Bbl. flats are stamped w/ original London nitro proofs & 1999 reproofs for 2 3/4" chambers & "SLEEVED". Case hardened royal sidelock action features automatic safety ("SAFE" inlaid in gold) Gold line in tumbler end cocking indicators & Holland & Holland single trigger which fires right bbl. then left. If heavier choke is desired, pushing the trigger blade forward sets gun up to fire left bbl. only. Action & locks are engraved w/ classic Holland & Holland style full coverage varying sized shaded scroll within geometric borders surrounding classic "Holland & Holland" device on each lockplate. Bottom of action is engraved "Royal" "Hammerless" "Ejector". Balls of trigger plate are engraved "Patent" & "Single Trigger". Scroll engraved trigger guard has S# engraved on short tang. Very finely marbled & lightly figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14" over ribbed horn buttplate. & features classic drop points, point pattern checkering on semi diamond hand & lg. vacant silver oval on toeline. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: gun is housed in a vintage leather case w/ brass corners embossed "A. W. B." on top. Case is lined in dark green cloth & has repro. leather H&H label in lid. Case contains a leather covered hand protector, wiping cloth & two piece walnut & brass cleaning rod. CONDITION: fine as refurbished. Bbls. retaining nearly all of a best London reblack done at time of sleeving w/ some minor subsequent flecking. Tube joints are very hard to see & maker's info has been removed from tops of bbls. Action & locks retain a considerable amount of their original muted case hardening color, difficult to see through extensive engraving. Top lever & trigger guard w/ traces of blue are mostly gray patina. Buttstock shows old oil refinish, possible replacement buttplate, newer large oval & recut checkering. Sharp edges of stock are somewhat rounded. Forend wood appears to have been reshaped toward tip to adj. for a chip in bbl. channel, checkering nicely modified. Bores are bright & shiny. Action is tight. Bbls. are on face. Ejectors are strong & in time. Trigger seems to work well. Case leather is quite dark & shows a number of scrapes & rubs. Straps are good. The handle has partially detached. Interior cloth is good w/ some rubs through. Newer label is very fine. A solid, great handling gun that one could be proud to use for the next half century. The number "2" is inlaid at rear portion of rib, matching number found on top lever & forend latch. Bottom of monobloc is stamped w/ serial number & engraved "Made in Spain". Coin finished action w/ removable trigger group having V-springs is fitted w/ automatic safety & single nonselective trigger. Action is engraved w/ very attractive near full coverage sprays of well cut scroll surrounding & accented by rose and floral bouquets. "KEMEN" is emblazoned at top of forend iron mortise. Pistol grip buttstock of exhibition quality, finely marbled & intricately fiddle figured European walnut measures 14 5/8" over black "Kick-eez" pad. Stock features point pattern checkering at grip w/ sm. right hand palm swell & a vacant gold oval on toeline. Matching one piece field type forend has Deeley type release. CONDITION: exceptionally fine, appears to be unfired since proof with a small number of handling marks on all wood & metal surfaces, most notably 3 or 4 scratches on left side panel. The 30" skelp damascus barrels are engraved with maker's name and Haymarket London address along with Field gun trial dates ending with ...more1879 on concave game rib. Rear of rib is engraved "Patent Trebble" "Wedge Fast". Barrel flats are unmarked, bottoms of barrels are stamped with Birmingham black powder proofs for "13B" "14M" & '"NOT FOR BALL" (an obvious mistake because this gun definately has 10 gauge chambers. Bore diameters are about .760). Heavy boxlock action is fitted with Greener side safety, cross bolt third fastener and double triggers. Action engraved with about 50% coverage small scroll with