Beautiful Model 1900 Commercial Luger manufactured by DWM for domestic and foreign sales, with this variation ...morebeing the first true Luger pistol put into production. The barrel extension is appropriately blank, with the toggle exhibiting the intertwined "DWM" monogram. Major metal components exhibit a rust blued finish, with some smaller components being strawed or nitre blued. Frame is mounted with 2 piece checkered walnut grips. Unmarked safety, with lower safety area polished in-the-white. All numbers are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, grip safety, barrel, barrel extension, breechblock, toggles, as well as the grips. MAGS: 1 8 rnd. CONDITION: extremely fine, with major metal components retaining the vast majority of their original factory rust blue finish overall, exhibiting some spots of mild edge wear, some areas of light thinning, as well as a couple mild superficial marks from handling and storage. Mirror bore, exhibiting some very light pitting throughout. Grips show some smoothing, with some nicks to the diamonds, and an impression on the right grip panel, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable overall. The barrel extension is marked "1915" over the chamber, with DWM arsenal proofs followed by an Imperial German reichsadler on the right side. Reichsadler is also present on the right side of the barrel, as well as on the left side of the breechblock. Toggle bears the intertwined "DWM" monogram. Major metal components exhibit a rust blued finish, with some smaller components being strawed or nitre blued. Frame is mounted with 2 piece checkered wood grips. All numbers are matching (with the exception of the magazine) and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, safety lever & bar, hold-open latch, barrel, front sight, rear sight assembly, barrel extension, trigger bar, breechblock, extractor, firing pin, toggles, as well as the grips. MAGS: 1 8 rnd. CONDITION: major metal components retain the vast majority of their arsenal rust blue finish, exhibiting some areas of mild wear, with some spots of mild surface oxidation, as well as some light pitting on the left side of the muzzle. The receiver is stamped "1917" over the chamber, with crowned DWM arsenal proofs followed by an Imperial German reichsadler on the right, which is also present on the right side of the barrel, as well as on the left side of the breechblock. Major metal components are blued, with some smaller components being strawed or nitre blued. All numbers are matching (with the exception of the magazine) and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, safety lever & bar, hold-open latch, barrel, rear sight assembly, receiver, breechblock, extractor, firing pin, toggles, grips, as well as the original stock flat board stock. MAGS: 1 8 rnd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: aforementioned matching flat board stock with an Imperial Crown/S proof on the left. as well as a 1915 dated brown leather holster appearing to be stamped "Rudolf Wiemer&Co./ Mulheim Koln" and containing an unmarked loading tool and cleaning rod. Metal components exhibit a rust blued finish, with some smaller components exhibiting either strawed or nitre blued finishes. Frame is mounted with 2 piece checkered wood grips. MAGS: 1 7 rnd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: an extremely intriguing World War I holster stamped "SATTLER GEN."/ 1916/ DUSSELDORF" with a partially discenible ink stamp appearing to read "B.A.XI.", followed by period hand writing that appears to be a name above "I.M.G.K.", which would indicate 1st Machine Gun Company. Holster is fitted with a 1941 dated brown leather belt that has been cut and modified at the Third Reich era belt buckle. MAGNIFICENT WALTHER P.38 GOLD ENGRAVED, BOXED WITH

Beautiful, as near new Walther P.38 gold engraved with spare magazine, cleaning rod, matching test target, instruction bo...moreoklet, and original matching box. The pistol is a standard configuration Post-War P.38, left side of slide marked Walther banner and “Carl Walther Waffenfabrik Ulm/Do./ P38 Cal.9mm”. Safety marked with the usual “S/F” detents. Gun was imported by Interarms as reflected by the marking on the right side of the slide and made in West Germany, as marked on the frame. Serial number: 318294 surmounting production year “70” as applied to the left upper trigger guard web. The pistol has been extensively scroll and vine engraved, over the barrel behind the bridge, and over most of the slide and frame. The primary and spare magazine are gold plated and marked with a Walther banner “P.38/ 9mm” on the left side of the magazine wall, each fitted with a crosshatched floorplate. Complimenting this magnificent pistol are a pair of ivory colored grips whose checkering is identical to the standard production pistols. Included are a spare magazine, blued cleaning rod, factory-matching test target, instruction booklet, wood grain cardboard box with a matching end label and “Gold” reference. CONDITION: pistol is virtually new with only the most minute scuffing and a few spots of dried grease on the right grip panel. Spare magazine appears unopened in plastic envelope. Crisp instruction booklet and undated factory target. Top of box with few shelf scuffs and one corner with early separation. A wonderful ensemble, nearly impossible to upgrade. This example, falls within the appropriate serial number range and exhibits the characteristics of a P.38 that was assembled by a U.S.G.I. after the Allied capture of the Walther arsenal. The left side of the frame bears the serial number followed by an Fabrique Nationale Eagle/140 waffenamt, with an FN "MI" inspection proof stamped on the lower trigger web. The left side of the slide bears standard markings, with the right side only bearing a single Walther Eagle/359 waffenamt. Major metal components are blued, with some smaller components including the front sight blade, extractor, firing pin/indicator cover, and slide release lever exhibiting a late war phosphate finish. Frame is mounted with 2 piece grooved brown pressed resin grips. No matching numbers are present, but are all within the "c" serial number block, as is typical with P.38s in this G.I. assembled variation. Locking block is unserialized, bearing only an Eagle/359 waffenamt on the right. MAGS: 2 8 rnd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: G.I. modified brown leather holster dated "1944" on the rear. Closure flap has been cut, exposing the butt of the pistol. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their original arsenal applied blue and phosphate finishes, exhibiting some mild holster wear along the edges, thinning and wear on the grip strap that show through to a pleasant gray patina, as well as some scattered superficial marks from handling and storage. Brilliant mirror bore, exhibiting sharp and well defined rifling throughout. Grips exhibit a few marks from handling and storage, but are otherwise very good overall. Holster shows wear, some areas of creasing, and a few spots of light crazing, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. A very nice and desirable U.S.G.I. Dual-tone finish, with a phosphate finished frame and slide, with a blued barrel. Frame is mounted with 2 piece black grooved polymid grips. All numbers are matching and include the frame, slide, barrel, and locking block. MAGS: 1 8 rnd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brown leather holster stamped with manufacturer code and year of manufacture "hjg/41" on the rear. Documentation includes a Certificate of Retention and Customs Declaration listing this pistol by serial number as having been brought back by 1st Sergeant William F. Schaeffer in his duffle bag on the 17th of September 1945, a letter from William's son detailing some of his father's military career and indicating that his father was 1st Sergeant in Company H of the 275th Infantry Regiment, as well as a copy of William's discharge paperwork. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal phosphate and blue finishes, exhibiting edge wear overall, with a few spots of mild wear overall. Slide exhibits a small area of extremely light pitting on the left side. Mirror bore, exhibiting some very light frosting on the edges of the lands and retaining strong rifling throughout. Grips show some scattered handling marks, but are otherwise sturdy and serviceable. Holster exhibits age related cracking and and areas of crazing overall, but remains sturdy and serviceable. Closure flap strap is torn and missing its end section. A desirable variation in and of itself, the provenance accompanying this example makes for an exceptionally desirable Mauser dual-tone P.38.
