MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 387095. Bbl. 24". Marked inverted on the right side "S-A-11-41". Bbl. is marked on right side over gas cyl. w/ import marks & marked on the...more left side behind front sight w/ British export proofs. Throat & muzzle gauge less than 1.0. Based on the serial number & bbl. markings, rifle was manufactured in 1941. Flush nut rear sight. Blade front sight w/ protective ears. Plug over sight screw is intact. "SA" marked operating rod is the early type w/o the semi-circular relief cut. Short fork operating follower rod. "SA" marked bolt. Single slot gas cyl. lock screw. Gas cyl. marked on top ahead of handguard w/ "6". Trigger housing, hammer & safety marked "SA". Milled trigger guard. Walnut stock set. Buttstock marked only w/ faint encircled "P" proof under grip. CONDITION: stock set has extensive wear & handling marks throughout commensurate w/ hard service. 3" crack at bottom of forend ahead of magazine well. Front handguard has several long cracks, one of which has neat dovetailed repair. Metal retains 60% of its original worn Parkerized finish, except gas cyl., lock & screw are devoid of finish. Walnut stock set w/ scant grip. Stock is marked on right side w/ faint boxed "SAA" & boxed "E" overhaul marks. All milled furniture including flat trap buttplate. This very early production Model 1903 rifle had its bbl. repla...moreced in the WWI era & carries a replacement bold w/ a swept handle. Ladder rear sight w/ volley notch & dished windage & elevation knobs. Blade front sight w/ stamped sight cover. Bolt handle is marked on top "6" & "7". Marked underneath w/ punch proof. All milled furniture including trap buttplate. Floorplate follower & follower spring are not present. Walnut "S" type straight grip stock set w/ two recoil bolts. Brown leather Model 1907 sling dated "1918". Sling is heavily worn w/ cracking. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: nickel-plated oiler in butt. Rifle is fitted w/ a Springfield made ty...morepe "C" pistol grip stock fitted during overhaul at the time of bbl. replacement. Bolt is marked under safety lug "D3" & bolt handle w/ 2 punch proofs marked "4". Ladder rear sight w/ volley notch graduated to 2,850 yards. Blade front sight. All milled furniture include smooth trap buttplate. "C" type walnut stock set marked only w/ "S" in cutoff recess. Buttstock has small clearance cut for bolt handle. CONDITION: stock set has extensive wear, scratches & handling marks w/ staining. Metal has turned mostly gray w/ moderate wear throughout. Receiver has added "Hatcher hole". MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 3334448. Bbl. 24". Marked behind front sight "RA / flaming bomb / 12-42". Rifle is late production by Remington, prior to the changeover to...more the Model 1903A3 & is equipped w/ a rear sight base w/o lightening cuts. Receiver tang screw hole is drilled through. All visible parts markings are "R". Ladder rear sight w/o volley notch graduated to 2,850 yards. Front sight moveable base has been replaced w/ a Lyman globe target sight assembly w/ aperture insert. Receiver has been fitted w/ a Lyman 48 aperture rear sight. The sight slide is graduated to 125 points. Slide & base numbers do not match. Replacement Model 03A3 bolt. Milled parts include upper & lower bands w/ smooth trap buttplate. Butt swivel & Remington produced small bow trigger guard are stamped. Walnut stock set. Buttstock is straight grip Model 1903A3 type w/ pinned reinforcements. Stock is marked on the left side over trigger guard w/ faint "crossed cannons" & boxed "FJA". Markings under grip include both encircled & plain "P" & "6" proofs. CONDITION: stock set has well-worn arsenal refinish w/ numerous prominent handling marks throughout. Metal retains most of its original gray green hue Parkerization. Very good shiny 4 groove bbl. (25-2964/RW). CURIO. $500-800.

Blade front sight. 03A3 bolt assembly. Bolt handle is electro-penciled to match serial number. All milled furniture including smooth trap buttplate & Remington marked trigger guard. Walnut stock set. Scant grip is marked only w/ faint drawing number & "2" at belly of stock. CONDITION: stock set has arsenal rework finish, moderate wear, staining & handling marks throughout. There is a notable loss of wood on the right side of the butt which appears to be to remove a painted rack number. Metalwork retains a large amount of its arsenal rework dark Parkerized finish w/ light wear & scattered handling marks. Bore has worn lands w/ frosted appearance in grooves. (25-3824/RW). All visible parts markings are "R". All blued stamped furniture including fine checkered trapped buttplate & large bow trigger guard. Walnut stock set. Straight grip stock w/ two recoil bolts. Stock marked on left side w/ legible "RA / crossed cannons / boxed FJA inspector's mark. Cheek area has unboxed "OG" indicating a test & check at the Ogden Utah arsenal. Encircled "P" proof under grip & legible assembly numbers ahead of trigger guard. CONDITION: rifle has very good appearance. Stock set has very light wear & scattered handling marks. Metal retains 80% of its original finishes. Both blue & the greenish wartime Parkerization. Very good shiny 2 groove bore. (25-2570/RW). CURIO. $800-1,100.