maker's name on each side. S# is on trigger guard tang. Round knob pistol grip buttstock of very fancy marbled and stump figured European walnut measures 14 1/4" over hand checkered horn buttplate. Point pattern checkering is at grip and a vacant silver oval is on toeline. Matching splinter forend with inlet horn tip has Deeley release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: L .757. R .762. Restriction: L .002 (IC). R .015 (Mod). Wall thickness: L .030. R .021. STOCK: DAH: 3 1/4". DAC: 1 7/8". CAST: about 1/2" off. LOP: 14 1/4". WEIGHT: 9 lb. 1 oz. CONDITION: fine. Barrels retaining most of what appears to be their original brown with good definition to interesting pattern. Forend checkering shows considerable wear. Bores are bright and shiny with evidence of minor dent removal in both barrels about 9" behind muzzles. Barrel flats are stamped with London black powder proofs for 20 Ga. Spring cocking self opening boxlock type action features automatic safety and double triggers. This action is one of the variants designed by Frederick Beesley and used by Lancaster. Most were very difficult to close thus the "wristbreaker" moniker. Action engraved with near full coverage, well cut shaded scroll and maker's name on both sides. Trigger plate engraved "Patent Block" "Safety". Trigger guard with scroll on bow has S# on tang. Straight grip buttstock of attractively marbled and lightly figured European walnut measures 14 1/4" over checkered wood butt and features usual checkering, drop points and vacant silver oval. Matching splinter forend has sugartong release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: L .628. R .628. Restriction: L .003 (IC). R .003 (IC). Wall thickness: L .026. R .025. STOCK: DAH: 1 3/4". INTERESTING TOP LEVER HAMMER GUN BY STEPHEN GRANT.

Cal. 12 Ga. 2-5/8". S# 4460 (1878). The 30" Damascus barrels are engraved "Stephen Grant 67a. St. James's Street. London." on slightly raised narrow game rib. Barrel flat...mores are stamped with London black powder proofs. S# are on bottoms of barrels along with "E.C.H." (E. C. Hodges, the actual maker and patentee of this gun and its action; which was designed to circumvent the Purdey action. It has one large bite which engages the rear lump and two secondary locks that engage a transverse square pin, also through the rear lump. Extractor system is housed in front lump.) Round bodied top lever action is fitted with back spring pennisula locks with rebounding round bodied serpentine hammers. Action and locks are engraved with 80% coverage, very small scroll. Lockplates are engraved "Stephen Grant"; sides of action are engraved "Stephen Grant's Patent"; top of action is engraved "Patent". Blued trigger guard with scroll on bow has S# on tang. Straight grip buttstock of very well marbled and figured European walnut measures 14-1/2" over checkered wood butt with engraved steel heel and toe plates. Flat top point pattern checkering is at grip and a vacant silver oval is on toe line. Matching splinter forend has very interesting Anson type release with hidden button in forend tip. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: L .729. R .729. Restriction: L .000 (Cyl). R .000 (Cyl). (Gun made before choke boring became mainstream.) Wall thickness: L .029. R .030. STOCK: DAH: 2-1/8". DAC: 1-1/2". CAST: neutral. LOP: 14-1/2". WEIGHT: 6 lb. 13 oz. CONDITION: good. Barrels retaining most of their original brown which shows considerable hand wear. Action and locks are mostly pewter gray but show traces of original case hardening color. About 10% original blue remains on top lever and trigger guard. Stocks with most of their original oil finish have many scattered marks. Grip checkering shows moderate wear, forend has more wear along with 6-7 fairly deep dents. Bores are considerable pitted. Action is tight (hook shows peening); locks are fine. A good high quality gun; thickness of barrels should allow for re-boring to remove pits and leave some choke. (01-24215/MGM). ANTIQUE. $3,000-5,000.

