RIFLE. Cal. 8x57 (8mm Mauser). S# 1791i. Bbl. 23 1/2". Blade front sight. Tangent rear sight graduated to 2000m. Action screws, band spring & bayonet lug are mismatched b...moreut the remaining visible parts are matching to receiver with many being renumbered likely by a German depot during the war. Front sight is also cut for a hood which was a practice not done until 1941, further proving the depot theory. Receiver top has "ax 1940" marking denoting 1940 mfr. by Erma. Parts have mixed Waffenamts such as bbl. having a Steyr "623" Waffenamt. Right side of receiver has three WW2 German eagle "280" Waffenamts. Arsenal rework type blue finish. Laminated stock set with left side sling provisions. Stock is matching to receiver & has a "P" marking but no other visible stamps. Cleaning rod present. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: undated Weyersberg S84/98 bayonet with mismatched 1940 dated scabbard. CONDITION: stock appears to have been cleaned post war with some light chipping around buttplate, finish loss between bands, scattered handling marks & light dings. Metal retains 80% arsenal rework blue with some light dings on front of trigger guard assembly, scattered edge wear, oxidation & some further dings. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Receiver top has German eagle "749" inspection stamp & "bcd 45" markings denoting mfr. by Gustloff Werke in 1945. Floorplate & trigger guard are both marked "qnw". Blued trigger guard. Other parts have phosphate finish. Replacement laminated stock set with left side sling provisions & eagle "H" (Heer) marking on right side of butt. Stock is cut for a takedown disc that is not present. CONDITION: stock set shows some dings & handling marks. Floorplate appears cleaned to bright. Metal shows scattered fading, dings & oxidation. Metal has a mix of phosphate & blued finishes. Laminated stock set with left side sling provisions & worn K98k sling. Bottom of stock is marked "C". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: S238G coded bayonet with mismatched S.178G scabbard. Bayonet shows heavy wear towards front & scattered oxidation. Scabbard & other metal parts of bayonet are a silvery gray color with oxidation & some light pitting. CONDITION: stock set shows a thin crack on handguard, scattered flaking, dings & handling marks. BRUNN K98K BOLT ACTION RIFLE WITH BAYONET. Cal. 8x57mm. S# 9032e. Bbl. 24". K98k bolt action rifle mfg. in Czechoslovakia by Waffenwerke Brunn while under German occupati...moreon in 1943. The top of the receiver is marked with a Brunn WaA80 proof above Brunn's "dou" mfg. code and the 2-digit year of mfg. "43", 2 Russian capture "X" marks, an eagle firing proof, and the S# marked on the left, and with "Mod. 98" marked on the left receiver wall. Right side of the bbl. is F Guns import marked. Metal components exhibit a Russian reapplied blue finish overall. Laminated wood buttstock and handguard, have been sanded and re-lacquered. Hooded blade front sight, with standard tangent rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the receiver and stock. Bolt body, bolt shroud, cocking piece, trigger guard, and floorplate are matching via "9032" in electro-pencil, with the stock having been renumbered on the left side of the butt. Complete with a period brown leather sling marked "D&C" on the buckle. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: blued bayonet marked "42 cof" (Carl Eickhorn) on the left side of the ricasso, with "1866/ b" marked on the right. Bayonet is fitted with 2-piece brown grooved bakelite grips, and is complete with a scabbard and reproduction black leather frog. CONDITION: very good, with metal components retaining the majority of their Russian arsenal reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some areas of light wear and thinning, with some areas of pitting present beneath the bluing. Dark pitted bore, retaining good to strong rifling throughout. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. Sling remains malleable, exhibiting age related cracking and crazing overall. Bayonet retains much of its original blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and striations from prior cleaning. RIFLE. Cal. 8x57 (8mm Mauser). S# 5954f. Bbl. 23 1/2" with Mitchell's Mausers import marking. Blade front sight. Tangent rear sight graduated to 2000m. Matching original ...morenumbers on receiver, bbl., and front sight. Left side of butt, bolt parts, trigger guard, floorplate, and both bands renumbered to match likely by importer. Other parts are unnumbered or mismatched. Receiver top has "S/42G" marking denoting mfg. by Mauser Oberndorf in 1935. Bolt assembly, buttplate, and takedown disc are all polished to bright. Other parts have reblue finish that appears to be importer done. Banner K style stock with grasping grooves and left side sling provisions. Brightly finished cleaning rod is present. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: matching-numbered Mitchell's certificate and manual. CONDITION: refinished stock set shows an armorer-type patch repair and some chipping near the band keeper; the stock set otherwise shows some black staining and handling wear. Brightly finished parts show some light pitting and oxidation. Balance of metal retains 95-97% reblue with some light edge and handling wear. Action functions properly when hand-cycled. Metal components exhibit a salt blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece aftermarket checkered wood grips. CONDITION: good, with metal components retaining large amounts of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, as well as scattered areas of light to mild pitting and surface oxidation. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Frame features a slot for a lanyard loop and is mounted with a 2-piece checkered wood grip. Slide features a matted sight groove with an integral blade front sight and a dovetailed U-notch rear sight. All numbers are matching and include the frame, slide, and bbl. MAGS: Two 8-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Brown leather holster stamped "jhg/ 41" on the closure strap flap. Closure strap is stamped with an Eagle/WaA286 proof. Metal components exhibit a salt blue finish overall, save for on the bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece flat checkered wood grips. Slide features a sight channel groove, with an integral blade front sight and dovetailed U-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide, and bbl. Metal components exhibit a nicely reapplied blue finish overall, with the trigger and safety lever/slide catch exhibiting a nitre blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved wood grips, which appear to have been sanded and re-grooved at one time. Half-moon blade front sight with a V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, trigger, trigger bar, slide, bbl., as well as the grips. Trigger bar S# appears to have originally been a factory error, originally reading "8305" and having been over-stamped to "8307." MAGS: two 7-rd.
