Matching walnut stock set. Buttstock marked on right side w/ "12", "1902", encircled crown "RM", "SPARKBROOK" w/ arrow &"I*". MAGS: 1-10 rd. mag. attached by chain. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 12" dbl. edged blade pattern 1888 bayonet. Bayonet is marked on left ricasso w/ "crown ER" & "1 03". Blade marked on top w/ crown view marks. "IW" cartouche on...more right side of buttstock. This is an Alex Martin conversion for WWII using a WWI scope. Mount S# matches rifle. Pointer removed from dial volley sight. Converted to close on empty mag. by grinding follower. Wooden cheekpiece fitted incidental to conversion. Tan web sling. This rifle is a very nice specimen of its kind. MAGS: 1-10 rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brown leather scope covers. CONDITION: very good to near excellent metal surfaces, starting to thin to gray. Winchester name buffed away on receiver band. Appears mechanically functional. Rifled bore near excellent. Scope optics are clear w/ blemish at the 5 o'clock quarter. Stock very good to near excellent w/ some minor handling marks. Rifle has no patent markings or other markings. Band mounted blade front sight w/ 2 circular holes in upper part of base. 1400 Yard graduated leaf rear sight marked "R" for rifle. Walnut stock & handguard w/ upper band & bayonet lug being similar to Springfield 03. MAGS: 1 detachable w/ 2 cartridge groove guides down each side. CONDITION: 90% blue w/ some fading. Stocks have lightly worn finish w/ scattered handling marks. Very good bore. PROVENANCE: The Estate of Bob Faris. (01-13571/DS). ANTIQUE. $1500-2500.

Left side of slide has standard Colt markings; right side has "CALIBRE 455". Non British proofed blued "COLT 45 AUTO" bbl. w/ "P" on left leg & "G" in front of legs. Underside of slide has misc. marks w/ 1 set being "E50". Top of frame by disconnector stamped "E". Slide has flat top rear sight w/ U notch. Recoil spring guide has blunt legs. Smooth flat mainspring housing w/ lanyard loop plus short tang grip safety. Checkered safety lever w/out undercut. Checkered slide stop w/ undercut. Modified type B hammer w/ borderless checkering. MAGS: 1 refinished (over light pitting) blued 7 rd. mag. w/ lanyard loop & base having broad arrow, "CAL. 455" & "ELEY". Period correct thumb safety, grip safety & long steel trigger. Replacement grooved arched mainspring housing & narrow checkered hammer. Later slide lock checkered w/out milled cut. Spring guide w/ blunt legs. Feb. 2000 American Rifleman pg. 38 has feature article by Gary P Johnston about group of Remington-UMC pistols assembled w/ Remington Rand slides. Referred to as "Lunch Box Specials" or "Corporate Gifts" w/ minimal information available. S# 4935 featured in article w/ unusual proofs such as X w/in a circle.