The 30" two stripe damascus barrels are engraved "STEPHEN GRANT 67a St. James' Street London" "4" on narrow game rib. Barrel flats stamped with original London black powder proofs for 12B & 14M along with 2005 London nitro reproofs for 2 3/4" chambers. Trigger plate action which has the appearance of a boxlock has opening and cocking lever on right side and features automatic safety ("SAFE" inlaid in gold) and double triggers. Action engraved with near full coverage well executed medium scroll. Maker's name is on each side and top tang is engraved "Patent". Trigger guard with scroll on bow has S# and "4" on tang. Straight grip buttstock of attractively streaked and well figured Circassian walnut measures 13 1/2" over checkered wood butt with steel heel and toe plates (top engraved "4"). Stock also features drop points flat top point pattern checkering and vacant silver oval. Toeline is nicely swept yielding an elegant and racy look. Matching splinter forend has Anson release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: L .728. R .726. Restriction: L .028 (I-Mod). R .020 (Mod). Wall thickness: L .034. R .033. STOCK: DAH: 2 1/8". DAC: 1 7/16". CAST: about 1/4" off. LOP: 13 1/2". WEIGHT: 6 lb. 12 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: gun is housed in its original oak and leather case with brass corners embossed "A.M." "Army & Navy Club." on top. There are some old steam ship company labels attached. Interior is lined in red cloth and a Stephen Grant paper label is in lid along with charge card for this particular gun. Case contains a dog leash ? and exterior straps. CONDITION: good as refurbished. Barrels retaining most of an old rebrown with fair definition to pattern over marks, dings and scratches. Action is mostly bright silver with traces of case hardening color visible where protected. Engraving remains clear. Stocks retain nearly of an oil refinish, checkering recut. Sharp details somewhat softened. Bores are bright and shiny. Action is tight (hinge pin replaced). Case leather is quite dark with many stains and rubs. New straps and handle bases have been added and are good. Interior cloth renewed some time ago with labels reattached, considerable subsequent staining is evident. (01-24236/MGM). Scenes are surrounded by fine arabesque scroll engraving & floral bouquets that extend to the bbl. The lock plate areas have a very unusual & distinctive interwoven ribbon pattern engraving. Small field style forearm that wraps around the lower bbl. only has a horn tip & Anson release. Straight hand stock of fancy English walnut w/ tear drop points having brass shield in toeline. Stock & forearm have elegant borderless hand checkering w/ scalloped edges. LOP: 14-7/8" over a 1" checkered hard rubber extension buttplate. DAC: 1-3/8". DAH: 1-7/8". Stock has approx. 1/4" cast off. Bore diameter: U .734", O .733". Choke constriction: U .048", O, cyl. bore. Minimum wall thickness: U .027", O .025". WEIGHT: 6 lbs, 12 ozs. CONDITION: bbls. retain over 98% reblackened finish. Action is polished bright. Wood has very good refinish & freshened checkering. Forearm has a crack extending from right side of iron. Case hardened sidelock actions feature non-automatic safetys and double triggers, fronts articulated. Actions are engraved with near full coverage very well cut varying size open shaded scroll. EJECTOR DOUBLE TRIGGER GAME SHOTGUNS. Cal. 12 Ga. 2-3/4" (both). S# -27-03-005-95 & S# -27-03-006-95. Although not marked "1" & "2" denoting a pair, it appears that these...more two guns were sold and used as a pair. Each having 28" chopper lump barrels fitted with narrow game ribs. Both guns are marked with Maker's name on tops of right barrels and retailers info on left (William Larkin Moore & Co.). Both have identical proofs and chokes. Case hardened actions both have automatic safetys, bushed strikers, hand detachable sidelocks and double triggers (fronts articulated). Both are engraved the same with about 80% coverage well cut shaded scroll. Straight grip buttstocks also match well with well streaked European walnut, drop points and point pattern checkering. SPORTING DELUXE O/U SHOTGUN WITH EXTRA BARRELS, AND TRIGGER GROUP. Cal. 12 Ga. 2 3/4". S# F0099 / F0100. The 28 & 29 3/4" monobloc O/U barrel sets are each fitted with ma...moretted ventilated ribs that are gold inlaid "I" and "II" at breech ends. Both barrel sets are engraved "Famars Italy" on left side of top barrel and monoblocs are stamped with 1997 Italian Nitro proofs for 2 3/4". 