Approx...more. 34,000 made 1943-1945 for military training during WW-II. Earlier example with blued finish (premium value); parkerizing began about S# 128000. Checkered hard rubber grips, left side thumb safety lever, exposed hammer, matching numbered slide, right side takedown lever used in conjunction with button on top of slide, checkered last round slide lock, serrated and curved thin trigger plus bottom rear magazine latch. Ordnance wheel on right front side of frame along with "PROPERTY OF / U.S.". MAGS: 1 blued 2 tone 10 rd. with aftermarket appearance. CONDITION: good appearance with numerous areas of cleaned peppery to light oxidation. Thinning in grip area and at high points plus light scratches throughout. Top of the bbl. is marked with Colt's mfg. and patent information, with "...moreTHE WOODSMAN" marked on the left side of the breech. Left side of the slide is marked "COLT," followed by the cal. designation and Rampant Colt logo. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece custom black checkered wood grips. Replacement blade front sight with adjustable square notch rear sight. MAGS: One 10-rd. CONDITION: Good, with metal components retaining large amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, with some freckling present overall. Right side of the slide, the right half of the top of the slide, and a small section on the left side of the slide exhibit striations from heavy cleaning. Mirror bore, retaining strong rifling throughout. Grips show some smoothing and some scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (24-7209/MLW). The partly visible roundel on the right side of the butt is dated "1911" and has "EDB" in the center. CONDITION: The stock set has moderate wear and handling marks. The left...more side of the slide is marked "GASPAR ARIZAGA EIBER CAL 765," above the S#. Left side of the frame is marked with an encircled "A" maker's mark, with two stars stamped on the butt, denoting French military use. Mag. floorplate is stamped with an encircled "R.H.". Frame and slide exhibit a blue finish, with the trigger, slide catch lever, and mag. heel release exhibiting a straw finish. Bbl. is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Half-moon blade front sight with V-notch rear sight. Frame and slide exhibit matching S#s, with the frame, slide, and bbl. exhibiting a matching "936" assembly #. MAGS: three 9-rd. CONDITION: very good, with metal components retaining the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, as well as some scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation and pitting. Strawed parts retain fair to good amounts of their finish, exhibiting wear and scattered spots of age-related discoloration. Very bright bore, exhibiting some light pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Receiver is marked on left rail w/ "crowned GR" view mark, "broad arrow" & the "crown" w/ encircled "BM" beside the words "NOT ENGLISH MANF". This is the commercial proof given to surplus rifles that were sold to civilians in Great Britain. The bolt handle shows grinding marks on top, indicating that the bolt is a replacement matched to the rifle. Bolt handle marked underneath "NS". Trigger guard is marked "DP" which means "drill purpose". Walnut stock w/ replacement hardwood handguards. Buttstock is marked on right side w/ "DP" & encircled "51 / broad arrow / 9-66". Original marking disc replaced by wood plug. Stock retains the range plate for the volley sight at the forend. Rear aperture is not present. Upper band marked "E" has hobbyist gunsmith replacement stacking swivel. Bayonet stud shows file marks. CONDITION: stock has moderate wear, staining & handling marks throughout. Handguard finishes do not match stock. Metal retains 50% of its original blue finish w/ thinning in wear. Trigger guard has notable pitting on floorplate which has been cleaned. A couple of small parts have a Suncorite finish, but the balance of the metal has a wartime blue finish. Checkered black Webley grips. Lanyard ring present on bottom of grip frame. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: aftermarket black hard case. CONDITION: grips show some heavy checkering wear, a couple of chips, scattered dings, and handling marks. Metal retains 70% of its 'war finish,' and Suncorite, with a factory flaw ding on the front of the bbl., fading to gray on the grip straps, scattered edge wear, light oxidation, edge wear, and some dings. Frame, slide, and chamber exhibit numerous British military proofs. Top of the slide is stamped "3" over the chamber area. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered black Vulcanite grips. Interior of each grip panel is inscribed "W18". Blade front sight with adj. U-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, grip safety, slide, and bbl. MAGS: One 7-rd. CONDITION: Metal components retain large amounts of their original blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray and brown patinas, as well as scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation overall. Bore is bright, exhibiting scattered spots of light to mild oxidation, with a concentrated spot of pitting present towards the center of the bbl. Cal. 455. S# 637. Bbl. 5". Mark I semi-automatic pistol, mfg. by Webley & Scott under contract for the British Navy. The left side of the slide is marked with the Webley ...more& Scott winged bullet logo above "W&S", followed by "WEBLEY & SCOTT LTD/ PISTOL SELF-LOADING 455 MARK I N/ 1913". Slide and frame exhibit Birmingham nitro proofs, with military proofs scattered overall. Metal components (save for the hammer) have been cleaned and are in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered vulcanite grips. Recoil lever bar / breech stop has split into two pieces and exhibits a previously welded repair. Due to breakage, slide and bbl. S#s cannot be verified. Left grip