MILITARY M901 TRACKED ARMORED VEHICLE.

Lot # 1033A (Sale Order: 37 of 550)

The M901 came into service in the United States in 1979, seeing significant use in both the Persian Gulf War and Iraq War. It's design is based on the M113 Armored Person...moreal Carrier chassis and designed to carry a dual M220 TOW Missile Launcher, nicknamed "The Hammerhead" due to the aesthetics of the unique turret. Operated with a crew of 4 (squad leader, gunner, loader, driver) this 12 ton machine measures almost 16’ in length & just under 9’ wide with a height of almost 10’ w/ targeting head stowed. It has a range of 300 miles with a top speed of 38 mph. It is armored with 1.5” on the front and 1.75” on the sides. A primary asset of the M901 is its mobility. Its speed, range and power to weight ratio is equivalent to modern tracked vehicles and it is amphibious without special preparation. It can be transported with a full loadout by the C-130 Hercules, or the C-27 Spartan. Due to its upgraded suspension it can also be air-dropped, or rolled off directly into battle. The speed of the firing system, as well as its land speed, is also an asset. When it takes a firing position, it can raise up, acquire the target and engage within 20 seconds. The launcher must be lowered to reload, but can still accomplish that task, and be back to firing in only 40 seconds. It can also carry a 7.62mm GPMG, usually an M60 or M240, as defense against aircraft and personnel. The ammo loadout capacity is 10 TOW Missiles and 2,000 rounds of 7.62 NATO, not including that already loaded and ready. It is powered by a GM Diesel engine producing between 220 & 275 horsepower and able to maneuver on a 60% gradient & 30% side slope. Each side contains 5 road wheels, an idler and drive sprocket. CONDITION: exterior finish painted green, black and brown camoflauge. Tracks utilize rubber pads between lugs to minimize hard surface damage. Overall condition appears to be very good and runs well according to consigner. (02-19442/JZ). $85,000-100,000.

EXTREMELY RARE BRITISH FV102 STRIKER ATGM CARRIER.

Lot # 1033B (Sale Order: 38 of 550)

The FV102 Striker is a British member of the Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance, Tracked classification “CVR(T)” designed as an Anti-Tank Guided Missile “ATGM” carrier, specif...moreically for the Swingfire Guided Missile System. There were a total of only 48 ordered in this configuration, & we believe this is the only example to be imported into the United States. Each FV102 Striker is originally loaded with 5 missiles, ready for immediate deployment in the launcher, and 5 more on board for reloading. The Striker Swingfire anti-tank guided missile launcher is boxed on the rear of the body. When needed, the launch box is elevated 35-degrees and the missiles are fired over the front of the vehicle. They are wire-guided missiles where the gunner has to keep his sights on the target and and control it with a small joystick. It is fitted with eight smoke grenade dischargers, in two clusters of four, on each side. It is fitted with a turret and mount for a 7.62mm L7 General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG), the British variant of the Belgian FN MAG. It could be operated directly, or remotely, under cover, from inside of the Striker through a solenoid trigger mechanism and linkage to control traverse and elevation. Its ammunition capacity was 3000 rounds. The FV102 carries a crew of 3, with speed and agility being a top priority. The Striker engines were initially a Jaguar 4.2 liter burning gasoline, and producing approximately 190 horsepower. Later in production the engines were replaced with a Cummings 5.9 liter diesel. Armor is aluminum instead of steel, for lighter weight and mobility, allowing a top speed of 50Mph with a range of 300 miles, and still providing protection from small arms fire and fragmentation. The striker first entered service in 1976 with the Royal Artillery Anti-tank Guided Missile Batteries, later being fielded by the British during Operation Iraqi Freedom, following Saddam Hussein’s ordered invasion of Kuwait. SPECIFICATIONS (As Originally Delivered from Manufacturer): Weight: 9.1-tons (8,346-kg). Length: 15' 8” (4.8-m). Width: 7' 4” (2.40-m). Height: 7' 6” (2.28-m). Crew: 3. Armor: Welded aluminum up to .5” (13-mm) thick. Weapons: Primary: 5x Swingfire anti-tank guided missile launcher boxes. Secondary: 1x 7.62-mm L7 GPMG. Ammunition: 10x Swingfire missiles including 5 in the launchers and 5 reloads. 3,000x 7.62-mm. Engine: Jaguar J60 4.2-liter 6-cylinder gasoline, 190-hp.Power/weight: 20.8-hp/ton. Fuel Capacity: 92-USG (350-l). Range: 300-miles (483-km). Speed: 50-mph (80-km/h). CONDITION: this vehicle appears to be in unrestored, original condition. The exterior paint is coverage is complete and consistent with full coverage. It appears to be an original British Dark Green/Black camouflage. The wheels and tracks appear to be in very good shape. It starts and moves as it should in the short time we've unloaded it and moved it around the yard. Some exterior mirrors, smoke grenade launchers and some lights are present, though launchers have been pinned per US State Department criteria. The Swingfire mount & mechanism appears complete, as well as the GPMG mount and turret. No LMG or other ordnance included w/ this lot. PROVENANCE: The Littlefield Collection. This was part of the 2014 sale in Portola Valley, California. (02-17438/JZ). $35,000-50,000.