28" Barrel set "I" (SN F0099) have bottom barrel fitted for choke tubes and top barrel choked mod. 29 3/4" Barrel set "II" (SN F0100) has choke tubes top & bottom. Coin finished Famars "Excalibur" type action with removable trigger group is also fitted with ornamental sideplates. Action and lockplates are engraved with near full coverage very nicely cut semi relief large acanthus scroll with some floral highlights on sideplates. Rear portion of this scroll emanates from the mouth of stylized dragons. Large scrolls on bottom of action terminate in the busts of lovely ladies with floral accent between. "FAMARS" is on shield like device behind forend iron mortice. A gold sovereign's crown is inlaid on top lever. Engraver's signature "C. Tomasoni" is on right side of lock mortice. Extreme pistol grip buttstock of exhibition quality burl figured European walnut measures 14 3/4" over thin black "Decelerator" pad. Well cut point pattern checkering is at grip which has right hand palm swell. Near fully checkered slim field type forend with Anson type release services both barrel sets. MEASUREMENTS Case interior shows considerable wear, from lining is disintegration. Case cover shows mild water staining . (22-4471/MGM). MODERN. $9,000-14,000.

SIDELOCK EJECTOR DOUBLE TRIGGER HEAVY GAME OR PIGEON GUN WITH BEAVERTAIL FOREND AND CASE. Cal. 12 Ga., 2 3/4". S# 2286 (1971). The top of the line Bernardelli, this fine ...moregun has 27 1/2" dovetailed bbls. with slightly raised matted game rib. Tops of bbls are engraved "Made in Italy" "V. Bernardelli s. p. a. Gardone V.T.". Engine turned bbl. flats are stamped w/ 1971 Italian Nitro proofs for 2 3/4" chambers. Coin finished sidelock action features non automatic safety ("SECURA" engraved), bushed strikers, hidden 3rd fastener, raised rib tumbler end cocking indicators, and dbl. triggers (front articulated). Action is engraved with full coverage ribbons & swags of acanthus having rose & other floral tips in a shaded background of small scroll. Fences are engraved with rose bouquets. Maker's name and address is on arched ribbon on bottom of action. Blued top lever and trigger guard are engraved to match. Straight grip buttstock of well marbled & nicely crotch figured European walnut measures 14 3/8" over thin brown rifle pad. Closely spaced point pattern checkering is at grip & slightly fluted drop points are behind lockplates. Matching schnabled beavertail ejector forend has Anson release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: R .722", L .722". Restriction: R .013" (MOD), L .030" (FULL). Min. Wall Thickness: R .030", L .030". STOCK: DAH: 1 3/4". DAC: 1 3/8". LOP: 14 3/8". CAST: approx. 1/4" off. WEIGHT: 7 lb. 6 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: gun is housed in a best quality British oak & leather case with brass corners in leather trimmed canvas outter cover. Top of case is embossed "P" & "D" either side of central brass medallion. Interior is lined in burgandy cloth & has new Bernadelli label in lid & an old charge card. No accessories are present. CONDITION: very fine, appears to be original. Bbls. retaining over 90% good quality blue with some handling marks & light silvering. Action retains nearly all of its coin finish with some slight evidence of cleaning. Top lever & trigger guard retain most of their original blue. Trigger guard appears to be reblued, but with little polishing; engraving remains sharp. Stocks retain most of a light oil refinish, edges remaining sharp, checkering lightly worn. Bores are bright and shiny without any visible imperfections. Action is tight. Ejectors are strong and in time. Case leather is medium dark with many rubs and marks. Straps and handle are renewed. Outer cover shows light wear. Interior cloth is good with rubs & compressions w/ some soiling. Beavertail forend is too wide for bbl. channel & fit is very tight. (22-4537/MGM). CURIO. $4,000-7,000.