panel is a replacement and features finer checkering than the right panel. MAGS: one 7-rd. CONDITION: metal components are very good, as cleaned and in-the-white, exhibiting some areas of light to mild pitting, some scattered handling marks, as well as some light age-related discoloration. Dark bore, exhibiting consistent pitting while retaining fair rifling throughout. Some markings are enhanced with white. Six-shot cyl. Fixed sights. Single and double action lock work. Checkered walnut grips; left grip is marked with a broad arrow at the top. Cal. 38 S&W. S# X137. Bbl. 5" dated 1943. Blade front sight. Square notch rear sight. Matching numbers on frame, bbl., and cyl. Right side of frame marked "DI" for Enfiel...mored. Left side of bbl. has British sale proofs. Left side of frame has "ENGLAND" marking. Parts have varied British military proofs. Parkerized finish with some Suncorite small parts. Grooved black grips. Lanyard ring present on bottom of grip frame. CONDITION: grips show a crack at rear of left panel, some flaking, light chipping, dings & handling marks. Metal retains 85% dull arsenal blue with some edge wear, light oxidation & some dings. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Very good bore. PROVENANCE: The Estate Collection of Charles Wagner. Despite Colt and Smith & Wesson's significant contribution to small arms production for th...moree British military during WWI, Britain still faced a significant shortage in firearms due to a combination of attrition and the armament of newly trained units. To compensate, Britain turned to a Spanish firearms consortium, which consisted of three large Spanish mfgs. This example, mfg. by Garate, Anitua y Cia is marked "MANUFACTURA ESPECIAL DE REVOLVERS/ GARATE ANITUA Y CIA - EIBER (ESPANA)" over the top of the right. Right side of the frame is marked with Garate, Anitua's trademark logo. Front grip strap is numbered "539," with "446" on the rear grip strap. Frame, cyl., and bbl. exhibit various British proofs. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the trigger, hammer, and bbl. latch, which exhibit a case color-hardened finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece "GAC" monogram checkered black hard rubber grips. Half-moon blade front sight with notch rear sight. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: an unmarked, period-modified brown leather holster. CONDITION: Metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and thinning, scattered marks from handling and storage, as well as some scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation overall. Case color-hardened parts show some areas of wear and fading, which show through to a gray patina. Mirror bore, retaining strong rifling throughout. Grips show some scattered superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (24-6982/MLW). CURIO. $300-400.

Left side of the ...morebbl. is marked "NEW SERVICE 38 SPECIAL", with Colt's mfg. and patent information marked across the top. Left side of the frame is marked with the Rampant Colt logo, "VP" proof, and a British military proof, with "/380" stamped on the left side of the frame at the chamber. Metal components exhibit a reapplied parkerized finish overall, with the trigger and lanyard loop exhibiting a blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Colt silver medallion checkered wood grips. Clipped point blade front sight with square frame notched rear sight. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Khaki British web canvas holster. CONDITION: Metal components retain the majority of their reapplied parkerized finish, exhibiting some light to mild wear, scattered superficial handling marks, and a few spots of moderate surface oxidation. Brilliant mirror bore, exhibiting well-defined rifling throughout. Grips are good, showing some light to mild smoothing and some scattered handling marks overall. Left side of rear sight base has ZF-41 scope ...morebase. matching numbers on receiver, bolt release, trigger guard, both bands & floorplate. Bolt parts & handguard are mismatched. Other parts appear unnumbered. Receiver top marked "ar 42" denoting 1942 mfr. by Mauser Borsigwalde. Blued finish. Laminated stock set with left side sling provisions. Band Keeper is missing. Replacement cleaning rod present. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: fnj44 coded S84/98 bayonet with mismatched cof 43 coded scabbard in very good condition. CONDITION: stock has visible duffel cut repair behind rear band, notable cracks on both sides of wrist, a small handguard crack, a few gouges, scattered dings, flaking & handling marks. Trigger guard is warped & bent. Metal is mostly a gray patina with scattered dings, oxidation staining & traces of original blue. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Bore is mostly bright with a few spots of light pitting but strong rifling. (25-479/MJC). CURIO. $500-800.

RIFLE. Cal. 8x57 (8mm Mauser). S# 18844. Bbl. 23 1/2". Blade front sight without hood. Tangent rear sight graduated to 2000m. Left side of rear sight base has ZF-41 scope...more base. Bolt parts & front band are mismatched with other visible parts being unnumbered. Floorplate & trigger guard both marked "byf". Late war "Kriegsmodell" K98k rifle. Receiver top has "byf 45" marking denoting 1945 mfr. by Mauser Oberndorf. Mix of blue & phosphate finishes. Laminated stock set with left side sling provisions & worn K98k sling. Right side of butt has faint WW2 German inspection stamps that appear to be "WaA135". Both bands are missing their screws causing them to be loose. CONDITION: stock set appears cleaned with some dings, staining & handling marks. Metal retains about 50% original blue & phosphate finishes with scattered fading, oxidation & edge wear. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Bright near excellent bore. (25-482/MJC). CURIO. $500-800.
