Walnut forearm hard rubber capped pistol grip stock with crescent steel buttplate. Stock forearm have the distinctive style "I" factory checkering that identifies the highly collectable semi deluxe rifles. Inside of lower tang is marked w/ assembly number "3322" followed by a circular mark number "47". Top tang channel of stock has matching assembly number "3322". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: letter from Cody Firearms Museum Records Office detailing the following information "SN applied: 6-8-1896. Date In: 7-1-1897. Rifle. Caliber/Gauge: 32/40. Bbl Shape: Oct. SPECIAL ORDER WINCHESTER 1894 NO. 6 ENGRAVED

DELUXE TAKEDOWN LEVER ACTION RIFLE INSCRIBED TO CHICAGO FEDERATION OF LABOR PRESIDENT JOHN FITZPATRICK. Cal. 30 WCF 30-30. S 159800. Bbl. 26" octagon. Lyman no. 4 hunting...more sight w/ filler in rear dovetail no. 21 "Climbin Lyman" receiver sight. Full length takedown mag. Action has no. 6 engraving featuring vignettes of deer on right bighorn sheep on left. Scenes are surrounded by arabesque scroll fancy borders. Complimenting engraving extends to upper lower action areas along w/ bbl. extension breech end of bbl. crescent steel buttplate. Although the letter does not state factory engraved this engraving is undoubtedly period and done in the hand of Ulrich. "WINCHESTER ENGRAVING" by R.L. Wilson states 378 model 1894s in the serial number range 1-353999 were engraved and only 25 featured No. 6 engraving. Rifle features include double set triggers. Forearm hard rubber capped pistol grip stock of XX fancy walnut w/ style "H" factory checkering German silver nameplate in toeline. Left inside of lower tang is marked w/ assembly number "15557" followed by wood grade marking "XX". Back of stock is stamped "94/T/15557". Floorplate of rifle is engraved initials "C.F.L. / Chicago 1902". John Fitzpatrick was an organizer of the Chicago Federation of Labor "CFL". He served as President of the CFL in 1900 again from 1906 until his death in 1946. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: a Cody Firearms Museum letter listing the following information "Type: Rifle. Caliber: 30. Barrel Type: Octagon. Trigger: Set. Takedown. Received in warehouse on December 16 1902. Shipped from warehouse on December 17 1902 Order number 168765". 2 Pages of info including a photo of John Fitzpatrick are also included. CONDITION: action retains 40 original blue fading to gray overall however sides of action in areas of engraving show a greater degree of bluing than bottom carry area and around takedown ring. Mag. tube has 80 lightly faded blue. Bbl. has 60 dull blue showing light pitting edge wear. Wood retains a majority of its original glossy finish with occasional scattered light to moderate handling marks and scratches. Notable losses to finish appear at rear of forend forward portion of wrist and around tangs as one would expect to see from a gun that was used but not abused. Toe of stock has cracks extending from both sides. Sound action triggers. Bore has darkened appearance retaining sound rifling. 23-4785/BS. CURIO. 20000-30000.

Forearm & pistol grip deluxe style replacement stock of XXX fancy black walnut w/ grain very typical of deluxe Winchesters of the period. Features include hard rubber grip cap, crescent steel buttplate & hand checkering done in the factory style H. S# indicates 1907 mfg. "Armax" the journal of the Cody Firearms Museum, vol. VI shows a survey of Winchester 1894 records S# 1-353999. Model 1894 records after that S# were destroyed by a factory fire in the 1960s. The survey of existing records lists only 2 34" model 1894 rifles as being produced. CONDITION: bbl. & mag. tube retain over 95% blue showing edge wear w/ apparent touch up around scattered small marks. Receiver retains over 80% blue showing edge wear w/ areas of fading. Hammer & lever retain over 80% nicely visible case colors. Wood has good finish & checkering. Butt section of stock shows some open grain checks. Bright bore retains strong rifling. (24-2121/DS). Scenes have punch dot background with highlights of oak leaf scroll and wavy borders that continue to upper and lower receiver areas and breech end of barrel. Sides of receiver and lever have gold wire highlights and breech and end of bbl. has gold bands. Lever has a gold inlaid initial "N". Right side of action above loading gate is signed "N. Hartliep / 94". Custom forearm and carbine stock of burl figured fancy black walnut using original steel buttplate. Mfg. 1956. CONDITION: near excellent as upgraded. Walnut forearm and straigh...moret grip stock with crescent steel buttplate. Mfg. 1907. CONDITION: bbl. retains 20 blue showing spots of corrosion. Mag. tube retains 70 lightly faded blue. Action has faded to gray. Stock and forearms have a heavy coat of added varnish over scattered scratches marks. The lightly pitted bore has worn rifling. 23-5413/DS. CURIO. 1200-1800.

MODEL 1894 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 38-55. S 901. Bbl. 26". First year production Model 1894 lever action rifle mfg. by Winchester in 1894. The top of the rnd. bbl. is ma...morerked "-MANUFACTURED BY THE-/ -WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A.-" ahead of the rear sight with the cal. designation "38-55" stamped at the breech. Upper receiver tang is marked "MODEL 1894./ -WINCHESTER-/ PAT.AUG.21.1894.". 3-digit S "901" is marked on the underside of the receiver. Metal components exhibit a blue finish. Plain wood straight grip buttstock with crescent buttplate and smooth wood forend. Aftermarket brass beaded blade front sight with ground down semi-buckhorn V-notch rear sight. Full length mag. tube. CONDITION: metal components retain fair amounts of their original factory blue finish with the balance exhibiting a toned gray patina scattered spots of darker discoloration as well as some spots of light to mild surface oxidation overall. Fair bore exhibiting scattered spots of moderate pitting while retaining fair rifling throughout. Buttstock exhibits scattered handling marks and impressions with 2-chips present along the right side of the upper receiver tang. Forend exhibits a repaired crack that runs the entire length from the receiver to the nosecap and shows heavy wear with several deep gouges. An extremely early example of an iconic Winchester lever action rifle. 01-25119/MLW. ANTIQUE. 1000-2000.

Walnut forearm...more straight grip stock w/ crescent steel buttplate. Mfg. 1895. CONDITION: 20 fading bbl. blue w/ balance of bbl. mag. tube action having faded gray appearance showing areas of cleaning scattered spots of light pitting. Wood shows heavy wear w/ scratches dents handling marks. Stock has cracks on both sides extended from the action. Bore has darkened appearance retains sound rifling. 01-24295/DS. ANTIQUE. 1000-1500.
