plate on right side of turret base is marked "TELESCOPE/M84/ SERIAL NO. 38106. Turrets are equipped with hinged covers. Ocular lens has rubber eye piece. Objective lens has sliding steel sun shade. Blued steel tube has number "7667424" on the right forward end. Walnut buttstock is marked only with an encircled "P" and plain "P" proofs. Leather lace on cheek piece marked "MRT 3-59". Vietnam era green web sling. Rear handguard is walnut replacement. Front handguard is hardwood. UNNATTACHED ACCESSORIES; cone type M-2 Flash hider. Cleaning kit in butt. CONDITION: stock set has an arsenal rework finish with very light wear and a good appearance. There is a small area by the left rear of the receiver with a light colored stain. The metal retains nearly all of its arsenal rework gray parkerized finish with very light wear. Markings on receiver enhanced in white. Scope retains a very large degree of original blue finish. Rubber eye piece has 1/4" tear in lower left edge. Optics are clear and serviceable. U.S. SPRINGFIELD NAVY MATCH M1 GARAND SEMI-AUTO

RIFLE. Cal. 7.62 Nato. S# 3662489. Bbl. 24" marked on the right side "7.62 NATO". Muzzle, which has a modified crown gauge, is less than 1.0. T105E1 rear sight with natio...morenal-marked adj. aperture. Windage knob is marked "NM" and "13455". Blade front sight with protective ears is unmarked. The consignor states the rifle was accurized at Ft. Benning by the late Glenn Nelson, who was a very prominent competitive shooter on the Army shooting team. Trained at Rock Island Arsenal, Mr. Nelson worked for the "USAMTU" accurizing M14 rifles for competition, and later did the same type of work on M1 Garands and M1A Rifles for Springfield Armory Inc. The operating rod and bolt are marked "SA". The trigger housing is marked "WRA" as is the hammer. Unmarked milled trigger guard. The gas cyl. is very tight. The stacking swivel has been tightened. Gas cyl. lock is marked "M". Single-slot gas cyl. lock screw is finished in the white. Walnut stock set marked "P" under pistol grip. Stamped "7.62 NATO" on top left ahead of the receiver and stamped "A4" in front of the cheek area. Stock has been bedded with a brown-colored bedding compound. Stock ferrule has been modified for a tight fit. The handguards have been tightened using screws and bedding compound for a very solid feel. Green web sling. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 2 Aggressive Engineering Corp 2 round M1 Garand clips, new in packages. 5 Aggressive Engineering Corp 5-rd., M1 Garand clips, new, in packages. 24 military 8-rd. clips in good condition. CONDITION: Stock set has light wear and scattered handling marks with an arsenal rework type finish. Front handguard has the appearance of an original finish. Bbl. gas cyl. and lock appear to be arsenal rework parkerization. Receiver bolt and operating rod appear to have an original parkerized finish. Operating rod has areas of stoning in order to ensure correct and smooth operation. Very good, shiny bore with sharp lands. This rifle was assembled to replicate the M1C Sniper Rifle using a commercial Lyman 2 1/2-power Alaskan scope and an original military scope mount with a reproduction scope base. The scope has a blued steel tube, tapered post reticle, and "ALL WEATHER" markings on both the windage and elevation mounts. S# 9857 does not have a letter prefix. The scope is also marked "THE LYMAN GUN SIGHT CORP." / "MADE IN U.S.A. MIDDLEFIELD CONN U.S. PATENT NO 2078858" / "ALASKAN." Bolt, milled trigger guard, hammer, and safety marked "SA". The trigger housing is marked "HRA." The operating rod is marked "IHC." Replacement hardwood stock set. Buttstock is marked on the left side over the trigger guard with a boxed defense acceptance mark. Marked under pistol grip with encircled "P" proof. Stock is equipped with lace on a leather cheek pad marked "MRT1 52." Trap buttplate and brown leather Hunter military-style sling. CONDITION: stock set has very light wear and staining, plus tiny scattered handling marks. Metal retains a large degree of a vintage arsenal rework finish with light wear and thinning. The scope has moderate thinning and wear, with spots of light oxidation. Wear and thinning are notable on the ocular end. Optics appear clear and serviceable. Scope mt. and rings have light wear and spots of missing finish. The scope base is in very good condition. The screw attachment to the scope base does not show arsenal-type workmanship. All visible part markings are "SA." #T105E1 aperture rear sight. Blade front sight with protective ears. The receiver is marked in electropencil on the forward right leg as "SA 11-65." This rifle, which retains a large degree of its original finish, had a replacement barrel installed in 1965. It was originally manufactured in the late summer of 1940. Milled trigger guard. Cross-slot gas cyl. lock screw. Walnut stock set. The buttstock is unmarked and appears to be a replacement, but it has an arsenal-quality finish. Brown leather Hunter military-style sling. CONDITION: stock and handguards have a very good original finish with light wear and scattered small handling marks. Metal has most of its original Parkerized finish except for the gas cyl. which has turned an overall gray. Barrel has a later dark Parkerized finish. Very good, shiny bore with sharp lands. T105E1 rear sight. Sight cover is a replacement. Blade front sight with protective ears. Receiver is marked on the flat behind the rear sight, "SA-52". This rebuild mark was utilized on M1C receivers after the five screw holes were plugged. The receivers were then assembled into standard-service rifles. The mark was also used, as in this case, for the rebuilding of normal service rifles. Hi-hump gas cyl. lock. Cross-slot gas cyl. lock screw. Milled trigger guard. Bolt, trigger housing, and hammer are marked "SA". Operating rod is marked "MM" on the top and "RA". Walnut stock set. Buttstock is marked at lower left rear of grip with boxed "SA" and marked underneath grip with encircled "P" proof. Flat-type lower band. Trap buttplate and late-type green web sling. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: grenade launcher M7A1 with circular retaining spring. Canvas muzzle cover dated "1944". Brush-type combination tool. Consignor supplied note in butt states rifle "tightened up" in 1996 by Gunsmith Rich McKinney". Plastic oiler and grease cup. CONDITION: stock set has an arsenal rework finish with light wear and moderate dents and handling marks. Notable dents on the left side of the forend and at the end of the pistol grip.