EXTRAORDINARY, SPECIAL ORDERED MAUSER C96 WITH

Lot # 1034 (Sale Order: 40 of 550)

SCOPE & STOCK. Cal. 7.63mm. S# 834001. Seldom does one come across a truly unique special order firearm. This incredible ensemble was reportedly made in 1931 and based on...more a 1930 Commercial pistol. The frame was dimensionally changed, thickened in the upper portion of the right side to provide a flat surface for a scope base upon which could be mounted an OIGEE scope. The scoped pistol, attached to a standard 1930 Commercial stock, presenting an extraordinarily ensemble that may have been used as a basis for the Hollywood Han Solo blaster. This exact ensemble was sold at a major auction house in the U.S., many years ago, for over $50,000, and was profiled in great detail in the German language C96 book "GESCHICHTE & MODELLE 1923-1945, Vol 4" on pages 135-137". The project started using a standard M1930 Commercial having a 5.5" bbl. w/ fixed front sight & slip-in rear sight graduated 50-1000. Short extractor, 2-lug firing pin, universal safety & sm. ring hammer. Usual Mauser address on top of chamber, Crown/"C"/"U" proof on left chamber flat. Full S# on left side of bbl. extension, disassembly showing a matching frame & an unnumbered locking block & floorplate. The special order work was largely directed to the right side of the frame where the upper portion was machined flat. A scope base was attached using 2 lg. diameter pins, then welded in place, its surface having 2 channels for the cammed levers of the mount. The mount slipped over the base & was secured by turning the levers, just as used to attach a Luger stock to its corresponding lug. Sturdy rings were used to secure an OIGEE scope, the manufacturer active from 1910-1960, marked "OIGEE/BERLIN" in 2 locations, with a magnification of 2.5x & marked "6134” under adjustment knobs. "5588" marked on top of scope, arguably representing the model. Presenting reticle is a central pointed post bracketed by 2 equally thick horizontal bars. The attaching stock is from a standard production 1930 Commercial, this one having an unmarked lug w/ squared shoulders. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: scope w/ attached mount & 1930 Commercial shoulder stock. CONDITION: near excellent original salt blue as applied by Mauser to their 1930 Commercial pistols w/ a tempering line just behind the chamber & another at the upper rear of the frame. Sharp edge & handling wear as one might expect from a pistol that has seen light use w/ no evidence of touch up. Bright bore w/sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. Scope & mount, each w/ original finish, are in the same condition w/ scope having bright, crisp optics. Excellent shoulder stock w/a light scattering of handling dings, comparable condition hinge, lug w/ fading over its upper arm. An absolutely stunning special order ensemble. Yes, you could own the Hollywood blaster, but wouldn't you rather have the real thing? (22-3153/LMA). CURIO. $35,000-65,000.
