Mfg. from spot welded stamped sheet metal w/ smooth bore tube bbl. Intended for European resistance, but very few used as most went to Philippines & China. Entire production run created in 10-11 weeks. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: original 10 rd. ammo box w/ spacer holding original very good instruction sheet. References state ammo packed w/ Liberators was Frankford Arsenal marked "FA 42" ammo. This example has Winchester Cartridge Company "WCC 42" marked ammo. Cal. 45 ACP. S# 513938. Spectacular example mfg. 1918 appearing after mid point as indicated by borderless checkered hammer. All correct features throughout: dbl. diamond...more walnut grips, "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" above S#, type 5 Colt bbl. marked "HP" in port area plus "G" in front of lugs, undercut milling on sidelock, flat mainspring housing, long trigger, & distinctive black milled finish. Trigger guard numbered "42", "S6" inspector mark & top of frame marked "3" , "H" & "G". Underside of slide on mid flat marked "G" at front & "9" at rear. Other correct features are sights, spring plug & guide. MAGS: 3 unmarked Colt 2 tone 7 rd. mags. TOTAL. 2 From mag. pouch have cleaned patina appearing bases, use rub marks & scattered peppery oxidation. Pistol mag. w/ very minimal use marks & very good to excellent overall. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Mills belt w/ black brass ends plus Mills dbl. mag. pouch dated Jan. 1919. "US" marked (front) 1918 dated (1 flap) canteen pouch w/ LF&C 1918 canteen & cup; 2nd flap has 2 line unreadable maker mark. "G.&K. / 1918 / A.G." marked brown leather holster w/ noose tied rawhide holster. Verdigris on brass plus light scuffs & marks throughout top area. "US" in oval very faint. All canvas items & canteen very good to excellent. Vintage mag. maintenance reminder (likely enclosed in Mills mag. pouch when new) presently secured under new packing tape. CONDITION: very good to excellent appearance w/ some slight thinning on high points. Very faint peppery oxidation on mainspring housing. Occasional light scratch throughout such as by S#. Few sm. scattered points of peppery oxidation on slide; mostly right side, which also has rub mark at front from dust cover. Rub marks on bbl. from functioning & noticeably loose link pin. Near excellent bore, but top of chamber has sm. grind mark at mid point as if by sm. rotary stone; appears caused by top of stone used to throat bbl. (correct angle & position). Ramp area of bbl. & breech face of slide has unfired appearance. Slight diamond top wear at bottom left rear; balance of grips near excellent. Finish condition, faint marks, etc. appear unfired since mid to late 1918 mfg. (17-2119/NW). CURIO. $2500-3500.

All very good 7 rd. mags. 1 Correct type, two toned, pin based w/ lanyard loop; 2 similar w/out lanyard loop: 1 w/ 2 plugged holes as if having had bumper pad installed : 1 Barnes & Kobert w/ "B" on lip. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: very good June 1918 double mag. pouch w/ lift the dot snaps. Marked "F.S.F." Back signature inked "BREINING". Brass trimmed US web belt w/ "RM COMPANY 1942" markings. Very good well maintained Boyt 42 holster w/ "US" in oval & rawhide at bottom w/ slight cracking on flap leather; body has appearance of polished leather. CONDITION: fair to good bore w/ moderate frosting near throat & light frosting throughout. Good plus grips w/ some diamond top wear in 1 spot on left & 2 areas on right. Feed ramp has unused appearance. Slide has noticeable spotty appearance w/ loss appearing caused by chemicals. Similar less pronounced appearance on bottom of dust cover & grip area. (17-2752/NW). (proper "R" on lip) WWII blued fair to good 7 rd. mag. w/ peppery oxidation on sides & base. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: generally good US marked flap holster w/ noticeable wear & slight cracking on flap; "US" very faded. Patina on metal attachment loop. Back marked "BOLEN LEA. Smooth flat mainspring housing w/ lanyard loop plus short tang grip safety. Left leg of bbl. stamped "J" plus "3" in front of legs. Right side of frame marked "GOVERNMENT MODEL" above S#. Spring guide has early sharp legs. Top of frame by disconnector stamped "G" & "S". Rnd. top U notch rear sight & later production shortened Type B hammer w/ borderless checkering. MAGS: 1 fair to good, 2 tone, unmarked patina appearing 7 rd. mag. w/ lanyard loop. CONDITION: fair to good hand worn grips. Fair bore noticeably worn & light even pitting. Lugs of bbl. penned at mid point of ramps. Older arsenal reblue, yet frame appears original finish w/ inspector mark done after finish.
